A truly poignant look at getting over loss. If you were fully stuck in grief would finding a new love or changing your location temporarily help? Would leaving New York where all of your memories live and going to a small island in Ireland jolt you out of your grief? Toss in a hate at first sight hot Irishman, gorgeous vistas, unique townspeople who are distinct characters and spending 3 months in a gorgeous cottage and you just might be onto something! At least, Cordelia, our main character thinks she might be! The plot is beautifully woven story of strength, love, memories and starting over with a bit of steamy bedroom antics to warm you up while you read! I have to say that this is my first book by this author, but it definitely won't be my last! The audiobook was done fabulously with dual narration, so you really felt like you were getting inside the head of both Cordelia and Niall, the frustratingly hot Irishman that we hate on sight! I highly recommend that you grab this audio and make it a must listen if you are an audio lover like me, but if not then you should absolutely grab the book as it vividly paints the landscape as well as the interactions of the characters with the plot!

this is such a sweet and swoony summer romance! i loved the setting sooo much— the author did an amazing job at depicting how majestic and picturesque ireland is! i could perfectly envision myself there.
i loved cordelia and niall’s love story! from their silly meet-cute, to their bickering and bantering, to their tension filled moments and slow burning attraction, to the moment they finally let their guard down and let themselves fall. their happily ever after was truly so beautiful! it really proved that what’s meant to be will always find its way to you, no matter how many obstacles try to get in the way.
my favorite part in any small town romance is always the meddling but well intentioned townspeople who just make everything about the couple their business. the people of inishmore did not disappoint! they saw the way these two looked at each other from the beginning and rooted for them all the way! as did i!
i listened to the audiobook— and let me just say the narrators, keval shah and june deborahae, gave a superb performance! the irish accents were sooo good!!!
thank you so much to netgalley and dreamscape media for this ALC!!!

This captivating romantic comedy introduces Cordelia, a woman feeling a bit lost in life, and Niall, who is grappling with the loss of his big dream and a broken heart. Cordelia impulsively decides to take a last-minute trip to a small town in Ireland in hopes of shaking herself out of her funk, while Niall finds solace in the same town.
Throughout the summer, Cordelia and Niall embark on a journey of healing together. They discover what it truly means to find happiness again, to trust in themselves and each other, and to embrace their passions. Set against the backdrop of the charming Inishmore island and its vibrant cast of characters, their story unfolds in a series of heartwarming and often humorous moments.
As they navigate through life's ups and downs, Cordelia and Niall find comfort and support in each other, as well as in the close-knit community of Inishmore. This delightful tale will transport you to the rolling hills of Ireland and leave you feeling as if you've been wrapped up in a warm, cozy Irish hug. It's a must-read for anyone looking for a dose of romance, laughter, and the joy of second chances.

Even better on audio the second time around! This was a really fun, dual POV, enemies to lovers, small Irish island vacation romance between a New York City photographer still grieving her dead father and needing some inspiration and a chef recently cheated on and kicked out of his Dublin restaurant before it could even open.
Together with a cast of great secondary characters, Cordelia and Niall form a reluctant friendship that leads to a hot summer affair neither wants to see end. I enjoyed this one sooo much and highly recommend it for fans of books like Off the map, Last call at the local or the movie Leap year!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy of this latest from a new to me author. I'm excited to read more by Amy Ewing and as someone with Irish heritage, reading this book made me want to go back to Ireland as soon as possible!
Steam level: open door, some spicy scenes!

This was my first book by Amy Ewing and I think I found a new rom-com author to go to. I have been in my “spicy, feel good era” lately and The Irish Goodbye was exactly that.
This book is about a woman who lost her father and is trying to remember who she is or who she wants to become in the aftermath. She travels to a small island in Ireland where she stays in a small cottage to help the “neighborhood crazy lady” (can’t help but picture her as the grandma from Moana 🤷🏼♀️) and meets so many amazing people during her stay.
From the moment the tall black haired man enters the picture you know he’s going to be our MMC. He is also struggling with his own set of losses and his meeting with our MFC does not go very well when he breaks her expensive camera given to her by her dad.
Not to worry though, this soon turns into an enemies to lovers situation once they start to realize they are more alike than they thought… and with a little help from said “neighborhood crazy lady”.
Overall this book was charming and funny and heart warming. It leaves you with a serious case of wanderlust and will have you googling pictures of quaint Ireland villages and day dreaming about rainy Irish nights.
Not only was this my first time with this author but also my first time listening to narration by Keval Shah and June DeBorahae. I think they both did a great job. I do however, have to admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of Keval’s voices for anyone but the main character. His version of the crazy lady especially, was a bit ear piercing. It didn’t stop me from listening though!

Story starts off with Niall bumping into Cordelia while she is taking a photo and he is on his cell. He knocks the camera to the ground and the lens is cracked. Thus their meeting created enemies.
Cordelia is from New York and grieving over the sudden death of her dad. She is struggling with her career as a photographer and needs to a change and goes to Ireland.
Niall is an Irish chef who lost his girlfriend, his restaurant and his best friend at the time. Yes the best friend and girlfriend are together. Niall decided to head back home.
I love the cover and the story had promise but it didn’t work for me. I made a big mistake thinking this was going to be a sweet cozy. I have a low tolerance for profanity.
These Millennials seem to think a sentence consists of a noun, verb and f-bomb.
Although this was disappointing however I wish want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this early audiobook.
Publishing Release Date was May 4, 2024.

This was such a sweet story! The hate to love between Niall and Cordelia was so well done.
All of the side characters on the small little island in Ireland completely brought the story to life! It made me want to hop on a plane for my own little Irish adventure! Don’t even get me started on Pocket, the cutest pup in Ireland!
Cordelia is trying to find her love of photography again after losing her father. When Niall bumps into her and breaks her camera, the two get off to a rocky start. Niall just returned home to help out at his family’s pub after his fiancée cheated on him with his business partner.
There were moments in this book that had me cracking up. The spice was great and the narrators did an amazing job of bringing the chemistry between Niall and Cordelia to life!
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐲𝐞 releases on June 4th! I highly recommend this audiobook for lovers of Irish accents and sweet & spicy romances! Thank you Dreamscape Media for the ALC so that I could share this honest review!
