Elle Kennedy is one of my most reliable auto buys, and this newest series set in Briar University is absolutely a no-brainer.

I love being in this particular universe. There’s something about the college co-ed set up that works super well with kennedy’s plot lines. I don’t think I’m at a point where I’ll say that this is as good as the OG off-campus group series, but I had so much fun with Shane and Dixon in this book. It’s antagonistic acquaintances to lovers, fake dating goodness.

Audiobook was for sure the right choice too. Corvin King and Erin Mallon were perfection, I enjoyed every second!

The Dixon Rule is book two in the Campus Diaries Series. Diana Dixon is training for a ballroom dance competition this summer and working several jobs to keep up with all of her expenses. When her neighbor Shane Lindley moves in next to her, she couldn’t be more agitated. Shane is the playboy hockey player that she wants NOTHING to do with. But when he gets in a bind with his ex, and she is put in a tough place with hers, they decide to team up and fake-date.

While I loved The Graham Effect, I struggled with this one. It felt like there was so much going on within the book, the ex-drama, dancing, hockey, parent death, stalker ex-boyfriend. If you love spicy books, then make sure you definitely read because you can probably overlook all of the other things. I do enjoy spice, this one just had a few spicy tropes that I was not into.

The narration was great! I was very please with both the narrators, Erin Mallon and Corvin King. A quick listen!

This was so good! If you want to dip your toes in sports romance, or you’ve a seasoned veteran, you’ll enjoy this! The banter between Dixon and Shane immediately draws you in. Their neighbors had me seriously laughing out loud. Officially begging for a Nolan novella 😏. Fake dating, forced proximity, connected friend group, stocking ex, you bet a bit of everything. I rated 4, rather than 5 because I did predict everything that happened. But, I still couldn’t stop listening. The narrators were excellent. The spicy scenes were… fabulous, and I was laughing and crying throughout many moments. I can’t wait for book 3!

Delightful, I loved every part of this audio book even when I cried for Shane, god the trigger warnings in this book do not prepare you for such an emotional shock of hearing Shane and Diana in the voices of Corving King and Erin Mallon, a very good job and so well done, I fell for them from the first paragraph and that is the beauty of the audio book, when the voices of the narrators makes the book comes to life
.
Diana Dixon is a super active girl, captain of the cheerleading team, with two jobs and putting together the choreography to participate in an amateur dance competition. She is the popular, friendly girl that everyone wants to be friends with and who has no problems with anyone, except with Shane Lindley
.
The annoying hockey player who spends his time sleeping with her teammates of the cheerleading squad. But when he moves to the apartment across from her things go up a notch between them
.
And they change unexpectedly when Shane's ex-girlfriend decides to go to see him with her new boyfriend in tow. Cornered by the situation, he decides to ask Diana for help, asking her to pretend to be his girlfriend to save face and she have some favor to ask in exchange for
.
Frenemies never had better representation with these two characters, and the chemistry is cheff kiss. I mean, it's Elle Kennedy book of course the chemistry is heavenly and you won't be able to get the characters out of your head.
.
I love coming back to Briar University and I can't wait to go back to see what happens with Beck and Will, but without a doubt this is my favorite of the series. Maybe it's the fake relationship, the enemies to lovers, the sport romances, oppositions attract, I don’t know… I just know that I loved every part and I was left wishing for more chapters, I also understood that you shouldn't miss the experience of listening to a book by Elle Kennedy, I liked the Graham effect but now I need to listen to the audio version
.
Thanks to Elle Kennedy and Dreamscape Select for give me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion

Enemies to lovers
Forced proximity
Dance partners
Sports Romance: hockey and cheerleading

I just love that the BriarU universe continues to grow. We met Shane and Diana in Book 1: The Graham Effect.
While we get to the bottom of Shane and Diana’s love/hate chemistry, we also get to see the whole OG BriarU gang together, and their kids, at hockey camps and (SPOILER - go read book 1) a BriarU wedding.

Diana is a control freak, and when she gives in to Shane, 🥵. Just 🥵. Shane has no problem being in control. I mean the kitchen scene… IYKYK.

The last ~20% of this book takes a turn. Not a third act breakup but this is a trigger warning: death of a parent on page (cancer), and physical abuse from an ex boyfriend. With D*ddy all over the news and seeing that video, it was hard to listen to the audio of Diana and her ex Percy.

Overall, 3.5 ⭐️ and 3 🌶️. The ending was a bit dark and rushed.

There was A LOT of side stories going on, continuing to set up this series. Next up sounds like a Why Choose between Beckett and Will.

I enjoyed this book by Elle Kennedy. It was delightful and made me laugh. The emotions, chemistry, banter, and friendship were all excellent. Overall, it was a great audiobook. The narrators did an amazing job.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and thought it was great follow-up to book 1. We got to revisit old characters and get some seemingly interesting hints at possible future books. I think Shane and Diana were a great pairing. They seemed to work together and their relationship was fun. While I did see it coming, I did not appreciate the twist with Shane's family, and it did have me tearing up, however, I'm happy that Kennedy chose to forgo using trauma as the reason for breaking up. I think the narrators did a great job as well. I am just hoping that we get a Will and Beckett story since there is so much heavy implications that those two will get paired up and I'm here for it. Great book, 5 stars.

I loved the story of Shane and Diana - enemies to frenemies - frenemies to lovers - fake dating - and more! The witty banter and spice keep the book moving and then you won’t really want it to end!

Corvin King and Erin Mallon do a great job of bringing these characters to life in the audiobook. I’m a big fan of Mallon who really brings home the inner struggles of her characters.

Thank you to @NetGalley and @Dreamscape_Media for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion. And in my opinion, this book was very entertaining and I look forward to the next book in the series.

This was such a good follow-up to the Graham Effect 😫🫶🏼 I loved every single second of this book!! The romance was captivating, you can’t help but root for them from the beginning 🤧, and the plot points in the book made me feel so much shit (anger, frustration, sadness) that I wanted to keep listening any chance I got to see where the story would go next. Elle Kennedy absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one 🤩

📣Fake Dating

The Dixon Rule is the second book of the Campus Diaries series of interconnected standalones. It’s official, I’ve found my new favorite Elle Kennedy book! Seriously this book has everything! The banter is some of the best I’ve ever read. Diana and Shane had me laughing throughout the whole book! There are some pretty emotional times though so be sure to have the tissues ready! Diana can claim she hates Shane but there is no way she can deny the chemistry between the two of them. They had my kindle smoking with some of their interactions! I loved everything about this story from the witty banter, fake dating with some frenemies to lovers, the spice, the friends group and found family, the dancing competition, and all of the text messages. Literal perfection in my book!

I was able to listen to the audio while following along with the ebook and Corbin King and Erin Mallon really brought these characters and story to life for me. They did an excellent job of portraying Diana and Shane!

If you were a fan of The Graham Effect, book 1 of the Campus Diaries, you won’t be disappointed with this book. This rom-com series is very relevant to those interested in college-aged, sports inclined, sex-positive, fake dating storylines. I may not be the target audience for this particular series, but I still enjoyed the plot and had my heart strings tugged. There were a few rabbit trails that were chased and some major issues that were glossed over more briefly than I would have liked.

Thank you Elle Kennedy, Dreamscape Select, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this audiobook! The sound quality was excellent. Corvin King and Erin Mallon did an excellent job narrating and bringing the characters to life. I love when we have dual points of view and the male character is read by a male narrator.

DNF at 34%:

Unfortunately this fell flat for me. I couldn’t get into the drama of why the FMC didn’t like the MMC. Also calling someone a f***boy every other page is not going to make me feel like I’ll *swoon* over him. It could be for others, just not for me.

I also didn’t like the chapter I finished on (ch 16). Please check trigger warnings and take care of yourself!!

This story took me through the full range of emotions! I laughed, I cried, I was angry, I sobbed, I grinned, I cringed, I giggled, and I loved. This could be broken down into so many different tropes, enemies to lovers, fake dating, forced proximity, and a few more, but it was so much more than that. This story could be classified as a hockey romance, or a college romance, but it is so much more than that. It is so much more, because our characters are so much more. They love, they hate, they fight, they hurt, they know a lot, and have so much to learn. This story, their story, brought me along as they did all of this, and I am so thankful they let me along for their ride to their HEA <3

I just finished The Dixon Rule by Elle Kennedy. Elle always delivers a great hockey romance and this book is no exception. Strong characters and a strong story combined with excellent narrators and you have a wonderful 5 star audio romance book. Well done. Cannot wait to read more in this series.

At first, I was a bit wary to meet my precious boys Graham, Dean, Logan and Tucker, who are now grown-ass men and have their own grown-up children, however, there was no need for it - I had a blast while listening to this book. Great narration (Erin Mallon, you're a gem), top notch banter and chemistry between MCs, hilarious HOA meetings, and, my God, the spice is spicing!
To be honest, there was some unnecessary drama at the end (hence four star rating - for your own good, please check TWs), but in general, I just loved coming back to Off-Campus world. And now I'm invested in Will and Beckett's story, fingers crossed that the next installment is their book.

Thanks to Dreamscape Select and NetGalley for the audiobook ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn’t put this down. I enjoyed the banter between the two MCs. That being said… I felt like sometimes the characters actions didn’t line up with their personalities (like how he’s supposedly not the hookup type but then keeps trying to convince the FMC to be friends with benefits) and it was way too long. Don’t get me wrong, I love long books. But at the point that it seems like the perfect spot to end the book, you turn the page to another chapter. It should have ended after he told her how he felt about her. It felt like the perfect happy ending. But then extra stuff was added, like meeting the parents, then his dad getting hospitalized and dying, and then the lol FMC getting hospitalized next. It just honestly felt like that stuff was added to make the book longer even though it already had the perfect ending earlier on. I still enjoyed the story for the most part, and would definitely read more from this author. The narrators did amazing as well.

Wow, I can't get over the voices in it, Corvin and Erin played the parts SO WELL. I really didn't want it to end. I loved how natural it all felt, nothing felt awkward or forced.

First things first: READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!

Every time I pick up a sport’s romance book, I have little to no expectations. In my mind, the sub genre is fun, flirty, and slightly stinky thanks to all of the pads and equipment.

But this one? Oof. I’ve never read an Elle Kennedy book and maybe it wasn’t ideal to start with the second book in a series, but I did. I liked it! I even teared up a little? A hockey player made me cry!!!

The spice was spicing and I very much appreciated each and every scene (3.75/5🌶️🌶️🌶️). Well, I was quite shocked when Will joined the chat, but I digress. To each their own. Do you!!!

The thing I’m struggling to let go of in this book was the, again, TRIGGER WARNING, the DV. I know this is a work of fiction, but it always shocks me when scenes and storylines like this exist in books like these. But on the other hand, it’s an important topic and this story doesn’t glorify it. It just… happens. I don’t know how to feel!

Anyway, despite his buzz cut, Shane can get it. 🤓

Ummm WOW! This book was seriously a rollercoaster of surprises, fun banter, lots of spice, and total heartbreak!

I absolutely LOVED Shane and Diana! A hockey player and cheerleader, mixed with frenemies with benefits to lovers and fake dating!? YES please!

This story had it all! I was laughing hard from the fun banter between the two characters and side characters, then I was panting from the hotness that unfolded, then shattered to pieces towards the end. The story does turn around and patch up your heart a little bit, but it was still a very unexpected side of the book I did not see coming and honestly I loved this book even more for it!

I listened to the audio in tandem with reading the e-book and I absolutely loved how the narrators portrayed the characters. They gave so much more depth to the story and I loved reading it like this!
