This story was my first read of one of Daniel’s books. The reading was easy flowing, but I did find myself somewhat confused as to where it was going. I will try another one of his books though.

This book was amazing. The amount of twists and turns left me unable to put this book down. I had to know where it went! I work in the health care field so I love reading book in that area, especially thrillers. I will be recommending this to anyone who asks and buying the physical copy when it comes out soon!

This is Daniel Hurst back in fighting mode! After a small dip in form with his last book The family trip, Daniel Hurst comes back with a vengeance.
The Perfect Nurse is fast paced (as always) with many cliff hanger chapters or chapter endings that left me saying "what?!" You just have to know what happened next and they just keep on coming. The other fun thing about this book is that it really got me. As an avid thriller reader I'd consider myself not too shabby at coming up with theories (some of which are right to my dismay as I love a good unexpectedly twist) but I did NOT see these ones coming. I had theories but it was no where near!
Plot:
Darcy is a home nurse. When she starts on a new patient Scarlett who suffers from brain damage after an accident, Darcy starts to suspect all is not what it seems. As she crosses the line and starts her own investigation into her new patient, this rollercoaster of a book will take you places you never saw coming.
A quick and addictive page turner. I'm do glad I have the sequel 'The nurse's lie' ready to read!

Darcy and Pippa are nurses. They are looking after a wealthy woman who had a nasty fall, and is now suffering from memory loss. The story starts off slowly but gains momentum throughout. I never read the premise to any of Daniel's books, I just get them and read them. With lots of twists, this gripping read hooked me in and did not let me go until I'd turned the last page. You do need to suspend reality a little, but that's not a bad thing. Darcy is a bit paranoid, she believes that someone is following her, and that someone enters her house at night. I did enjoy the second part of this story more.

This latest book by Daniel Hurst is an interesting one, with a twist, of course.
Darcy is a nurse, with a severe case of memory loss, which resulted after a serious car accident. She has no memories of her past, other than a few random flashbacks.
Her reality now is her work as a home care giver, with her friend Pippa as her co worker. Helping an older woman with similar memory loss issues, Darcy becomes suspicious about this woman and her husband, and what she discovers is nothing we, the reader, ever expected.

This is an entertaining , quick book to read.
A second book in this series is soon to follow!

This is my first Daniel Hurst book and I devoured it in one day. I am mind blown by the twist that I never saw coming. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Darcy Miller and Pippa Simpson are nurses caring for private patients in their own homes. They’re sent to the home of Scarlett Hoffman to help her husband Adrian look after her but from the moment Darcy walks through the door she gets the feeling that there’s something about the house and the people who live in that feels wrong.

I’m a great fan of Daniel Hurst and his thrillers so I’ve been looking forward to reading ‘The Perfect Nurse’. It starts as a straightforward psychological thriller and I was so gripped I read the first half really quickly, but then the plot gets convoluted with the characters’ actions so unbelievable that it took me a bit longer to take it in and understand what was happening. It’s still an enjoyable thriller that I got through in a day although I didn’t think it was quite as good as some of his previous thrillers. But despite this, I’m very much looking forward to reading his next one.

I've never been disappointed by Danuel hurst. I was however thrown by the burb a clever misdirection and changed my expectations of what i would be reading and made it irrelevant.
The story didn't really take off for me until the .middle with the omg curveball twist which blew my mind and explained why this was a part 1 if a series. Darrcy grew on me as the story went on. Pippa seemed a more complex character who I would love to see more of in the future. Some of the final reveal felt a little convenient that all if a sudden it came together. However this was realistic. I'm left anticipating rhe next one. Feeling sad it's over but want to see where this goes as the ending gives so many options. I wanted so much more. As always 5 star highly recommended but I would suggest the burb is revisited as its not what is says on the tin and alrhough misdirection works you have to read the whole book to get it.which is clever ut many disappoint readers expecting a mote killer based read.

Very entertaining read. I enjoyed the aspect of a nurse being the main character as you typically see them in a hero light. The twists kept me on the edge of my seat!

I did enjoy the twists in this book and how they kept coming. But I did find the 1st half of the book slow and wish things started happening sooner . In terms of the character being a nurse, it was not believable and lacked some medical knowledge .

Wow-this is the first book I have read by this author. What a treat full of plot twists and turns, and great characters. It's a recommended read.

I've read multiple books by this author, and I was so excited to read a new one and especially one about a nurse since I am one, but this book was just a little bit too all over the place for me. Lots of unexpected plot twists, but also it's almost too much to where it just causes the story line to be chaotic and some character development to really fall short. It would not be the first book by this author that I would recommend but I was happy for the chance to read it!

This is my first book from Daniel Hursts and I have to say I didn’t see it coming at all towards the end of the book. Throughout the whole story did wonders, the way each character was captured was wonderfully done. I usually suspect the “villain” of the story or the “why” and I didn’t suspect it at all with this one. Definitely a lot of twists and entertaining through out every chapter. I highly recommend

This was my first book by this author and it reminds me of reading something similar to F. McFadden. You're not going to get great writing but you'll have a pretty fun time. This was a good popcorn thriller with a few decent twists. Even though I could see some of the twists coming I didn't mind because it was entertaining. I would highly recommend this for a quick read for the beach or a vacation. You'll have fun but won't think about it again after you're finished.

I was torn on how to rate this one. I really struggled at the start of the book but the twists as we got further on definately helped.

I read the first 30% within an hour in one sitting so that goes to show how easy to read it is, but I genuinely struggled to pick it back up again after that. I commented to my wife as I was reading that it felt like this was Darcys first day on earth, that she was learning how to be a human and somehow forgot her life before page 1. That she interacts with those around her in such a tactless manner im not sure how any patient or her family would find it acceptable. In hindsight this makes far more sense.

The twist of her forgetting her life made her actions seem far more understandable, but even then she jumped to conclusions so fast I'm not sure if she lost her logic along with her memories. The actions of most of the characters require a bit of suspension of logic for me too, but after putting that aside it's a pretty good thriller read and I'm glad I powered through and got to the twists.

I really enjoyed this twisty, gripping book and the short chapters made it a quick and easy read. The characters were all a mystery to me at first and had me guessing which, if any of them, were who they appeared to be. I was deeply suspicious of the main character, Darcy the nurse whose behaviour was very odd to say the least but it all became clear, as the story progressed, why she was that way. The twists in this were huge and unexpected and the final scenes were real heart racing stuff! I can't wait for the follow up book that is due out later this year. Darcy is a nurse who starts a new role caring for a patient at home after they were in an accident and consequently suffering memory loss. Darcy feels something isn’t quite right and sets it upon herself to find out why.

I haven’t read many Daniel Hurst books but have heard so much about him that I thought it’s about time I read some more. After reading this I am pleased I did and can see why his stories are so popular. I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t sure at first as the first half was a bit slow and I felt like not much happened. I also found some of the interactions unbelievable. but by the half way point the story goes in ways I never expected, explaining some of the off points and I found the rest of the story entertaining.

This is most certainly an easy, twisty read, however some parts are quite unbelievable and the story is a bit disjointed. Although I look forward to reading the second in the series. 3.5 rounded down. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

Daniel Hurst is one of my favorite thriller authors. His books are fun and I love that they are affordable. For less than $1.50, you have hours of entertainment!

That said, The Perfect Nurse was an okay read for me. Here are my thoughts:

* Repeating concepts or things. The first chapter mentioned coffee so much that it was distracting. I kept reading only because I like the author.
* The first twist is too obvious and the second twist wasn't very exciting.
* Okay characters.

While I like the writing style. this story wasn't that intriguing to me.
