HOW TO TRAVEL THE WORLD FOR FREE is not quite what I was expecting. I thought it would be ways to find good deals, cheap eats, and luxury on a dime. Not so. Michael Wigge tries lots of unconventional things including dumpster diving in Berlin, shoveling hay, hiring himself out as a butler. Sounds too much like work, but it seems to have worked for Wigge.
I got this book for my son, a budding traveller. He relayed that the book is full of great tips on traveling on a budget. Especially if you are young and willing to be slightly uncomfortable both physically and mentally. My mother would not receive this book with such enthusiasm
This book was okay as I read it for free. However I found it a little hard to read, despite the interesting title and topic. I don't know how feasible or realistic his story actually is. He frequently begs to get to places, despite having a credit card to use. I think that begging really isn't really a suitable way or method for travelling free especially when you're begging in very poor countries.
