I used to really enjoy Piers Anthony's books, but unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to finish this one. The punnish humour which I used to find endearingly funny just felt grating in the first few chapters, and I found myself hating the whole concept very quickly.
It may be me who's changed, rather than the author, so I'm planning to leave my Xanth reading firmly in the past, just in case...
