If you love an accidental pregnancy trope you need to pick this up ASAP ROCKY. It is so well done.
Jax is known as the playboy in town who never commits. He’s cocky (he just knows he’s hot and works the smirk) but it hides his pain. I love this man so much. He will do anything for those he loves, even get a little punchy.
Sasha is walking trauma. Her life hasn’t been easy but she’s hard working and just trying to get ahead in life. Her world is constantly flipping until someone makes her world stable. I loved how strong she was even if it’s almost to a fault.
The suspense element in this made it crack to read. Devney doesn’t miss a beat in making me cry in her books. She writes romances that make you believe in true love.

Jax and Sasha definitely complimented each other so well. They both have their own childhood traumas that shape them and make them better for each other. Jax definitely falls first. And throw in an accidental pregnancy. Phew. I loved Jax so much he is one of my top favorite MMC Deveny has written. I loved being back in Haven River Ranch.
Thank you Devney for the opportunity to receive this arc!
Sunlight is the second book of the Haven River Ranch series and can be read as a standalone. I don’t know what Devney Perry puts in her books but they all hit perfectly! This one sucked me in and I couldn’t stop reading. Jax is the younger brother of West from book one. He was so perfect and everything you could want in a MMC. You can tell he is instantly smitten with Sasha from the first time he meets her. I absolutely loved his “tell me a lie” “tell me a secret” game he played with her!. Sasha has been struggling but always puts a smile on her face. She felt a connection with Jax from the beginning…their meet cute was funny! But as soon as she found out that he was her new kind of boss she shut down on him. I loved that Jax never gave up on her no matter how closed off she is. I did shed some tears for both of these character…they pulled on my heartstrings! I am loving this series so much and I can’t wait for more of it!
I am NOT an accidental pregnancy girlie… but with how much I loved Crossroads and this being Jax’s story, I knew I had to get my hands on it. This was SO. GOOD. This book surprised the heck out of me. I loved getting to know Jax and Sasha, and all the banter, spice, humor, and emotion that came with it. I couldn’t stop reading! I love the world of Haven River Ranch and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Devney Perry, MA'AM, what do you put in your books?! Because I finished this in a day. Not in 24 hours. In the time between me waking up and going to bed that same night. I thought West was obsessed with Indya, but he had nothing on Jax and his obsession/love of Sasha. And I love me a man who is obsessed.
There is something about a dual POV where we get the man's POV that I just eat up. And the men that Devney Perry writes are just on another level. I mean, I can't quit thinking about Jax and his love for Sasha and their baby. The way he was so gentle with Sasha. Always there for her and letting her open up to him as she was comfortable. Consistently showing her he was going to be there for her and wasn't going to leave her. My goodness. Just so swoony.
I also loved the mystery of who Eddie was. I had an idea, but it was still an added layer to the story, and to Sasha, that just really brings the complexity of people into the forefront of Devney Perry's writing.
There's definitely tension and some spice in this book, but it takes a backseat to the actual relationship blossoming between Jax and Sasha. To me, it was the perfect mix of spice and romance. This one is five stars all around. Go read it!
Thank you to Devney Perry and Valentine PR for an ARC of this book!
I was so excited to be back at Haven River Ranch for Sunlight! Jax and Sasha’s story had lots to love about it.
Synopsis: Sasha needs money and the manager job at Haven River Ranch pays. When she shows up in town and has a run in with a handsome new man, she thinks this job just got a bit sweeter. Until she arrives at her new job to find that her crush is a co-owner of the ranch. Vowing to ignore her feelings for Jax goes great up until an emotional holiday party leaves her expecting his baby.
Jax was a complete sweetie. He had the best relationships in the book and his meet cute with Sasha was adorable and silly. Sasha and her secrets sent me but I get that it was there for the plot.
Because this book deals with an accidental pregnancy, there is a lot of time jumping to get from the beginning of their relationship to the end of the pregnancy which I understand but just didn’t love. It made the story feel a little hurry up and wait. And don’t come at me but I love a good accidental pregnancy trope!!
I loved the bits of Indya and West 🖤 I loved seeing where they were now and how they had grown since the first book.
I’m so happy I read the book because I was invested in the characters and series from the last book but it wasn’t my favorite Devney book - and that’s ok!! It’s still a solid read. I gave it 3.5 stars!
The tropes:
+ accidental pregnancy
+ small town/cowboy
+ forced proximity
+ workplace romance
Thank you to ValentinePR for the arc!!
No body… I mean NO body does this trope quite like Devney does. Accidental pregnancy 🤝🏻 Devney Perry
This book picks up at the epilogue of Crossroads so a few years has passed. It was a little treat for us getting to see our first couple so happy and in love with all their kids 🥹 it was so necessary because Jax was such a player at the end of the first book that we realistically needed a couple years to believe that Jax was willing to learn how to settle down.
The little mysterious plot line on this one had me on the EDGE! I FaceTimed my best friend while reading this book with her and every time we finished a chapter someone would shout “OKAY BUT WHO IS IT?” So many questions, so many theories.
Devney never fails to write in a way that has me entranced. The stories and worlds she writes have me so obsessed that I don’t know how to close the book and I need more. This book is nothing short of that.
I cannot wait to see what’s to come after this!

“It’s never been temporary, baby. I only said that to get you under this roof. But make no mistake, you’re not going anywhere.”
Omgggg it’s never fails for Devney Perry to make me cry😭😭 Her writing is also so beautiful and this story was so sweet.
I do have to say the highlight of this book for me was Jax!!! That man is a walking green flag, and I absolutely loved him from the first chapter. Whether or not him and Sasha were having a baby you could tell he just wanted to be with her for HER. However, Sasha was pissing me off through this book… I understand she was worried and scared but DAMN THATS A GOOD MAN SAVANNAH and she was like la la la😐 I would’ve jumped him so quick. So far very much enjoying this series🫶🏻
**Forever Grateful to Valentine PR & NetGalley for this ARC**
Oh my goodness! I loved everything about this book! Cowboy hero, surprise pregnancy, wounded but strong heroine, and a touch of mystery? Yes please!
The push and pull between Jax and Sasha was perfect. Not too much angst but just enough to pull on your heartstrings. Sasha has been through so much hurt in her life. The mystery surrounding her letters to Eddie added an excellent layer to the story. She is fiercely independent and so strong. Jax is patient, so very patient and I just love his heart. He helped Sasha to heal and find happiness. They were thrown for a loop with the pregnancy but handled it so well. I loved how they got to know one another with their "tell me a lie/tell me a secret" game. This series has been phenomenal!
ARC review.
I think I liked Sunlight more than Crossroads (and I didn’t think that would be possible)!
Jax and Sasha were such great characters! Both by themselves and also together as a couple.
I’m a sucker for the surprise pregnancy trope and this one was fantastic!
Sasha is an independent girl with a lot on her shoulders who needs this new job on the ranch to work out. Jax is the cowboy/ranch hand that loves a good time. When they first meet, it was definitely like at first sight for both of them. Unfortunately, work got in the way… but not for long!
I cannot wait for everyone to read this!
Sunlight is available for preorder now, and comes out October 15th! 💛
Thank you @devneyperry & @valentine_pr_ for this ARC!

I loved stepping back into Haven River Ranch and reading about Jax and Sasha. It was such a feel good cozy book. The story was enjoyable from start to finish. It pulled at my heart strings on numerous occasions and I enjoyed each character’s complexity. I continue to really love Devney’s writing and how she weaves a story. Definitely a book I will recommend in the future.
Thank you so much to Valentine PR, Netgalley, & Devney Perry for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are my own. 🫶🏻
“Jax Haven was the type of man who'd move mountains to keep a promise, even if it destroyed us both.”

💛 Accidental pregnancy
💛 One-night stand
💛 Small town
💛 Forced proximity
💛 Workplace romance
💛 He’s her boss
If there is one thing Devney knows how to get right it’s how to write a small town romance with just enough intensity and mystery to keep you on the edge of your seat. Sunlight did not disappoint on this front. I was second guessing myself on what was going to be revealed constantly, and when it was I was surprised that I was so off the mark.
I thought that Crossroads would be my favourite book in this series, but now I’m glad to be very much mistaken. Jax and Sasha were the absolute perfect characters to tell this story of love after loss and abandonment. I was certainly drawn into them as characters and fully immersed myself in their feelings of coming to love one another after such difficult childhoods.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who will listen, and then I’ll still recommend it to those that won’t. d definitely recommend this book to anyone who will listen, and then I’ll still recommend it to those that won’t.
I was squealing in excitement when I received this!
It's no secret that I am a huge Devney fan. Her writing just soothes my soul.
I've never wanted to be in a world so badly.
As for Sunlight.. it did not disappoint!
Jax was everything I had hoped for, his witty fun banter with Sasha was just perfect.
His friendship with Emery just made my heart happy.
Sasha's past was a sad/beautiful addition to the story.
Overall I was thoroughly immersed in Haven River Ranch once again.
I was so pumped to read Sunlight as an ARC after falling in love with Haven River Ranch in Crossroads.
This story follows Jax (the younger Haven brother) and Sasha (the new Assistant Manager and out of towner).
I went into this one pretty blind because I’ve come to trust whatever Devney puts out. You can always count on her characters to have a ton of emotional depth and for her stories to make you feel the whole spectrum of emotions.
I really enjoyed coming back to Montana at Haven River Ranch in this story and I look forward to any future installments.

"tell me a lie" "I hate Montana" "tell me a secret" "I love you"
UGH, I want to stay in Haven River Ranch forever. One of my favorite things about Devney Perry's writing is that she doesn't mess around, she gets right to the point & gives the people what they want - and this was no exception.
small town / cowboy romance, accidental pregnancy, forced proximity, grumpy/grumpy? ("I'm grumpy" "Me too" "wanna be grumpy together?")
Thanks to this book, I have come to the realization that I actually do enjoy the accidental pregnancy trope, when done like this. Where it's a one night stand and they don't just get together out of obligation, but because as they prepare for the baby they genuinely fall for each other. It's so much more believable and satisfying
I swear Devney doesn’t miss. This series has started off so good! Jax and Sasha’s story has been my favorite so far. Excited to see what else is in store for this series!
“Tell me a lie”
“I hate Montana”
“Tell me a secret”
“I love you”
Devney has blown my mind since I discovered her back in 2022. So when I finished Crossroads it didn’t surprise me how much I loved Haven River Ranch and all its characters.
Jax caught my eye from the very start, and I knew I needed his book. Devney didn’t disappoint with this one. I know accidental pregnancy is not everyone’s cup of tea, but I personally love it and she absolutely smashed it!
This book was precious, their chemistry was through the roof. Can we talk about their adorable meet cute? Their banter?! *chef kiss* One element I absolutely adored? Their little game of tell me a secret/lie! It was soo cute and was the perfect conduit for them to know each other.
Sasha, has to be one of my favourites fmc, Devney has written so far. Loved her character growth, and how she didn’t let her past control her future. Jax was incredible, our dashing cowboy with a heart of gold. I really appreciate how patient he was with her and how he helped her overcome those walls she had.
Definitely read this one if you love:
✨Small town romance
✨Cowboy romance
✨Accidental pregnancy
✨Workplace romance
✨Forced proximity
Thank you Devney Perry, VPN and NetGalley for the ARC!
Part of me wanted to wait until my physical copy got here, but I felt like I was gatekeeping an amazing new release. Sunlight by Devney Perry is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series. Thank you so much @valentine_pr_ for allowing me to read it early!
Release Date: October 15, 2024.
To avoid spoilers this book takes place years after Crossroads. We are following Jax and a worker being brought on to work at the hotel, Sasha. They have the most adorable meet cute until she realizes he’s going to be her boss. Can they keep this boss/worker relationship going or will they not be able to keep their hands off of each other causing a whole slew of other problems for themselves?
❤️Review❤️
I loved Crossroads, but I think I loved this one even more. The small town vibes were definitely vibing. I find this community to be so interesting to get to know. I can vividly picture what it must look like and how it functions without ever stepping foot in Montana. It’s not a trope I usually love, accidental pregnancy, but it was definitely well thought out and written well. I believed their story and their chemistry. I’m sure you aren’t surprised to find out that I sobbed like a baby during this book. As much as I don’t love accidental pregnancy in books, there was something so beautiful about watching their relationship with each other grow and watching them become parents. It brought their characters to another level. I appreciated getting snippets of Indya and West from the first book. Getting to see what their life is like now in the background melted my heart. I absolutely can’t wait to see where it goes next!
5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Have you ever been to Montana? Is it as gorgeous as this book cover leads me to believe?

Sunlight is book two in the Haven River Ranch Series by Devney Perry. It picks up mostly where the reader was left at the end of Crossroads, with some background on how Sasha and Jax meet. This story actually has a very fun and sweet “meet cute” and made me giggle through the whole thing. However, they go through a push and pull in their relationship until one night changes everything.
Surprise pregnancy is one of my favorite tropes because I like watching the main characters navigate it, whether together from the beginning, like this story or years down the line. For this story, I loved seeing how independent Sasha learned how to trust and rely on Jax, while also watching Jax move out of his “playboy” phase. Jax definitely falls first and falls hard, however I really liked how he still gave Sasha her space to process what happened. But also not too much space in the sense that he let her know that he was there for her no matter what.
This was a quick, heartfelt, and fun contemporary romance read. Read if you like: surprise pregnancy, he falls first, small town romance
I was super lucky and received an advanced copy of this!! Just when I think she can’t top the previous book, she blows me away. I loved their relationship, it was so back and forth mostly her. I also spent entirely too much of my time imagining who Eddie was. I felt so bad for Jax because of the way Lily treated him and how much that hurt him even as an adult. I just wanted her to admit she was wrong. I also craved a scene between her and Curtis like no other. Haha. Needless to say I was not disappointed, it was such a good book and I just don’t know what to do with myself now.
