This is an amazing picture book on the winter season. Illustrations were also windy like in winters full of hazy snow carrier. Author here covered from clothes of winters to the food and festivities. Humans and animals both were depicted like how they behave and keep themselves in winters. No doubt winter is one of the more cherished season, if you're in a good place to enjoy it. Variety of Quality food and cozy quilts, body-packed wearables and for me it the best time to read as much as I want during long nights.
I really liked this book and surely it will give better memorable time to young readers and take them to their preoccupied memories in their minds the earlier times in winter season which they would have enjoyed with their friends and families.
This book is nice. It lists things that happen in the winter both for humans and animals alike. It mentions dreams of spring, but that there is still plenty of time for winter. If nothing wrong with this book, there’s also nothing fantastic. It’s a nice read that kids will enjoy but will not stay on shells forever.
A visually stunning picture book that brings the magic of winter to life from the very first page and an excellent addition to any library's picture book collection. A fantastic choice for a library story time as young patrons will be able to relate to the simple text and clear images, and an equally amazing book to share with a lap sitting child one on one as the detailed illustrations provide so much to explore and examine. Young readers will engage with the animals, the weather, the clothes, and the customs of the season over and over again, finding new things each time. Thank you to NetGalley for access to this magical winter arc.
This is a Children's book that I read to my twin boys. I really enjoyed reading this cute and fun book all about winter. I love that it shows winter is just as important as summer. The pictures were very fun and cute. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

A lovely story sharing the changes all around during the winter months. From the weather changes, the animal changes, to celebrations and what we wear. This book explores the wonders of the season.
It was a nice sweet, short book, with big illustrations that were really pretty to look at. I loved that it showed all three of the big celebrations during this season, sharing the similarities and the differences.
This book is an easy to read story perfect for young readers or for a family read together, it will get you cosy and ready for the colder months as they approach and share everything the season has planned. I really enjoyed this sweet book and loved the illustrations.
The illustrations are the star of this book. The frosty fun on every page made for a chilly fun read. The author explores winter, from many perspectives; a child, an adult, and animals are all laid out in this beautiful, easy-to-read book.
This book is absolutely perfect for younger readers to help them learn a little bit about seasons and descriptive words. I don't have anything bad to say about this book, honestly. The illustrations were absolutely impeccable. Some notable illustrations were those of dogs, the Northern Lights, and stars. These looked so beautiful and realistic, they could leap off of the page into the real world. This will be perfect for the younger kids reading this book (or having it read it to them) and will definitely keep them engaged and interested. Lastly, the story flowed well and touched on a lot of good points (animals hibernating, the cold weather, waiting for spring to come, etc). This will no doubt help kids learn about winter and the changing of the seasons, without getting overwhelmed with information. In less words, this book was poetically informative, especially for the intended audience.

Such a sweet story! It was very simple, with just a few words on each page so for a younger audience I think it would keep them engaged, but I do think that with such a simple storyline that the illustrations should wow. There were some pages I really loved and others that were just OK, but I loved how the book captured the quiet and calm of winter. Both of my kids also enjoyed the story (ages 5 and 7).
I suggest downloading it rather than sending it to kindle. The pictures get lost otherwise.
The illustrations in this story was gorgeous and not to be missed. The winter theme was cute. Overall, it was a cute story. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

A beautiful, simple book about the season of winter. This is perfect for young children and would be a great resource for me, an ESL/ELL teacher since the language is simple but the pictures are captivating and engaging.
This is a great story for very young readers. The font choice would be difficult for young readers to independently read.
The storyline does a good job explaining what animals, humans do during winter.
This book felt like it was wrapping up and then added the signs of spring and kept going? I think a natural ending already exists in there.
In The Winter is a simple but beautiful narrative about a truly magical time of year. I love that when the author mentions the holidays she's not discussing specifics and is extremely inclusive. The illustrations capture the magic.of the season too, they're beautiful.
The text is simple but effective combined with the delightful illustrations depicting the wonders of snow season.
The illustrations by the author are clear, imaginative, colorful, and cheery.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or your local public library!

Thank you to NetGalley for an e- copy of In the Winter by Lauren Kukla in exchange for a honest review. This is a wonderful children’s book for winter lovers like me. It tells of the animals who hibernate in the winter and those that love to stay indoors during this time . It tells of a special time when holidays are celebrated and families gather and it tells of magical times when it snows and it transforms the world . As the reader you feel you are part of the story . Beautiful illustrations too.
One of the better season focused books, in my opinion. It doesn't just focus on weather but on relationships and gatherings during the winter. New life coming from the old. Darkness and bringing our own light.
Lovely illustrations. Would love to read this during a story time at my library.
