Thank you NetGalley for the ARC:
4.5/5
This is such a wonderful read! I loved the relationship and formation, this could definitely be a rom com movie. There are hilarious moments that make it so enjoyable.

There is a 3rd act breakup, which isn’t my favorite thing in the world, but it’s done well here where it’s not immediately resolved. I can appreciate that as it adds drama and conflict—- some sort of substance to the overall book.

I found myself truly rooting for these characters!

This book was SO good! I couldn't put it down. I love stories where you get to watch the main character start to feel comfortable in their own skin after facing a lot of difficult situations so this story was right up my alley. Daisy and Charlie were so perfect for each other!!

I absolutely loved Seat Mates by Anna Harbom! I started this book hoping I could pace my way through, but I could not! I devoured this novel in one sitting and stayed up until the early hours of the morning to find out what happened. Daisy and Charlie initial airport foes to newfound friends are well written and interesting characters with captivating banter. I enjoyed every bit of this story and think this will be a book I will reach for again! Thank you to NetGalley and Anna Harbom for the ARC!

This might be the first romance I've read where a hint of instalove/instalust works for me. Charlie and Daisy had adorable chemistry from minute one, and because I was reading a romance book, I was willing to overlook the insane amount of coincidences that brought them together. Charlie was a thoughtful and doting MMC, and Daisy's reaction to the "dumpster fire" she was dealing with was relatable.

The (minor spoilers) third-act-breakup, however, felt unnecessary and a bit of a step too far in the "coincidences" column. In addition, the resolution of conflict between Daisy and her mother felt a bit forced in my opinion. Overall, while I greedily sped through the beginning of the book, I only found myself speeding through the last 15% in the hopes to get past all the drama.

The first ¾ of the book was incredibly sweet and fun though, making it an easy 4 stars.

Seat Mates was such a sweet, delightful read! I am so beyond thankful for having the opportunity to read and review this ARC from netgalley!

This book hooks up from the moment you start it. It has that cliché enemies to lovers events in which you just can't help but giggle because you know how it will end between the two silly love birds!

And then they keep bumping into each other, over and over, and over again. Until they can't help but get involved in each other's reasons for being in DC.

From traffic encouters, to seat mates to friends... to lovers, we follow Daisy and Charles story unravel.

Daisy is the character you can help but feel for her. You want to fight her battles, protect her and praise her when she overcomes everything thrown her way. She has such grace, and such funny compelling inner monologues. With her POV throughout the book you see the world through her eyes. From rose colored people pleaser moments to finally putting her foot down and standing her ground.

Daisy is charming, caring, positive, funny, and kind. A tiny girl and her big luggage ready to survive through her mom's wedding all by herself. But then she meets Charlie.

If you ask me what I look for in a men, I would just give you this book and introduce you to Charles. That's the type of partner I want in my corner. This is the person I want to accidentally meet and purposely keep in my life forever. He is kind, considerate, and he is ALWAYS there for Daisy. He shows his struggles and he is very careful with both his feelings and Daisy's.

Daisy and Charles falling in love is so natural, so sweet, so slowly beautifully forming. But this book also brings up so many family dynamics and subjectives to light you really have a deep connection with the story and contemplate a lot of different topics as you read the book. Daisy and her unbalanced relationship with her mother, Daisy and her ex seeing each other and having to be around each other since the break-up, Charlie's past and how it molded who he is today..

This book is really deep, emotional and sincere, but also very funny, lighthearted and romantic. I am beyond grateful it has crossed my path. Seat Mates was such a sweet, delightful read! I am so beyond thankful for having the opportunity to read and review this ARC from netgalley!

This was such a feel good read, I smiled through it, (and laughed a decent amount too).

Daisy is one of my favourite book characters for a long time. She is funny and relatable and an excellent POV character.

I really like Charles. He felt like realistic while still being a knight in shining armour type. I liked the way he took the opportunity and the way he thrived in this book.

I love the storyline of this. It was the perfect marriage between the fantasy needed for a romance novel and realism needed to keep me committed to it. I felt genuinely like this is something that could happen; it was typical in the best kind of way.

I love the family relationships depicted in this book (particularly Daisy and her mother) as it felt really honest and heartfelt.

I’m really looking forward to read more from this author.

This book was so cute. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. I adored Daisy, some of her moments were truly ICONIC. I related heavily to her people pleasing, and her desire to have others approval. I k ow we always need a last act pull apart but to be honest I didn’t love it in this. Or at least I didn’t love how long it took to resolve. Overall Charlie and Daisy forever and everyone should read this if they want to feel warm and cozy.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
Seat Mates by Anna Harbor is about a woman who travels to another state for her mom’s wedding. On her way there, she meets a guy who she terms as rude but then finds out he’s her ‘seat mate’ on the plane and strangely enough, they’re in the same hotel, same floor, and their rooms are literally following each other.
If you don’t call that fate, then I don’t know what you might call it.
Seat Mates is a cute and very short book. It’s literally 200 pages and gets a lot of things done quickly. Partially because the book’s timeline isn’t long (just about a week) there’s only so much you can stretch it for.

I rated this book 3 🌟. I enjoyed it, it’s light, the twist in the book was really shocking, and the romance was there woven in the pages. Honestly, if you go into this book knowing that the airplane part isn’t going to be for long, or most part of it, then you’re alright.

Grammatically, this was a much easier book to read and can’t wait to read more from this author.

Thank you for the Arc!
I fell in love with Daisy and Charlie. I just loved the interaction between them. One of my fave tropes is fake dating and this book has it. Also, I loved how attentive Charlie was. I was just a little bit disappointed with the third act breakup, but I guess it was necessary in order to have that great ending. I definitively recommend this book.

I adored this book!

Of course I started reading this while on a plane, and I fell instantly fell in love with Daisy and Charles, who were the perfect couple of opposites. This meet-cute is a feel good, smiley romance that had me grinning and giggling the whole time. Honestly, this book just put me in a good mood!

I recommend this book to EVERYONE and ANYONE looking for a cute romance (especially if you're traveling), who loves a good Hallmark style romance, or who might want to start reading romance but doesn't know where to start.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this gem early!

Okay okay PAUSE!
You’re telling me these two have such a “not so meet cute” and end up becoming one of my favorite couples? When this book is out I’m going to need the physical copy to annotate! I haven’t had a feeling like this since reading the Spanish love deception. I don’t know if it was the traveling or the banter but absolute 5/5!!
Also the characters… LOVE! I relate to the FMC so much. I love her attitude!

”you’re in my corner?”
he grins and nods. “i’m definitely in your corner.”

to start, daisy thomas would absolutely choose the bear in the debate of man vs bear (she is an environmental advocate that wants to save a conservation that has been set aside for black bears for decades, but is now being sold to a developer, to be made into a ski resort.) she begrudgingly attends her mother’s uncomfortable wedding and just so happens to stumble across charlie in an airport enemies to lovers meet-cute. charlie then ends up sitting beside her on the plane much to her chagrin, and ends up following her along throughout the entire weekend trip as the two stay at the same hotel upon landing. their banter is silly and cute with an underlying sense that something more could happen between them. which, in a flurry of wedding events, hotel room service, awkward run-ins with an ex boyfriend, a fake date to a wedding rehearsal, something does.
to put it simply, seat mates is a short and sweet book with just over 200 pages - with characters and banter that made it enjoyable to read. i devoured it and managed to read it all in one day! it has that sweet way of being told where it feels as though your best friend is telling you about her wedding vacation meet-cute because you weren’t there. i imagine it’s how daisy told cara about everything that happened.

i only wish that the seat mates cover and plot of them sitting beside each other had lasted just a bit longer or made a reoccurring point throughout the book as it is the title and it felt as though it didn’t quite fit as much as it could have. i also felt like the ending with daisy’s mom was very heavy and emotionally impacting compared to the lighthearted romcom feel of the rest of the book and i didn’t care for it as much as it felt very sudden regardless of the situation that led to the wedding, but that’s just me being picky! it’s definitely a book that everyone should read for themselves.

(thank you so much to the publisher and netgalley for sending me an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

The main female character in this book is soooo cute and fun. I wanted to love this book so bad! The grammar in this book was so bad I could only think about how bad it was and could not focus on the actual plot. I will for sure try this one out again once it’s published and maybe the edits are complete because I think it has a strong plot that I could love. I gave it 3 stars because NetGalley was so kind for me to receive an arc and also because the pages I did read were leading to something amazing. Can’t wait to read this one when it’s published

I really, really enjoyed this book! Daisy and Charlie's banter together was very entertaining, and they had really good chemistry. The meet-cute was 10/10 and me, when? This book also has fake dating which is one of my favorite tropes, and I loved reading Daisy and Charlie's story.

This was such a sweet book.
A light hearted read with some serious content.
I actually laughed out loud at some parts.
Could see this becoming a rom-come movie

Perfect summer read!

This was a very charming and quick read! The concept sounds fairly simple, MMC and FMC meet in a very meet-cute, enemies to lovers type of way, then coincidentally end up in the same location and start fake dating. But what Anna Harbom also managed to create was a very vulnerable and realistic atmosphere where these two characters slowly started to get to know each other and the tension built to some very satisfying romance. Both MCs had their faults, made mistakes, and acknowledged and apologized for their wrongs. It was nice to see people take a mature approach.

I didn't care for the mother sub-plot but I do think there will be people who will appreciate reading about these type of family dynamics.

My only critique is that the book's length was awkward. It would have been a great novella, if they shortened the mom stuff or an even longer novel, filling in the gaps where the MCs didn't see each other. Overall, I really appreciate the opportunity to read this ARC and definitely look forward to reading more from this author.

I was sooo excited to receive this ARC!!!!

This book had me from the start and that normally doesn’t happen for me… Daisy and Charlie were such great characters to get to know and follow.

There were many laugh out loud moments with the way all the characters interacted and then there were the sad moments that made your heart ache.

Anna Harbom did an amazing job and I will definitely be recommending this book to friends.
