I received this book complimentary from NetGalley but all opinions are my own.

Interesting plot and setting. I enjoyed the scene where Charlie fakes an identity. So so funny. I hate communication problems but I do feel this makes up for that!

Thank you to NetGalley and Anna Harbom for the e-ARC.

I really enjoyed reading it. Excellent plot and story, which is extremely easy to read. I also enjoyed the characters. What I liked best about Seat Mates is how it captures the wonder of chance and the idea that one moment may lead to something much bigger. The plot covers themes of discovery of oneself, taking risks, and the unexpected directions life can go in a fun yet meaningful way.

Thanks to the author and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have ABSOLUTELY ADORED this book. Like OMG, it is now one of my favourite romcoms along the likes of Alie Hazelwood and Julie Soto. A terrific book with lovely and entertaining but still realistic plot with three dimensional characters and swoon-worthy scenes.

I was enchanted by the story and the characters and had a fantastic time while reading this book. I will definitely be following the author and reading their next books.

Perfect summer read.

this was a really great read. it has me laughing and crying and just feeling everything from the main characters. they were entertainment. i knew what was going to happen but even still the attraction the two had for one another was undeniable.

they had a really great meet cute flicking each other of all the airport. then getting sick next to each other in the same flight and then in the same hotel in the room next to each other, totally priceless.

i loved the way he was there for her from the very beginning though, the attraction was strong and he still held out making that foreplay so much stronger.

really great read.

4.5/5 Stars (rounded up to 5)
1.5/5 Spice

A laywer for evil people meets a vegetarian bear and wildlife conservationist, cuteness and drama ensue, they fall in love.

Anna Harbom's Seat Mates is an airport meet cute that makes you want to kick your feet and giggle. I thought this book was incredibly charming, I giggled at the coincidences that were obviously leading up to a set-up from fate.

Daisy is on her way to her mom's wedding, and despite her best efforts (and a run-in with a Beamer that cuts her off), she ends up making her flight. OH! And her seat mate is the handsome driver of the Beamer who cut her off.

Charles Bond (of no relation to James) is on his way to DC for work, and the woman driving the Mini Cooper who flipped him off is stalking him? No, but the running joke they have is adorable and he loves it (and maybe her?).

There's a lot that goes down the week of Daisy's mom's wedding. She constantly ends up running into Charlie, and she might actually like him?

What an adorable read, I devoured this book in a couple days.

This is a story about Daisy and Charlie, aka Mini and Beamer. They had a run-in at the airport which turned sour. Same day they found out they were seat mates on the plane. They managed to get over their previous altercation and had a pleasant time by the time they got off the plane.

That was not to be the end of their time together as they bumped into each other in the same hotel. They were even next door neighbours on their floor. A connection developed and Charlie helped Daisy during a time when her life was so complicated.

I do wish there was more to their relationship aside from helping Daisy with her mum issues. The ending also felt rushed and a bit too cheesy. That said, this was a good debut.

Thank you to Netgalley and Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. It's out now.

Daisy and Charles have an interesting meet-cute on their way to the airport. Though it doesn’t start off on a good note, they end up becoming somewhat friendly to each other onboard their three hour flight from Denver to DC as seat mates.

Fate brings them together again and Charles ends up being her tour guide in DC. It was fun to tour the area through the book as I have never visited before.

The pace is fast and over the weekend, from being friends they start to fake date as Daisy brings him to her mum’s wedding as her plus one. The chemistry is explosive and I loved the banter between this couple!

Along with the romance, we learn more about Daisy’s relationship with her mum and it was a joy to see how the resolution came to be. Charlie is definitely one amazing guy, who is willing to stand with her, while allowing Daisy to fight her own battles, as the strong woman that she is!

This book is an absolute gem that hooked me from the start. Daisy and Charlie’s chemistry is undeniable, and their push-and-pull dynamic is both heartwarming and frustrating in the best way. The meet-on-a-flight, heading-to-a-wedding setup is exactly the kind of swoon-worthy romance I’ve always wanted to read, full of hilarious moments and sweet scenes.

Daisy is funny, relatable, and one of my new favorite characters. Her and Charlie's story goes beyond your typical fake dating sitch, with deeper themes of self-worth and acceptance that make it truly unforgettable.

The family relationships, especially between Daisy and her mother, were truly heartmelting. This book left me smiling, laughing, and eager to read more from this author!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Anna Harbom for the ARC of Seat Mates by Anna Harbom!

Read this description and thought it would be a cutesy book. It turned out this book was a very enjoyable read with depth and characters with layers to them. There is Daisy, and you know she has history with Rob but the details aren’t clear, but somehow her mom is involved. Insert Charlie, her seat mate on a flight from Denver to DC. Charlie seems to be just the easy, lighthearted kind of guy that will only be there for a moment. As the book goes on the layers keep getting peeled back as you learn more about Daisy and Charlie, along with their evolving connections.

The romance connection in this book has been one of the best I’ve read in a long time. I actually thought for the 1st part of the book that what one expected to happen wouldn’t. And than had all romance readers know, there is the fall out moment. This book actually had you thinking it wasn’t going to come. Anna Harbom had a way of writing that made you think that all the moments you expect in a romance book just weren’t going to come.

Loved this fake dating rom com. Plenty of humour and a good plot. A very interesting read! Pick up if you want something different to the average rom com.

Perhaps one of the highest compliments I can bestow upon contemporary romance today: this one didn't feel overly trope-y. The characters actually drove this story.

Let's star with the plot though. I love soap operas, so I adored the premise of this one. The guy you flipped off while driving becomes your ally as your mom marries her affair partner, who happens to be the dad of your ex fiancé? SCORE. The "fake date" did not drag on; it quickly turned into real dates with real chemistry. Though the eventual falling out and third act break-up was predictable, it still felt satisfying as the characters felt real emotions in the aftermath.

Daisy made a very compelling character as someone who just wants to repair the world. Her desire to feel wanted and loved was relatable and well-written. Charlie was an even better book boyfriend, as someone with real regrets and a real desire to surpass his upbringing. The eventual message of class as a driver helped to humanize Daisy and humanize the conflict between the couple as more than just romance book fodder. Despite the soap opera plot, the characters were not soap-y in the least. Don't let the cartoon cover and blurb fool you: this book has a lot of depth, and the characters are the forefront of it.

Were there some things that could be better? Of course. Did we constantly need reminders of just how small Daisy was? Nope, it was a bit too pick-me. But if you can push that to the side, you have an utterly delightful romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Anna Harbom for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a cute, fun read and like others have said I could easily see this as your next favorite made for Netflix rom com.

Daisy and Charlie have a meet not cute in the airport parking lot, and again on the plane, before their meet cute staying in the same hotel (her mother's wedding and him for work). Funnily enough, their rooms are of course right next to each other. Nervous about seeing her ex and his new gf (because plot twist, they broke up.when his dad started seeing her mom), we see Daisy opening up to Charlie and him supporting her being her fake boyfriend for the wedding before admitting actually, he wants a real date and lifting her up through the course of the book. And y'all it was just the sweetest! I loved watching Charlie and Daisy fall head over heels for each other. Though a quick timeline, in the grand scheme of things it really felt completely naturally for what we see of them individually and as a couple.

The book overall is on the short side and I would have loved a dual POV and a slightly less rushed third act resolution and an actual epilogue but overall, thoroughly enjoyed this one sitting read!

Seat Mates by Anna Harbom is a charming and heartfelt read that delivers a perfect blend of humor, warmth, and romance. The story centers around two strangers who find themselves seated next to each other on a long flight, only to discover that this seemingly random encounter might just change their lives.

Harbom does a fantastic job of creating relatable characters with quirks and flaws that make them feel real. The dialogue is witty, and the banter between the main characters is engaging, drawing you into their evolving relationship. The pacing is just right, allowing the connection between the characters to develop naturally, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and emotional depth along the way.

What I particularly enjoyed about Seat Mates is how it captures the magic of serendipity and the idea that a single moment can lead to something much bigger. The story is lighthearted yet meaningful, with themes of self-discovery, taking chances, and the unexpected paths life can take.

Overall, Seat Mates is a delightful read that’s perfect for anyone who loves a good romantic comedy with well-drawn characters and a plot that feels both fresh and satisfying. Anna Harbom has crafted a story that’s easy to get lost in, making it a great pick for a cozy afternoon or a weekend getaway.

Thank You NetGalley for giving the arc for this book!

I have always loved the met at an airport trope!! This was such a fun quick read. This was very light hearted and I just loved the MMC. The banter was so good.

Daisy is not excited about her mother’s wedding in DC. She’s running late to the airport to catch her flight when she’s cut off by a BMW. She flips him the bird and continues on, rushing to the boarding gate. She gets to her seat and who is her seat mate? None other than BMW man. The banter is great the whole flight, and they run into each other again of course. She finds out his name is Charles and they stay friends for the wedding weekend. Or will it lead to more?

This book was so cute. Read it in a day because I enjoyed the characters so much. Thank you to Net Galley and Anna Harbom for the ARC!
