Thank you NetGalley, Rock Point Publishing and Kim Kindelsperger for the delightful book Creepy Kitchen. This is a spooky but fun and delicious sounding cookbook that we will be using this fall. It is a complete cookbook with drinks, appetizers, main dishes and desserts, not just party food. I usually prefer pictures in my cookbooks, but this one is unique and has creepy artwork instead - I loved it!

Creepy Kitchen is a spooky cookbook that you can use year-round for a little bit of those spooky szn vibes no matter what day it is. I found about 4-5 recipes I want to try, including an apple cider chicken recipe and some kind of corn recipe that looks delicious! At least, the illustrations look delicious. There are no real photos in this book but the illustrations are really cute and well done, so I’m not mad about it!

I received an advanced copy from netgalley in exchange for a review and opinions are my own.

Creepy Kitchen is perfect for the Halloween lovers in your life! I appreciated the variety of cute ideas which I gravitate towards but there were also spooky options for those who prefer that vibe. The book itself was also aesthetically pleasing and I adored the illustrations. This book perfectly fits a niche and I think many will enjoy this fall!

Halloween is my favorite holiday, and this cookbook can help me celebrate Halloween year-round. There aren't just recipes for snacks -- there are real foods and veggies in these recipes, making it appropriate for a full day of eating. I do love snacks more, though, and my favorites were the pumpkin spice lattes, spicy hot chocolate, and pretzel bones.
I'm not much of a cook but the instructions here are clear and easy to understand. At the end, there are also tips, such as how to pop popcorn and how to separate an orange. The illustrations are perfect!
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

What a delightfully spooky cookbook!
The title and artwork immediately caught my eye. I love spending time in the kitchen, and I particularly love cooking themed meals.
My daughter is obsessed with Halloween and all things spooky, so she is going to adore this cookbook!
I was very impressed with the attention to detail in each recipe, added notes, and specialized materials lists. There are recipes that are very simple, and some that are a bit more adventurous, something for everyone!
The illustrations are beautiful and very charming. Overall, the theme of the book is kept up in the design of the end pages and section title pages as well that make the aesthetic of the book exactly what is promised by the title.
The additional information at the end of the book involving many detailed cooking tips is extremely helpful for everyone. For instance, I now know how to “supreme” an orange!
The author truly thought of everything to include in the cookbook!

This book is a must have in your cookbook collections! It will help make all your spooky treats come to life and elevate your parties. I only wish there was actual pictures of the treats being made. I love the illustrations they have included, because they are truly beautiful but I would have like to seen some pictures of the actual treats!

Cookbooks have recently become a fun thing to browse at. Now that I’m inching out of baby phase and have a little more time for that part of life. And my daughter absolutely loves to help cook. So with summer around the corner, I wrote down some fun ideas our family can try out. It was very fun to recieve some advance copies of these cookbooks. 🥗🍔🌮🍤🍪🧁🧀🥚🍇🥯

Gathering Boards by Sarah Tuthill was making my mouth water. I love a good charcuterie board, and this book was chalked full of ideas, how to lay the board out, different seasonal boards. I want this book for a coffee table book because the pictures were so vibrant and beautiful. It made me want to text all my girl pals and plan a patio night. 100 Afternoon Sweets by Sarah Kieffer made me walk to the pantry and grab my secret stash of chocolate. I have so many post its for this one to make with my daughter this summer. I always run into the problem of never knowing what to bring to a girls night, or family cookout. But this book had SO many yummy treats that anyone can make. The Crab Pot Cookbook by The Griffin Family….this was hands down a beautiful and such a fun family effort cookbook! I LOVE seafood, and tell my husband that we must retire or visit frequent the east coast so I can have my lobster. I live in the Midwest, but let me tell you, I am bringing this cookbook out for some fun summer nights! I love the explanations, the creative new things I’ve never heard of, and it was so beautifully put together. It made me want to meet this family for how fun it was. A Couples Cookbook by Sonja Overhiser and Alex Overhiser was the most precious couples cookbook I’ve read. I received many for my wedding gifts, but this tops them all. I loved the introduction full of their story, and the pictures of them throughout the book. The meals looked so fun, and easy, and it was so beautifully put together. My husband and I always say it will be fun to make more than our five staple kids dinners eventually. @acouplecooks

I basically wait all year for Fall and spooky season, so this cookbook is perfect! The recipes are organized based on course which will make planning a Fall/Halloween party super convenient. There's also a fun "Goth Valentine's Day" section and a helpful how-to section. Every recipe has fun artwork that really sets the tone and make the book so much fun to look through.

This is such a cute themed cook book. I usually stay away from these, but this year we are throwing a themed house party and this is such a fun way to find yummy and on theme recipes. I also usually hate when cookbooks have illustrated versions of the recipes instead of photos, but for this book I actually think it works really well. It almost takes the pressure of matching this really staged photo away, and focuses you on the fun of the dish! Really really cute!

This cookbook is the CUTEST!! I absolutely love the illustrations and there are so many recipes I’d love to try. So perfect for the upcoming autumn and Halloween season!

This book is super cute! I love all the pictures and all the blurbs that appear above each recipe. I also loved how - even though it’s spooky-themed - it included Christmas (Creepmas) and Valentine’s Day.

The recipes are all everyday ingredients with easy-to-follow instructions. There are how-to’s at the back of the book for more technical needs. I also love that it has a well done index. I appreciated that the recipes are perfect for kids and adults - except maybe those tasty sounding adult beverages ;-)

Throughout the cookbook, I saw nods to the Addams Family, Beetlejuice, Frankenstein, Dracula, and many more.

Overall, this cookbook is done so well. The pictures, while cartoony, are also well done so that you can get a good idea of what the finished dish should look like. The steps are easy to follow and well-detailed. This is a keeper!

Creepy Kitchen focuses on spooky themed dishes. The recipes are created for any occasion or just for fun. The recipes were more kid-friendly to more gruesome.

The Sections are
Shuddersome Starters & Drinks for Darklings
Bewitching Bites & Shadowy Sides
Monstrous Main Dishes
Sinister Sweets & Diabolical Desserts
Creepmas
Goth Valentine’s Day
Ghostly Gourmet How-Tos

Each recipe has a little blurb about the recipe, any special equipment, ingredients, directions, and heed. The directions are easy to follow and straightforward. The recipes are fairly simple.

The playfulness of the cookbook is very fun. The illustrations are very fun with beautiful intricate drawings of the recipes. I love the character and charm that is encompassed in the cookbook.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Let's start this review by saying two things:
1. I have never wanted a physical copy of a book so much! It's so beautiful, the illustrations, the aesthetics, the recipes that look incredible even though they are just drawings. I would love to have it in my home and would definitely show it to all my guests with a proud smile. What a beautiful edition.
2. My God, how hungry this has made me. I want to try all of these recipes and I honestly can't wait for Halloween.
The only downside is that, like I said, you don't really get pictures of what the finished recipe would look like, so it can be confusing when you're cooking. Other than that, this is a pretty perfect witchy book.
5 pretty stars!

I mistakenly assumed this cookbook was for children due to the cover art and first few pages. However as soon as I flipped to a creative cocktail recipe I realized that was not the case! This book is inventive and certainly offers tons of recipes for the season, although many of them I was already familiar with and their feature in the book was just made different by the spooky recipe name. The illustrations are beautiful and unexpected in a cookbook. This may make some readers upset that the photos are not “real” and there is no image by which to gauge your finished product. But for me, I liked the seasonal Halloween theme enough that flipping through each recipe and its illustration was enjoyable.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book!

This recipe book has a great layout. It's aesthetically pleasing and makes it accessible for anyone who's a newbie in the kitchen. The art is absolutely beautiful and adds so much to the fun and whimsical Halloween theme of the book! I love the way the whole book felt like something from The Addams Family kitchen.

The recipes had very creative names and I love the intros and descriptions at the top of each one. The recipes are also easy to follow, I just wish they had estimates for the time each one takes. While the recipes fit the theme and there's a good mix of foods, there's not much myself or my family would actually make, maybe 5 recipes in the whole book. There is a good "how to" guide at the end for various techniques or ingredients that I thought was a nice touch.

I'm not sure this hit the goal of having Halloween year long but maybe that's just me, I just don't see myself making any of these outside of Halloween time. I do love the overall design and idea but I think the food choices could be better.

4.5 stars.
So many great, creepy, yummy, spooky recipes for not only Halloween, not only for October, winter, but all times.

I did not expect to see such a nice variety - glad to find recipes for salads, starters, sides and mains.

I also found the genuinely helpful heeds or interesting ‘did you know’s very unique and engaging. Some of the ‘did you know’s are related to literature, which was a nice touch.

The style of the illustrations are not a style I would usually like, but they look awesome in this book. They are wonderful and spooky.
