I don't know what Devney puts in her books but I honestly finish every single one in one sitting.
I was so happy to come back to Haven Ranch to read more about Jax and Sasha.
This is a great enemies to Lovers, workplace and forced proximity. There is also accidental pregnancy, which is always my favorite but this did not bother me at all.
If you are a Devney fan you will be so happy with this one 🩷
Thank you Valentine PR, Netgalley, and Devney for an advanced copy.

YAY for being back at Haven River Ranch 🤠🐴✨ Devney just knows how to write good tropes + pretty stories - hence why she’s quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I was so geeked to get this ARC copy and it did not disappoint! Jax and Sasha have a fun little meet cute, until she finds out he’s her new boss at the ranch in Montana. Sasha then does everything she can to avoid and dislike the man, until her walls start breaking down. I loved how patient Jax was with her healing and difficult past. The pregnancy trope was 🤌🏼 and these two love birds were so easy to cheer on. I loved the development of this story and the mess of Haven River Ranch dynamics. P.S- I’m not ready to leave the ranch yet so really crossing my fingers for a third book @devneyperry !!
Expect:
-small town
-cowboy romance
-enemies to lovers
-accidental pregnancy
-forced proximity
-complicated family dynamics
-western setting
Thank you so much Devney Perry + Valentine PR for the ARC copy in exchange for my honest review!

I loved the first book in the Haven River Ranch series Crossroads, where you follow the story of Indya & West.
I have been waiting for Jax’s (and Sasha’s) story since I read Crossroads at the beginning of this year.
What to expect:
- small town romance
- accidental pregnancy
- work place romance
- found family
- cowboy
- forced proximity
Normally I’m not a really big fan of the accidental pregnancy trope but the way Devney Perry portrayed it and showed us how Jax & Sasha fell in love during the pregnancy made me like the trope in Sunlight.
There was a subplot mentioned from the beginning which kept me guessing the whole time, towards the end we got clarity on that part and to be honest it made me tear up.
Also, Jax Haven is a walking GREEN flag!!!
As always Devney Perry delivers a beautiful story about love, friendship & family.

Thank you to Valentine PR, Netgalley & Devney Perry for this ARC.
“Tell me a lie.”
“Tell me a secret.”
I was so excited to read Jax and Sasha’s story. I don’t know what it is about Devney’s writing but her books are always a comfort read for me. This didn’t disappoint.
A beautiful story about two people who find healing in their journey together.
Jax is a carefree cowboy who’s only ever been a one stand night stand type of guy (hello, mommy issues). But he has much more depth than his persona gives off. Then, he meets Sasha. A woman he can’t win over that easily.
Sasha is an independent “ice queen” who appears to have it all together. But her traumatic past and skeletons in her closet that she hides from the rest of the world. She doesn’t like relying on anyone. Until Jax.
I don’t know what is about men who handle horses but they pay attention. The way Jax reads all of Sasha’s cues stole my heart. Never wanting to spook her, he handles her with patience and care… Never giving up.
One night happens between them that turns into more than that…
“I won’t let you fall.”
“My Josephine.”
“Everything keeps flipping.”
“Just hold tight. It’ll stop.”

I absolutely loved this book! The pregnancy trope is one of my favorites, especially when it’s written by Devney Perry, and she totally nailed it here. Sasha’s character was so complex, and I loved getting into her struggles. Jax, on the other hand, was just perfect—such an amazing book boyfriend. The chemistry between them was off the charts, and their relationship was just beautiful (I can’t say too much without giving spoilers, though).
Even the side characters’ stories were so interesting, and I found myself wanting to know more about them. Maybe in a future book? 🤭
By the end, I was crying happy tears—it was just so heartwarming.

Huge thanks to Valentine PR and Devney Perry for giving me the chance to read the ARC. This in no way influenced my opinion.
I read Crossroads and immediately fell in love with Haven River Ranch and the Haven boys. Jax and Sasha have the best meet-cute over a grocery-cart related altercation and if he wasn’t Jax Haven, they would’ve probably been dating since that first day. But Jax is a Haven, so Sasha’s “boss” at her new job and Sasha refuses to cross that line. Surprise pregnancy tropes are hit and miss for me, but I feel like Sunlight did a great job with it. The growing feelings between Jax and Sasha were done in a way that made me feel they would’ve gotten to their end game with or without the baby. I was worried that Jax being the town playboy would make me not love him as much as I loved West in Crossroads, but I was so wrong. Watching Jax lose his playboy ways for Sasha was special. Although this book deals with some heavy topics, it was such a great read and anyone who loved Crossroads won’t be disappointed with Sunlight. You will be rooting for Sasha and Jax to get their HEA. If the couple at the end is the next book in the series, I will be so excited!
I am a sucker for accidental pregnancy and Devney Perry so gosh darn it this was a blast. I absolutely love how Devney seemingly tangles a mystery of sorts into each of her stories and I really adds a fun layer to the romance. This one was the identity of Eddie and who he was to Sasha. Jax was a certified lover boy in the best way possible but he and Sasha had a lot holding them back from their relationship from their past that they had to work through. Haven Ranch has a special place in my heart and I hope we get to go back again.

Wow, Devney has done it again. Taken a trope that for me personally is very hit or miss and made it an absolute hit! Sasha gives such black cat energy which I love in a FMC as I can’t tell if I like them or not but then when you find out why they are that way they make complete sense! Jax is your typical cocky, doesn’t take life serious cowboy until you peel back some layers and see how much he really does feel.🫶🏼 This storyline plays out so well it’s so well paced and I had such a good time with it ☀️
Such a good continuation of Crossroads seeing a lot of the much loved characters again & can’t wait to see more of them in the next book which I pray is Emery & Zak’s story because they are gonna be perrrrrfection. 😏
Sunlight releases Oct 15th!

I just ate this up in 24 hours and cried my way through the last few chapters.
I absolutely adore Jax and this book was so beautiful in every way. There was emotion, suspense and I loved seeing more of Haven River Ranch, as well as West and Indya. There are strong family elements in the book which I loved. I really enjoyed the exploration of deeper relationships with the other characters outside of the FMC and MMC.
If you don’t know by now I absolutely love the accidental pregnancy trope. I must say this one brought back a little bit of birth trauma for me for a hot minute, which I haven’t ever experienced before in an accidental pregnancy story. BUT when you have cowboy Jax in your corner, I was back to crying happy tears in no time.
“You’re carrying my Josephine. That’s not exactly freeloading.” 😂🫶
I’m still processing how I feel about Eddie and that whole situation.. I also don’t love the last scene with Calvin, and feel like something more needed to happen there. However, I haven’t stopped thinking about this book since I finished it!!
This has so many of my favourite tropes and I would highly recommend reading! (Make sure to read Crossroads first, it will make all the difference)
✨Cowboy Romance
✨Accidental Pregnancy
✨He’s Her Boss
✨Small Town
✨Suspense
✨Found Family

I loved Crossroads and loved the sneak peek of Sunlight at the end, so went into this with such high expectations.
I loved Jax so much, and might have to declare him my new fave Devney MMC. I did love the beginning of this and the tension between Jax and Sasha after their initial meeting and the forced proximity aspect, however there were a few areas which just annoyed me a little.
I felt the secrets that Sasha was keeping dragged on a big and weren't as much of a big deal as she made it out to be - I don't know if it was because I found her quite annoying especially with how she treated Jax the majority of the book and ignoring the time sensitive problem. I also felt like we swept all of Lily's behaviour under the rug and also Jax's grandparents reaction to the news was blown over relatively fast with little conversation. I was expecting more of an emotional tug with both of these so they just didn't hit right with me.
I'd still recommend this one, Jax had so many good moments, and I wanna see where the series goes next after this - I thought I potentially knew who the next couple would be but after the ending I'm a little unsure!
Thank you Devney Perry and Valentine PR for this ARC!
“Babe. Baby. Honey. Beautiful. Sweetheart. Jax didn’t use a single endearment. He used them all. He seemed to tailor them to his mood. Babe, for the normal moments when we were just talking. Honey, when he wanted to be sweet. Baby, when we were in his bed.”
Sunlight is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading Crossroads first for a better experience.
The epilogue of Crossroads takes place seven years later, and that's where Sunlight picks up. One random night, Jax Haven steps in to break up a tug-of-war over a shopping cart. Amid this odd encounter, he meets this beautiful woman, someone he sure has never seen in his small town. Completely taken by this pretty stranger, he invites her to dinner, but she politely declines. With his ego bruised, the next day he finally understands what happened: she's Sasha Vaughn, the new manager of Haven River Ranch.
After three months of avoiding each other and denying the attraction they both felt during that first encounter, things finally come to a head. After one too many glasses of champagne at the annual employee party, Sasha lets her guard down around Jax. That’s all the opening he needs to go after what they both clearly want. But what Sasha thought would be a one-time thing quickly becomes way more permanent when she finds out she got pregnant.
Another day, another book I finished in less than 24 hours. I trust Devney with my eyes closed to write the coziest and loveliest books, even when dealing with some heavy topics. Sunlight was no different, I fell head over heels for this story, a truly unputdownable book.
This book beautifully explored the many facets of love—between siblings, partners, parents and children, and friends. It highlighted how love can hurt and even break us, but ultimately, it’s what heals us, brings happiness, and makes us feel invincible.
I also loved the 7-year time jump because Jax is more mature now, very different from the one we met in Crossroads. I couldn't not fall in love with this version of him. One thing you can expect from Devney's MMCs is their unwavering devotion to their significant others, and Jax was no exception. He was completely in love with Sasha and had full faith in their potential together, he was just patiently waiting for her to catch up.
Both Jax and Sasha are layered characters, they're far from perfect—and that's what makes them so relatable. Their little ‘tell me a lie/secret’ game was absolutely perfect, I loved how it was woven throughout the story. And there was one particular moment where it brought me to tears, it was so damn special!
Please, take me to Haven River Ranch!
Okay, Jax and Sasha's story was SO good! I loved it even more than West and Indya's book. I'm really falling in love with the Haven River Ranch, and if I ever win the lottery, I'd move to Montana and build my dream house out in the middle of a field full of flowers.
I am such a sucker for a surprise pregnancy book. Especially if the couple barely know each other, and it takes most of the book for them to get acquainted and fall in love. That was the case here with Jax and Sasha. Their first meeting at the grocery store was perfect and after reading that I knew I was going to totally enjoy this book. I loved their little game of "tell me a lie" and "tell me a secret" as a way to learn things about each other.
I loved the little bit of mystery over who this person was that Sasha kept writing letters to, and I was dying for that moment when she finally told Jax who it was and what that person meant to her. As for Jax, being the playboy he had been, there were a couple of uncomfortable encounters with women from his past that Sasha actually handled pretty well, though it sucked she had to.
There was still the underlying tension in the family dynamic, with Jax and Lily, but I was so happy to see there be some light at the end of that tunnel. And once we find out who the person those letters of Sasha's were going to, I immediately started hoping that maybe they'll get a book in the future? Or maybe Jax's best friend Emery. Fingers crossed!
Once again, an emotional read, which had happy tears rolling down my face for the last bit of the story. So good! I can't wait for more from Haven River Ranch!
Another 5 ⭐️ review for Haven River Ranch. 3 of my favorite things: small town romance, accidental pregnancy & he falls first. Devney brings you right back into the HRR fold, and does not disappoint. I read this in less than 24 hours, I couldn’t get enough! The way Jax adores Sasha made my heart melt into a puddle. The chemistry & steam between the two was absolute perfection. I was so intrigued by Sasha’s past and what she was holding back from Jax I couldn’t put it this down until I found out. And to top it all off watching Jax Haven becoming a Dad, what could be better?
This book was perfection!
I have been eagerly awaiting Jax’s book, since reading Crossroads. There is a seven year time jump from the two book, and I appreciate how the author let us see how perfect West and Indya have settled into their HEA.
Jax and Sasha have a lot of baggage they bring to this story, and I really liked how they used secrets and lies to help them communicate when it was hard to do so.
If you enjoy forced proximity, cowboys, surprise pregnancy, Montana, and acceptance for family that’s not always perfect, you’ll love this books.
There are a lot of great plot points in this book and they keep building on each other to a bigger reveal, the build up was intense, but I really loved where everything was wrapped up. We get to see and experience some side characters getting their HEA and it was very fun and satisfying!
Thank you to Montlake and Valentine PR for the ARC of this book! I absolutely loved Crossroads, the first book in this series, and I could not wait to make a visit back to Haven River Ranch for book 2! Sunlight follows Jax, the youngest brother, and Sasha, the new manager at the ranch. Sasha has moved to Montana from California for the job and she is standoffish and keep it professional. Jax likes Sasha a lot, but her focus is on other more serious things. When things go a little too far one night, they find themselves in a situation where they will be inexplicably tied for life. As they get to know each other, Jax makes it his mission to make Sasha fall in love with Montana and with him, too.
I felt that both characters were very well developed and likeable and that there were enough surprises to keep this book interesting. I was really rooting for their love and the setting in Montana is always a fun one! This one is for you if you like cowboy romance and authors like Elsie Silver, Lyla Sage, Corinne Michaels, Melanie Harlow, Laura Pavlov and similar. Devney Perry never misses for me and this may be my favorite series yet!

not one but TWO surprise pregnancy books from devney in one year! I really loved Sunlight. Jax, Sasha, the found family, emotion, angst, mystery. I was hooked from page one. The last 20% had me in tears. I never wanted it to end. It's a story I'll always think about.
I'm so grateful to have an arc, a literal dream come true. Thank you to devney, valentine pr & netgalley.
Hopefully we'll see some others Sunlight characters get their stories some day
Oh how I loved going back to Haven River Ranch, I wish I could pack my bags and move there.
I was SO excited to get Jax’s story after reading Crossroads, this book was so so beautiful. I love the accidental pregnancy trope, this was written perfectly. Jax and Sasha had great chemistry, even when they tried to deny it. Sasha is closed off at first, having a difficult past. I love that Jax was patient with her, he broke down those walls until she felt comfortable. The meet cute was funny 🛒 these two captured my heart from the beginning 💛
I’m sad this book is over, I read it so quickly because it was impossible to put down. I can’t wait to see what comes next for this series, I know it will be absolutely amazing!
Thank you to Devney and VPR for the ARC💛
Oh wow. Okay, first. I LOVE Sasha. She’s a tad lost. She’s in a place she doesn’t know, surviving the only way she can, and she’s wholly lost. She wants to trust Jax, but his arrogance is a lot. His ego is gigantic. His confidence and smirks and casual dismissal of her are…a front? I mean, we know it’s got to be because he’s clearly watching her every breath, but she doesn’t know that. Heck, he doesn’t know that sometimes in the beginning. He just knows that she rejected everything about him. But that doesn’t mean that Jax can simply ignore Sasha, no matter how much he appears to do exactly that.
These two had a quirky way of communicating. And I’m not complaining about it at all. They play some word games to figure out how to really share who they are. One shoves their foot in a mouth a couple of times, but they recover swiftly and make certain not to repeat the mistake. And there is a ton of healing to be done all around. From lost hopes to hurt hearts, this has it all. And the hope at the end? That’s exactly what we’ve all been waiting for: that hope for a better life for this family by blood and by choice.
Personally, I’d love Emery’s story also. I mean, we’re pretty sure how it goes, but I still hope. And I haven’t looked to see what comes next, so that hope could be realized or delayed, but no matter what’s next, I’m here for it regardless!
4.75 stars!!
Tropes: accidental pregnancy, cowboy romance, forced proximity, workplace romance, small town
Wow. This was genuinely so beautiful & I’m in love with Jax & Sasha FOR REAL. I loved their story and their chemistry so so much.
I’m such a huge fan of accidental pregnancy & this was no exception. The tension between these two was off the charts!!! Jax & Sasha were such raw characters- even with as short as this was(300ish pages) you got so much out of them. It was such a lovely progression for their story- I really have nothing else to say.
OH, AND I never turn down a cowboy who calls his lady “honey.”
Devney Perry has to put something in her books because once I picked this up it was like I couldn't stop reading, I didn't want to stop reading. I read this book in less than 24 hours and I already wish I could read it again for the first time.
I love the characters that Devney writes and the worlds that she creates. Haven River Ranch is one of my favorite fictional places and I really wish it was real so I could go and visit. I feel such a close connection to the characters of this book (and book 1) and it's probably because I see bits and pieces of myself in them.
I felt every emotion while reading this book. I cried, laughed, fist pumped the air, and wanted to scream! I can so see myself being best friends with Sasha. She is so funny and I love her sense of humor. Jax reminds me a lot of my significant other-- very loving and a worrier (even in instances he doesn't need to). I loved the "tell me a lie/ tell me a secret" aspect of the book, it pulled at my heart strings every time it was mentioned. Honestly, I cried so much and it's probably because I could feel the love radiating throughout the whole book no matter the scenario that was happening.
I could (and honestly will) talk about my love for these characters for the rest of my life. I will be telling all of my friends to read this, and even though accidental pregnancy isn't one of my favorite tropes in books -- Devney Perry will be the exception. I LOVE SASHA AND JAX.
This book is perfect for you if you love:
- accidental pregnancy
- forced proximity
- small town
- cowboy romance
