Traveling fun right? Daisy on her way to her mother's wedding, she get's cut off by a man and guess who she gets to sit next to! Totally my luck! I loved this so much the story was so cute, funny and sarcastic! Chance encounter on a plane we have all had them! This one is such a heartwarming journey. Highly recommended!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! We are brought straight into the story on page 1! I enjoyed the tension of the romance and the emotional aspect of navigating a difficult relationship with her mom. There were several parts that had me actually laughing out loud and some parts that were surprisingly sad. In my opinion it was a good ratio that left me feeling more uplifted than anything. The book is a great length and a quick and fun read. I would love to see more from this author!
This was a super cute and easy read. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Charlie and Daisy. Charlie was a breath of fresh air when it came to boosting Daisy’s confidence when standing up for herself. She always had it internally but avoided ever expressing it. Especially to the ones she loves the most. Her mother was insufferable. Personally I think the author let her mom off the hook pretty easy with what happened between them. I also didn’t dislike Rob. At first I was indifferent about him but as the conversations were had and he started to really internalize how others handle situations differently he started to get better. I really think people will enjoy this story if they want something that’s not overly complicated but has just the right amount of tension in it.
Thank you Netgalley and Anna for the chance to read this story!
This turned out to be a much more emotional read than I thought it would be. I related to the relationship with Daisy and her mom so much. Charlie tells her she is the child, her mother is the adult, that's something I say all the time to myself.
Charlie is simply the sweetest man ever. The way he spoke to Daisy had me swooning. I didn’t like the 3rd act conflict but understood why Daisy was so upset. However, reuniting with like 5 minutes left in the book and everything is just gravy kinda threw me.
Overall, it was really cute. Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author Anna Harbom for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed this book, I rate it a 3.75/5 ⭐️ (rounded to a 4⭐️). I LOVED the tension from when they met, definitely seems like something I would do while driving 😂.
Seat Mates was such a quick paced book but it was so much fun while touching on tough subjects. I was SHOCKED at the first plot twist and I couldn’t put it down from there (I did NOT see it coming).
I was rooting for Daisy and Charlie from the start, I loved how Charlie was supporting Daisy with the wedding and coming to terms with everything that had happened. As well as making light hearted jokes towards the wedding guests to help Daisy feel comfortable.
The conflict towards the end is usual for a romance but I really wished we could’ve had more of their relationship in Denver 🥺.
I would highly recommend this book if you love a book filled with great tropes, e.g. airport romance, meet-cute, enemies to lovers, fake relationship, plus more).
Quite possibly the perfect summer romance read?
Classic airport meet cute in a non conventional way. Daisy is on her way to DC for her mother's wedding and meets Charlie during her travels. Charlie may have the world's best timing and pops back into Daisy's life right when she needs someone. This wedding is messy in more than one way and he helps Daisy navigate the dreaded weekend. This would be a fairytale "what happens in ___ stays in ___" however they're both travelling back to the same city so why should it have to be a one time thing?
My only negative feedback on this book is the fact it's the author's first and I can't dive into her backlog *crying*
This was a super sweet, light romcom but it also touched on some heavier issues and made me develop some actual strong feelings towards the MCs. I loved the humor in this book so much, the banter, the history, the character development, honestly everything. I'm so excited for the world to get to read Anna's debut novel!

Such a fun book! The forced proximity, strangers to friends to lovers, fate, insta-love(ish) vibe worked extremely well! I really enjoyed the writing but I so wish we could’ve had Charlie’s perspective too. Daisy’s growth is so great to read and I think it was such an important aspect of the story. Daisy and Charlie had instant chemistry and their banter was incredible from the beginning. The only place I found issue with was the end because it seemed to wrap up very quickly and I wanted more to the development and insight into their Denver relationship. But overall, this book was super cute and I really enjoyed it!
Thank you to NetGalley and Anna Harbom for this ARC!!
Seat Mates was a fun and easy read! The book was a breath of fresh air!
Daisy and Charlie had the exact right amount of banter going on between them all the way through the book.
They were both heading to the airport and a slight mishap of sorts between them as they were driving was how they met. They were on the same flight, and wouldn’t you know they were sitting next to each other on the flight. Daisy was on the way to her mother’s wedding, and she was not excited about that but knew she had to be there.
This was a book that will be a perfect beach read. I look forward to reading more books by Anna Harbom.
Thank you NetGalley and Anna Harbom for the ARC of Seat Mates. This is my personal review.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I love a good forced proximity plot, which I feel keeps the plot moving forward. This was a light read with lots of plot to cover.
This story made me so happy. So much self discovery in multiple characters. It was a nice change of pace with the meet cute!!
Thank you to NetGalley for early access to Seat Mates! It was so much fun to read this story.
Daisy and Charlie are so cute together. They meet outside the airport on the way to DC and keep bumping into each other during their visit, as their chemistry and tension grows. I laughed with them and smiled through so much of the book. It's so sweet and a really good time! They're both joyful characters and I think it was fun to watch them fall in love.
Some of the drama around Daisy and her mother felt a little over the top - but I think in order to prove a point, it had to be. I think, despite not all being rich adults like her mother, we can identify with the struggles in relationships - especially with our parents.
Overall, a fun summer romance read!
On her way to the airport to get to her mom’s wedding, Daisy gets cut off in traffic. After giving the driver the bird, and hurrying through the airport, she arrives at her seat, only to find the driver that cut her off, Charlie, is her seat mate. They strike up an unlikely friendship, and Daisy finds herself opening up to Charlie about her messy life, and the things she struggles with. After learning about how messy the wedding is, and finding out Daisy has to see her ex and his new girlfriend at the wedding, Charlie offers to be Daisy’s date to her mother’s wedding and other festivities. As she and Charlie get closer, the harder it is for them to deny their chemistry.
Seat Mates grabbed my attention from the start and Anna Harbom had me rooting for Daisy and Charlie from the beginning. The chemistry between Daisy and Charlie is undeniable. The mother-daughter relationship is one that many may recognize. The drama of the story is great, as I always love to read some good family drama. The book was an easy, fun read, and I would recommend it!

First, I would like to thank Anna Harbom, NetGalley and the publisher for this eArc in exchange for an honest review.
Seat Mates" by Anna Harbom follows Daisy Thomas on her journey to her mother’s wedding. En route, she meets the infuriating yet irresistibly charming Charlie Bond on the airplane, who unexpectedly becomes her anchor through a difficult wedding weekend. Charlie was so sweet!
The premise of this book was intriguing to me and set the stage for a heartfelt, emotional romance. Daisy and Charlie's connection was both believable and well-paced. The novel tackles several serious topics for a romance book but it was done with care however I do wish that this book didn’t delve so deeply into serious topics considering the short length of this book.
For a novel of its length, it often veered into discussions on trivial matters and provided excessive information on irrelevant details. This took away from the core of the book and sometimes felt overwhelming. Daisy's relationship with her mother is complex and relatable, but her mother's actions and the lack of sufficient remorse on her part was frustrating.
Despite this, Harbom's writing showcases potential. The good ideas woven throughout the book hint at a promising future for the author. While "Seat Mates" may have its flaws, it remains an emotional read with moments of genuine connection and care.
You know that saying that everyone is more attractive at the airport? This book captures that fantasy and more. I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did, I was hooked from the first chapter! Daisy and Charlie's journey made me feel light and fluffy, made me laugh, and I'll be thinking about this book for a long long time.
What a great story! Thanks to NetGalley and Anna Harbom for an advanced reader copy of this story. I really enjoyed the dialogue between Daisy and Charlie as well as the storyline. The writing is witty (I laughed out loud ❤️), the tension palpable, and the characters well developed. I look forward to reading the next story by this author-this was an immersive and pleasurable read!
First of all, I want to thank Anna Harbom, the Publisher, and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoy the romance, but I think that in such a short novel (only 200 pages) there is too much talking, too much information and too much self-psychoanalyzing!
The relationship between Daisy and her mother is really cumbersome, and the budding romance between her and Charlie ends up being sacrificed. That’s such a pity because they are great together.
There some really good ideas and that’s why I would like to read something more from Anna Harbom.

♡ Emotional romance
♡ Chance encounter
♡ Enemies turned friends turned lovers
What a strong debut. At first I was concerned that the main characters were a pinch problematic, but once their motivations and backgrounds became clear, it made sense to me. At the end I actually really liked that they were a bit messy and complicated in the beginning as it made for realistic character growth throughout the book, which was very well done 👏 The emotional connection between Daisy and Charlie was also very believable.
Overall I felt the book only got better as it went and there are a lot of twists to keep you hooked.
It deals with pretty heavy topics for a romance book, which I personally really enjoyed. The emotional aspect and complicated family dynamics were handled with so much care and it honestly did make me cry 🤧
I would definitely recommend this for a heartfelt read and some comic relief sprinkled in 💛💫
I loved loved loved Seat Mates! The visuals throughout were amazing, the chemistry was amazingly written and the entire thing took me two days to read. I was completely hooked. I will be looking out for Anna Harbom’s next works.
‘“Stop trying to charm me, Beamer.” Only when you stop looking so in need of being charmed.’
Daisy Thomas is on her way to her mother’s wedding in Georgetown, something she has been dreading for months. While on her way she meets the infuriating and infuriatingly gorgeous Charlie Bond, who ends up being just what she needs to get her through the wedding weekend from hell.
This book. Woah.
It’s quite hard to write about this book without giving away too much, but it turned out to be nothing like I thought it would (in a good way!) I thought I was just going to get a plane based rom-com but what I got was so much more.
The drama, the heartbreak, the heartfelt moments, the banter. Just… so good.
The storyline itself is not something I’ve read before, don’t get me wrong I’ve read mother/daughter relationship issues before, but it is really highlighted in this book and handled so well. It was very much a story on self reflection and boundaries with a budding romance thrown in there too.
I really enjoyed how well it was written, certain paragraphs were quite beautiful to read. It flowed nicely throughout and overall I would really recommend.
I have to give this one 5 stars, I absolutely flew through it. I could not put this book down. It was so enjoyable, fake dating, meeting in flight in an airport, and the FMC overcoming something and growing into herself. I'm also happy that although the MMC is swoonworthy, he is not perfect... but close to ;)
Daisy is traveling to DC for her mother's wedding when she meets Charlie by chance, of course. He ends up sitting next to her on the flight, and they banter back and forth... and the banter 😍 loved it so much. The entire book they banter and bicker back and forth, and I love that in romcoms.
This story was so enjoyable, and it was a fun short read. Definitely recommend if you need a light and enjoyable romcom in your life.
