“White Wings of Desire,” by Avery Conner
Evelyn is an assassin who is now being hunted and stalked by another assassin, The White Dove Killer. No matter where she goes, he will follow, there is no way out for her. Noah is hunting Evelyn for his contract but something about her allures him in. He’s never questioned or failed at a job before but all he wants is to make her his.
This book is a good stalker/ assassin book. Their relationship was complicated and messy, but I wanted them to be together the entire book. This book is more character driven than plot driven, and the characters were relatable and interesting. The book didn’t feel too overly dark, but it also didn’t feel too lighthearted, it was the perfect mix of the stalking and killing. 4 out of 5 stars.
Thank you for the free copy, Netgalley.
Thank you Netgalley for sending me an ARC of this.
Unfortunately this wasn't really for me. I don't think it's the books fault, since my reading slump is disturbing everything, so I will try to read it again later!
I'm going to give it 4 stars for now
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this arc.
I enjoyed the plot of this story but not the writing style. I DNF at 25%
Hm. Probably an unpopular opinion, but this wasnt for me. There are a few words in the English language that I detest, and right off the bat, there is one. It just wasnt for me, too much so in your face.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Stars
In "White Wing Of Desire," Evelyn Black finds herself unexpectedly targeted by the deadliest man of their generation. Their first encounter defies expectations when he lets her escape instead of killing her.
Now trapped in his dangerous game, Evelyn must do whatever it takes to survive, even if it means playing by his rules. On the other side, the White Dove Killer, known for his efficiency, is thrown off course by a missed shot aimed at Evelyn. Intrigued by her, he becomes determined to possess her, dead or alive.
As tensions rise between them, Evelyn and the White Dove Killer find themselves drawn together in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
This was an action-packed journey from start to finish!
Noah's stalker-book-boyfriend vibes and Evelyn's strength make for an electrifying dynamic that kept me hooked. Despite being Avery's debut novel, the storytelling prowess shines, with thrilling cat-and-mouse games and mind games that kept me on edge.
The pacing strikes a perfect balance, ensuring key scenes receive the attention they deserve! While tension may briefly dip when Evelyn visits Noah's house, it quickly rebounds, keeping suspense high.
I loved this book and highly recommend to dark romance fans that are not afraid of a few trigger warnings.
