Jacqueline Snowe is now a quintessential holiday romance writer for me. Its like spicy Hallmark catnip to me. Please give this a read to get you in the sexy Christmas mood. Overwhelmingly enjoyed!
Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for providing an eARC for a honest review.
Unfortunately, I had to put this book down around the 20% mark. The writing was just not for me; it doesn't help that I'm not a big fan of dual POVs in general, and when I don't like it, I really don't like it. You might find this cute if you're in the market for a cute holiday romance!
Brother's best friend, single-dad, Christmas! This book was all of my 2024 holiday romance books all wrapped up with a big bow! I think that readers are going to absolutely fall in love wit Hayden and Charlotte this holiday season. I loved Charlottes inner monologues and I found her to be so funny and relateable.
Rounded up to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
This cute, cozy holiday romance book was sweet and an easy read. Is this something that I’ll think about in a week? No. But it is overly christmasy in the best way possible. It is giving Hallmark. We have some open door spice and a handful of scenes throughout the book.
This one starts with some drama when our FMC Charlotte drives into a snowbank. Hayden, her older brother’s bestie, who Charlotte confessed her undying love to years ago is the one to rescue her. Cue the tension filled romance. We do have some miscommunication and third act break up, but it’s rather minor and not a HUGE plot point.

This very spicy, very Christmasy book had a little bit of everything! It made me laugh right from the first chapter, but it also had serious and emotional moments. The Christmas-themed resort was something right out of a Hallmark movie, and made me feel like I was in a winter wonderland. Hayden and Charlotte had sizzling chemistry, and I loved how he would do anything to protect her. There was some drama about 2/3 of the way through the book, which really showcased Hayden's struggle of trying to balance being a single parent with his feelings for Charlotte. I do wish he had groveled a little more during the resolution to the conflict, but all-in-all I thought it was highly enjoyable and perfect for getting in the Christmas spirit! Read if you love Christmas, baseball/softball (they're both coaches!), and single dad romances.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central) publishing for the opportunity to read the e-arc edition of this book, in exchange for my honest opinions.
3.75/5 ⭐️s
🌶️🌶️ - medium spice
LOVES:
- Comparing midwestern weather to a temperamental toddler. Pretty spot on 👌🏻
- I love a quirky FMC
- Garrett’s subtle poking of the bear is excellent 😉
- I appreciate that the kid talk is pretty realistic. It bothers me when books are out here having 3 year olds talking like adults.
- I love how Hayden’s mom called him straight out on his shit MULTIPLE times. She is the real MVP. 10/10
CRITIQUES:
- I felt like this was one where the third act break-up really bothered me. Poor decision making and poor communication was disappointing.
- The grand gesture was great in theory, but I felt like we needed more build up to it… Hayden got off the hook a little too easily 😒
I enjoyed this book on the whole and the issues I had were dealt with well by all of the other characters. The MMC honestly ended up redeeming himself too, I just wanted him to suffer a little more first 😉 Still a pretty solid read.

Jacqueline Snowe has done it again! I fell head over heels for this adorable holiday novel. I could definitely see this being adapted into a movie. I just absolutely love Christmas romances and this book is going on my favorites list!

Fairly typical brother’s best friend romance. Charlotte has been in love with Hayden for years, had an opportunity to kiss him three years ago, and was rejected. She’s pretty much avoided him all this time, except to help care for his young daughter. Hayden is basically afraid and avoidant and he rejected Charlotte because he didn’t want to betray her brother and so he could figure out his messy life. They’re thrown together at a ski resort during Charlotte’s brother’s pre-wedding vacation, and finally talk through their issues and see about possibly making a go of a relationship. And then things get messy again when Hayden is second-guessing all his decisions. But it all gets resolved exactly how we would all expect it to.
This was a cute little fun holiday read! Loaded with Christmas shenanigans and romance.
Charlotte and Hayden are totally in to each other but she being the little sister and he being the best friend, they have the forbidden part down. They shared one kiss and she was rejected by Hayden and had not heard from him since. The little crush she had was not one sided though. Years later and they end up at a ski resort for her brothers bachelor party and now with the holiday cheer, its the right time.
Charlotte was a lot of fun and funny. The tension that was there was short lived but the read was a quick read so I didn't mind. This was adorable and totally something you should read if you are in the mode for a holiday romance. Tons of laughs and mistletoe.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for ARC access for this book!
Holiday romances are usually quick to read and sweet which this book is, however it left me wanting to much more!! The dialogue wasn't where I hoped it would be and although I usually love an alternating POV, the narrators both sounded so similar that I had a tough time keeping track of who was narrating. An easy holiday read but unfortunately not my favorite.

This was such a fun, sweet and spicy holiday romance that gave all the Christmas feels 🎄This book is loaded with some of the best tropes and had me intrigued right away!
I loved the main characters Hayden and Charlotte. Their history, chemistry and banter made this hard to put down!.
I enjoyed the setting of the Christmas themed ski resort and all of the Christmas activities and games that came along with it. The friends, family and side characters all gave an added touch to the story, especially Hayden being a single dad to his daughter. Once back home from the ski resort I loved how things played out and the way it all came together in the end.
Another cute Christmas romance from Snowe! I quite enjoyed Snowed In last year, and was very excited to pick up Christmas Sweater Weather this year.
A very sweet older brother’s best friend situation, but with a really fun twist… Charlotte actually made a pass at Hayden about three years ago, and he turned her down because she was only 21, and his BFFs baby sister. He’s crazy about her, but can’t ever do anything about it. They’re now on the way to a remote ski lodge for that BFF/brother’s wedding party weekend, where they’ll be in close proximity for several days… and after he saves her from a wee accident on the snowy roads, the pair ends up having an awful lot of time together.
It’s a competition weekend, filled with wrapping gifts, creative cocktails, Christmas music, and a really weird elf, when an overheard conversation between the bride and groom gives them a mission to ensure the couple is happy at all costs - so they have to team up for a good cause… and everyone knows what that always leads to! He’s also a single dad who dotes on his daughter, and Gwen’s the light of his life - and Charlotte is aunt Lotty, stepping up to try to help find new childcare solutions when his parents spring a last minute move on him.
I really enjoyed this very cute Christmasy story and definitely recommend it to any romance reader who likes Christmas romances. I need to go back and read more of her catalogue, because she writes well and I’m sure the rest will keep me just as glued to the pages.
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and this is my honest feedback.
Christmas Sweater Weather by Jaqueline Snowe
Contemporary holiday romance. Brother’s best friend troupe, aka forbidden love. Sports related via coaching.
Charlotte Calhoun has always had a crush on her brother’s best friend Hayden. She avoids him now at all cost, after he rejected a pass from her at 21. Driving into a huge snow bank on the way to her brother’s combined bachelor bachelorette weekend and getting recused by Hayden was not on her bingo card. But she will have to make it work. Her brother and his fiancee are important to her.
Hayden Porter has been attracted to Charlotte all her adult years but as his best friend’s little sister, she’s off limits. With both of them in the wedding party and staying in adjoining rooms at the cozy holiday decorated hotel, he’s not going to be able to distance himself as usual. Especially when Charlotte is on board with taking their relationship to the next level and keeping it behind closed doors. Neither want to distract the bride and groom at their special events. Plus he’s a single father with a full time college coaching job and she’s a high school teacher working towards a coaching career. Discretion is required. Hiding their new relationship though, might be more difficult than either expected.
I read much slower the more I like a book, the banter or characters. I loved the writing in this story and found myself reading a couple of pages and putting it down. Not because I was busy or bored, but unconsciously trying to make it last longer. It hit all the right spots for me. My favorite troupe, a secret crush on both sides, fun banter and absurd situations. And, of course, some steamy interludes. An all around joyful and romantic story. A few tears of happiness for me as the sentimental snuck in too.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

I love Christmas books! & I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use my only Christmas sweater for the photo. 😝
This was super cute. If you don’t know by now, I’m a sucker for brother’s best friend trope and the single dad trope. The perfect combo!
While at a ski resort for Charlotte’s brother’s bachelor party, they couldn’t avoid each other anymore once paired up for all the Christmas-themed competitions. It’s undeniable how they feel for the other person and their secret fling begins! 🔥
I enjoyed both Hayden and Charlotte. She was always there for him even after he turned her down years ago. She still supported him and would help step up with his daughter as needed. I’m glad the third act breakup didn’t last long and Hayden knew he had to grovel to her back after the mistake he made!
Overall, I thought this was fast-paced, fun, and full of holiday spirit!
Very cute! It's a fun Christmas read where we know how the plot is moving. I will say I wish there was more substance to the plot and the characters because they seemed somewhat underdeveloped, but it's overall enjoyable enough.
🎄 Book Review 🎄
Christmas Sweater Weather by Jaqueline Snowe
🎄
This is the perfect holiday romance! It’s got angst and pining because Charlotte and Hayden have both been secretly in love with each other for years, but they’re trying to just be friends and ignore their attraction to each other. They’re forced to be around each other for Charlotte’s brother’s bachelor party, which is full of Christmas cheer and absurd shenanigans. Hayden is everyone’s dream guy. He’s nice, thoughtful, wears sexy glasses, is a single dad, and can be bossy when he needs to be. If you’re looking for a feel-good Hallmark Christmas romance with banter and a bit of spice, this is the book for you.

This holiday romcom had all my favorites:
- secretly in love with his best friends sister
- second chance-ish
- spice
- literal laugh out loud moments
Charlotte has been keeping her distance from Hayden ever since his hurtful rejection a few years back. But tensions are high and the sparks are flying when they are forced to spend a joint bachelor/bachelorette weekend together. Both characters are incredibly relatable and the premise was so fun.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Pub for my complimentary eARC of Christmas Sweater Weather. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a fun Christmas read. I had a hard time connecting with the characters, but since I was holding out for a HEA I kept reading !
Lots of holiday merriment and fun to get you through the holiday season.

This was such a cute book! I love the Christmas theme and the fact that they’re at a chalet for a good chunk of the book. What nice Christmas vibes. I love that the two main characters got a second chance at love. The book has a lot of humor and it was great. The romance was good. It also made me cry at certain points, happy cry. I also like that there’s a bit of sports in it too. Great Christmas read :)
3.5/5 stars rounded up! This was cute! Very heavy on the Christmas and the flirt. I really love past loves trope and that he was her brothers best friend was even more adorable. Very predictable read but very holiday friendly and I’d say a 3/5 on the steam 🌶️ scale. It was spicier than I thought it would be!
