Traitor, Partners, Schemes, Love:
A lovely story that is filled with two individuals that take us through, many cantankerous moments, thrills, undeniable passion, danger, and many shocking surprises with a most heart rendering last few chapters.
A very wonderful epilogue that brought back all the dukes from the previous books in this delightful series for a grand HEA.
Thank you NetGalley I have enjoyed All of Emily EK Murdoch's books I have read. Mr Snee has come asking Adam to take on a partner when he knows he is still missing his wife who had died years ago working for him. But he winds up with Dottie. They find themselves on the way to Brighton with everyone thinking they are married. As they get to know each other better they fall in love. Then at last they are getting some place with their own relationship and Dottie is attacked. What happens and who do they find that they were looking for in Brighton. Well you really don't want the good parts.
Someone is passing information to the French.
It's a lot more dangerous for those searching for the traitor. Adam, Duke of Gilrody, is still working for the Crown, but the death of his wife, though in the past, is not forgotten. The last thing he wants is a partner to work with to identify the leader of the Glasshand Gang. Dottie Yates isn't discouraged to work with the grumpy duke. Pretending to be husband and wife is the only way for their plan to work. As the identity of the traitor eludes them, fate gives them a second chance. This is more romance than a race to find a traitor. All dukes are accounted for. Mild descriptive sex.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.
Dottie is paired with Adam to try and find the person in charge of the gang that has killed so many people and causing chaos in England. Can Dottie be the person to finally figure it out? I though the beginning of this book was not as good as the end. I felt like it was edited too much and no one went back to reread it to see if it made sense. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
What starts out as a royal fight with lots of banter and shenanigans, ends with a love for the ages. Dottie is on a mission to find the traitor that everyone is looking for. Adam is as well, but definitely NOT with a woman! The banter and pranks are very witty, but it is the chemistry between these two that make this story worth every minute. We finally find out who the traitor is, but not before there is a heartbreaking span of time where Dottie and Adam must find each other again. I adored the epilogue with kind of a wrap up of all involved in the previous books. This is a well written, well thought out story with a little of something for everyone! Loved it!
I received this story for free and these are my own opinions
