This is a breezy lighthearted read with a touch of southern charm, romance, and ghosts. Set in Last Chance, South Carolina, this is book #7 but each book revolves around a different main character so reading them out of order isn't really a problem.
A delightful tale of ghosts, secrets, longing, and romance.
Many thanks to Forever and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is one of my faves from Fern. It has a few ghosts, few secrets and a few stolen glances. It made my heart ache. I loved this book so much.
Picked this up for the cover and was expecting a nice lovely romance. Instead, I got a...ghost story? Ok. And a semi-Christian one at that?
Once I got over that, this book wasn't too bad. The Christian elements weren't that overdone and the ghost story was neat. The only thing that did annoy me is that the hero was Mr. Grumpy-pants and the heroine should have whacked on the nose at least once to let him know such behavior was not appropriate.
So...sort of...recommended? Decent for whiling away some time.
I love everything Hope Ramsay writes and this was no exception. I always enjoy a visit to her fictional small towns.
A B&B made out of a place that has been haunted for years... Have an author who always writes in this location and he is stuck... all things come together in the end
Sweet romance, easy read! My first book by this author and I enjoyed it.
Jenny Carpenter, a former teacher, has plans for her spinster life: she buys a haunted mansion and decides to turn it into a B & B.
A new problem arises in her life when former owner, the famous horror writer Gabriel Raintree, arrives in the city wanting the house back.
Jenny does not agree to resell for him, but agrees to him stay there, after he has done something to help the town library.
At first glance the couple does not seem to have any connection.
Gabriel is going through a difficult transition in his life, which makes him unable to finish writing his next novel, and still brings ghostly memories of the past.
Over time, the two become friends, and from that friendship, something else can arise.
Jenny takes on the responsibility of helping Gabriel overcome the past and make him less grumpy.
Although this was #7 in the series, I did not know any of them.
The cover resembles another Debbie Macomber series and I think that's what made me curious about the book, but the characters, though interesting because they were more mature in age, did not catch me.

Due to downloading difficulties, I was not able to read this book.
Cleaning up my netgalley still of some of the books that didn't get downloaded or just are not on my kindle for some reason. Sorry I didn't get to this book.
I found this to be a book that would capture my mother's attention. So I would buy it as a gift for her.
