This is one of those books I picked up purely for the cover. *Takes a moment to admire the cover* It’s a very nice cover. Too bad it’s the only remarkable thing about Ruined. Maybe it’s because I’ve read too many books in this genre or maybe there are too many books written with this same formula that they all begin to bleed together.
I’m not saying I hated the book. It was an okay enough read. But that right there was a problem for me, it was just okay. While I found Chloe sweet, and yes she has a damaged side, I couldn’t engage with her. I found myself more frustrated than anything else with her. It was just too much back and forth for my taste. Equally, Ethan I found charming, but nothing spectacular to write home about. Of course, he has to have his secrets that are going to have him screwing up. Honestly, I didn’t get too into the book until the end which had to have its token cliffhanger. Sighs. Really?
I’m sure fans of Tracy Wolff will enjoy the book/series, however, I’m kind of on the fence if I will continue with the series. Ruined just didn’t zing for me and, as much as I am a diehard series reader that once they start one I need to finish it, I might just pass on it. Good book but it just was enough for me.

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not compensated for the book other than the entertainment it provided. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
