Thank you NetGallery and publisher for the ARC.

I've been really looking forward to this book because the cover and title sounded just my cup of tea... A nice cheesy little rom com but within this book it includes afew dramas that makes this book even more enjoyable.

This truthfully was a lovely enjoyable read!

First I’d like to thank NetGalley and Anna for the opportunity to read her an arc of her upcoming book. In exchange for my honest review .

Let me start out by saying this book was enjoyable . The love story was super cute and the characters really stick with you ❤️ however , what I loved most about this book was the complexity of the mother daughter relationship, as someone who struggles with insecurities and also has a similar issue with my own mom. This book really hit home. It shows that you are beautiful for who you are and not how others see you. It also gave a good example about how destructive it is being in an unhealthy relationship but allowing it due to quilt and love.
My only reason for the rating it so low is because some parts feel so rushed and not written out well. The ending especially, it just felt like she skipped so much and I was just reading a summary. I also would have liked more details in the beginning. All in all though I really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone looking for a cute short read ❤️

So completely charming! One of my favorites so far this year.

This book hits on almost all levels - the chemistry is great, the pacing is on point, and the characters are well-defined and completely lovable. This is a relatively short read, coming in at around 150 pages, but it’s full of wit, wisdom, and romance.

I am Daisy, in so many ways. There’s a fine line between a gracious person and a complete doormat. It’s easy to define the issue, and harder to learn how to define boundaries. I related to her so much.

Charlie is sweet, protective, and emotionally intelligent (!!!) without coming off as unrealistic or the embodiment of wish-fufillment created for the female gaze.

4.5 stars, rounded to 5.

Thanks so much to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of this book, provided in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

I truly enjoyed this book! I feel as though the author had a very good tempo and pace of the book! Stressful things happened but it didn’t make me stressed out, which is huge. It just made me want to keep reading to find out what happened! I would recommend if you’re looking for an easy heartfelt read. Thank you to NetGalley and Anna Harbom for this free ARC!

As a professional marketer for many years, I think this book's cover and description don't fully portray the content of this novel. I loved the first 20% of the novel where the characters were introduced, the meet-cute happened and the airplane ride brought potential. After the plane ride was over, I wondered how the title would continue to play it's part and it didn't deliver. The book description is also misleading to explicit content within the book.

In a 5-point story model for book writing, I found this novel felt rushed in the end. The final act brought an onslaught of character background information that felt overwhelming and many details felt thrown in to bring the story full-circle.

I know a lot of work goes into writing a novel, so I want to make sure I'm being as constructive as possible in my review. As a debut novel, I think there is still good content here that readers will connect with.

I admit I wasn't expecting to like it so much! It was a good surprise, a light and cute reading with a very fluid writing. I will definitely read more about the author because I became a fan!!!
I loved the couple's chemistry, I loved the fake dating trope and I loved the unfolding of the story.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author Anna Harbom for this book ARC along with letting me review it as well. This book was a lovable three star read that had a amazing wedding romance setting. Seat Mates was a novel that had great chemistry and banter that had you laughing out of your seats from funny scenes. This book releases on July 20th 2024.

Thank you NetGalle and Anna Harbom for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The cover and title make it seem like a semi cheesy rom-com (which I LOVE) but it included a decent amount of family/relationship complications, some mother manipulation, personal growth and self discovery.

Daisy and Charlie find themselves racing to the airport and wind up in a little road rage situation. Daisy is mortified to then find out she is sitting next to the man who almost hit her and who she flipped off.

During the flight Charlie cannot help but mess with Daisy and they eventually fall into an banter.

Somehow they find themselves staying at the same hotel. And to make matters more complicated, Daisy is there for her mother’s wedding and it’s the last place she wants to be.

I really enjoyed this story and the perspective Daisy gained about herself and her relationship with mother. I liked how communicative Charlie was and that this wasn’t a wild in your face insta love despite the fact that they felt strong feelings fast. I’m glad they pivoting away from fake dating quickly and the third act was done well.

I loved this book from the very beginning! It was a relatively short read. I finished it in a day. Daisy and Charlie's meet-cute was the best thing ever. Daisy and Charlie's first encounter at the airport was off to a rocky start. Finding themselves seated next to eachother on the plane, they begin to ease up and allow themselves to be friendly with one another. Charlie becomes a support for Daisy during a tough time and their quick friendship also quickly becomes more.

Daisy's character has been through a lot, but she is an extremely caring and forgiving person. Her bubbliness and humor is to die for. She is truly special. I also loved Charlie's character because you can tell how much he cares for and wants to protect Daisy. He sees her for who she is and is there to help her be brave. Their relationship development seemed so natural. They brought out the best version of eachother and I love that for them.

The story does progress really quickly with lots of surprising moments and things revealed much later on when you're antsy to know much earlier. The side characters are well written to shape Daisy, giving a glimpse into what her life has been like before this story. Her best friend is someone I'd love to have in my life, pumping me up and encouraging me to stand my ground. Overall, I enjoyed this sweet story!

I was drawn to this book based on the cover, but it turns out that the cover is utterly misleading. The amount of time that the main characters are actually seat mates is so relatively short I wonder why this particular point was chosen as the title.

The two main characters, Daisy and Charlie were relatable, and their chemistry was believable.

This was a very simple read, easily finished in an hour.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in return for my honest review.

This book was so cute and such a good quick read!

The book is set in DC, and as someone who lives here, it was fun to see all of the DC locations - and it felt pretty accurate!

Both MCs are also very cute and lovable, and following along with them on their enemies to friends to fake dating to lover journey and seeing both of their personal growth made for an enjoyable story.

The only downside of this book is that I felt like the main ‘twist’ was pretty predictable, so it made it easy to see where it was going.

There was also a mini third act communication issue, but it was done in a very realistic way that didn’t feel frustrating - instead of one thing being blown out of proportion, it was a few hours of anger and bad timing.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, and can’t wait to see what’s next for this author!

What a gem of a debut romance! The initial meet cute of our MC’s was fun and the description of that TSA line was on point. I was quickly invested in finding out the backstory with Daisy not wanting to attend her mom’s wedding, which I did predict before it was revealed but surprisingly that didn’t impact my emotional response. The way Charlie boosts up Daisy’s confidence and has her back throughout everything happening during this crazy wedding weekend was swoon worthy. I resonated with Daisy’s people pleaser personality too, standing up for yourself can be a hard lesson to learn, and sometimes even harder with loved ones! I loved the Washington, D.C. setting too, most likely because I live not too far away and knew many of the location references. I do wish we had gotten an epilogue or something a little more detailed towards the end about how things played out a bit down the road for these characters, but was pleased we at least had a little snapshot.

I can tell Anna Harbom will be on my authors to look for list in the future! If you’re on the hunt for a heartfelt romantic comedy this summer then this would be an excellent pick (releases July 20th!). It’s definitely a good, quick vacation read!

Thank you NetGalley and author Anna Harbom for providing me this ARC. It was a pleasure to read and share my thoughts!

This book had great potential. I loved the premise and wished there had been more banter, etc while they were on the plane. It seemed to be glossed over too much for the name of the book to be Seat Mates.

I struggled with the unbelievability of the story regarding her mom's wedding and the situation with her ex. It was really weird.

I did like the chemistry between the main characters and enjoyed their interactions.

There was an inappropriate joke about mental health that really hit me wrong. I'm guessing other people probably just read it and moved on, but as someone who has struggled with mental health for years, it really stuck out. There could have been much funnier ways to joke about the state of her hotel room than to joke about poor mental health.

Obsessed with this book! Loved it from start to finish. I also love a story where the male character empowers the woman, but then she realizes she can do it all on her own. As someone who has a similar relationship with my mom this resonated with me. I’m
Glad that Daisy came into her own at the end. A fabulous romcom!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC:
4.5/5
This is such a wonderful read! I loved the relationship and formation, this could definitely be a rom com movie. There are hilarious moments that make it so enjoyable.

There is a 3rd act breakup, which isn’t my favorite thing in the world, but it’s done well here where it’s not immediately resolved. I can appreciate that as it adds drama and conflict—- some sort of substance to the overall book.

I found myself truly rooting for these characters!

This book was SO good! I couldn't put it down. I love stories where you get to watch the main character start to feel comfortable in their own skin after facing a lot of difficult situations so this story was right up my alley. Daisy and Charlie were so perfect for each other!!

I absolutely loved Seat Mates by Anna Harbom! I started this book hoping I could pace my way through, but I could not! I devoured this novel in one sitting and stayed up until the early hours of the morning to find out what happened. Daisy and Charlie initial airport foes to newfound friends are well written and interesting characters with captivating banter. I enjoyed every bit of this story and think this will be a book I will reach for again! Thank you to NetGalley and Anna Harbom for the ARC!

This might be the first romance I've read where a hint of instalove/instalust works for me. Charlie and Daisy had adorable chemistry from minute one, and because I was reading a romance book, I was willing to overlook the insane amount of coincidences that brought them together. Charlie was a thoughtful and doting MMC, and Daisy's reaction to the "dumpster fire" she was dealing with was relatable.

The (minor spoilers) third-act-breakup, however, felt unnecessary and a bit of a step too far in the "coincidences" column. In addition, the resolution of conflict between Daisy and her mother felt a bit forced in my opinion. Overall, while I greedily sped through the beginning of the book, I only found myself speeding through the last 15% in the hopes to get past all the drama.

The first ¾ of the book was incredibly sweet and fun though, making it an easy 4 stars.

Seat Mates was such a sweet, delightful read! I am so beyond thankful for having the opportunity to read and review this ARC from netgalley!

This book hooks up from the moment you start it. It has that cliché enemies to lovers events in which you just can't help but giggle because you know how it will end between the two silly love birds!

And then they keep bumping into each other, over and over, and over again. Until they can't help but get involved in each other's reasons for being in DC.

From traffic encouters, to seat mates to friends... to lovers, we follow Daisy and Charles story unravel.

Daisy is the character you can help but feel for her. You want to fight her battles, protect her and praise her when she overcomes everything thrown her way. She has such grace, and such funny compelling inner monologues. With her POV throughout the book you see the world through her eyes. From rose colored people pleaser moments to finally putting her foot down and standing her ground.

Daisy is charming, caring, positive, funny, and kind. A tiny girl and her big luggage ready to survive through her mom's wedding all by herself. But then she meets Charlie.

If you ask me what I look for in a men, I would just give you this book and introduce you to Charles. That's the type of partner I want in my corner. This is the person I want to accidentally meet and purposely keep in my life forever. He is kind, considerate, and he is ALWAYS there for Daisy. He shows his struggles and he is very careful with both his feelings and Daisy's.

Daisy and Charles falling in love is so natural, so sweet, so slowly beautifully forming. But this book also brings up so many family dynamics and subjectives to light you really have a deep connection with the story and contemplate a lot of different topics as you read the book. Daisy and her unbalanced relationship with her mother, Daisy and her ex seeing each other and having to be around each other since the break-up, Charlie's past and how it molded who he is today..

This book is really deep, emotional and sincere, but also very funny, lighthearted and romantic. I am beyond grateful it has crossed my path. Seat Mates was such a sweet, delightful read! I am so beyond thankful for having the opportunity to read and review this ARC from netgalley!
