I like the format and concept of this book. The book is split into 13 sections by challenge, with 5 or 10 devotions on that topic. For example the first section is the challenge "Get to know your Creator" with 10 devotions about getting to know God. The monochromatic (blue) color scheme is pleasant with each spread containing a verse and devotion from one of the guys. At the end of the section, there is a challenge for the student to complete--the first one is camping. There are some hand drawn graphics scattered througout the book. I would have liked the devotions to include prayer prompts or scripture references where the reader can find more in the Bible, or both.

I had access to an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I liked what was in the book, but I would look for something a little more robust for my kids.

This is a teen book to go, for overcoming their fears in adapting in community of friends, and also good to build their faith in Christ. So, a one=to-go survival guide for teens. Must give to your teens.

Our family loves watching JStu videos, so the chance to get The JStu Survival Guide was amazing. We have not fully finished this book but so far we have been loving it. As a parent of active kids, and a teacher, the stories are fun and enticing, while also being real and relatable. I will be buying copies of this as gifts because it is that good.

Thank you Netgalley and Tommy Nelson for an arc of The JStu Survival Guide.
