LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I had to buy the paperback immediately after finishing as it is that good. 5/5 stars .
I adore Nina Kenwood’s books. They’re relatable, funny & packed full of heart.
I’m sure that in previous reviews I’ve accused @Nina of stealing anxiety-riddled self talk direct from my mind because I’ve identified so clearly with the awkward but endearing characters she creates in her YA fiction. So when I heard Nina was working on her first adult release, you just know I was excited!
The Wedding Forecast is absolutely on my list of favourite romances of the year! It grabbed me with the perfect amount of angst and uncertainty, the loveliest of love interests, a few heart wrenching ouches & the best of swoon-worthy moments. The hammock scene lives in my mind rent-free *swoons*
And the chemistry - ah! It made my little heart sing.
Anna, oh Anna. I know you. Nina Kenwood puts panicky & spiraling on the page so well without it feeling at all suffocating. Anna’s great leaps of catastrophising at each twist & turn were hilarious but again, so relatable.
This book just had me and I couldn’t put it down. In fact, it all wrapped up a little faster than I was emotionally prepared for. I was so invested in the characters, the relationship & this world that I was genuinely swiping at my e-reader, trying to turn to a page that wasn’t there. (A sequel perhaps? I’d happily read it!!)
Rom com readers, here’s an Aussie book that you will absolutely adore!
I absolutely adored this book! It was fun and flirty and heartwarming and hilarious. I loved Anna, and especially loved how relatable she was. Mac was an ideal book boyfriend and the side characters were all such fun! Highly recommend
Isn't Nina Kenwood an absolute gem! There is something about her humour that just really appeals to me. I was reading this one whilst camping in a swag with my husband and I was giggling away to myself so much that he rolled over to ask what I was doing!
This is my third from Kenwood and she's an absolute must-read for me now. This one is a romantic comedy with all the necessary ingredients for me - funny lead whose a bit messed up, a hot love interest, witty banter, great friends, an alternate love interest, a messy ex situation. Predictable in some ways, but also kept me on my toes wondering how it would end up. "The Mums" were great too, and I loved the best friends whose mums were best friends element to the story (made me miss my childhood bestie!).
I don't have much else to say other than this would be a great holiday read, or one for when you just want a pick-me-up and a good chuckle. Loved it.
The Wedding Forecast is the first adult novel by Australian author, Nina Kenwood. Anna and Hayley, daughters of best friends Wendy and Bobbi, have themselves been best friends almost their whole lives. Hayley is getting married to Luke, and sharing a house for the wedding weekend are Hayley and Luke, Anna, Luke’s New York actor friend, Mac, and Luke’s best man, Joel, who also happens to be Anna’s ex, with his new girlfriend, Bianca.
It’s been several months, Anna is pretty sure she can cope with Joel’s presence, even with Bianca’s, as long as there’s not too much interaction required. But then Joel drops a bombshell. “I thought I was over him. I thought I had all the armour I needed, that there was no bomb he could lob that would disarm me, I was totally ready for this weekend, but not only can Joel still hurt me, intentional or not, he can hurt me so badly, so sharp and fresh, it’s like a brand new pain.”
More than once during the weekend, Mac comes to her support after acrimonious exchanges with Joel leave her upset but, as attractive as his kindness makes him, surely there’s no future with a New York based actor who, she has been assured, always puts his career first?
Coincidentally, Anna’s soulmate, as predicted by Psychic Sue, might just be Patrick, the wedding photographer, a good-looking redhead, a potential relationship Anna is willing to explore, one that surely has to be a better bet than Mac.
What a delightful romcom! The characters are appealing for all their very human flaws, the plot takes a few unexpected turns before the predictable-but-welcome happy-ever-after, and the dialogue is often laugh-out-loud funny. This is Nina Kenwood’s best yet.

Another 10/10 for this Nina Kenwood novel.
There's something about a Nina Kenwood novel that makes me read way past my bedtime!
A great entertaining read, that has this ex bookseller, feeling the love for everything book.bookshop/publishing related.
Friendship, Family, Romance and Books. Absolute winner
A romance of a different kind? Possibly. One that appealed to me? Maybe? I am all for a realistic romance, where yes I know there has to be some drama, but it’s a bit more plausible than most. And I’m even more pleased that this was an Australian romance! There is humour, there are crazy moments, there are tears and a few broken heart moments. Anna is a pretty likeable protagonist who seems focused on everyone else’s happiness but her own. And this story is about finding love just for herself as much as it is about finding out about herself. And Anna does this by finding out her newly ex-boyfriend who didn’t want children was expecting a child with his new girlfriend, her best friend’s (Hayley) parents and her own parents trying to set her up with the wedding photographer, by making a key decision about her uneventful job, and her curious connection to Mac, a wedding guest and friend of the groom.
There is a lot going on in this story, and the pace of it maintains momentum throughout. The only areas where I was a little disappointed with were the scenes with Hayley and her parents. The best friend vibe from Haley was lacklustre and both sets of parents we're so trite and annoying but I really felt sorry foreigner for Anna because she was so undeserving of their constant ridicule. It wasn't funny and it really did play on the fact that Anna was struggling to find out what and who she really wanted in her life.
I'm hoping that this is not the last book that Nina rights because these are the kind of romance stories that I really like and there's not many of them out there and I have to look through them very hard but knowing there's an Aussie writing like this makes my day a little brighter..
This is the most delightful rom-com—everything that I’ve come to expect from a Nina Kenwood book, but for adults. It’s laugh-out-loud funny and utterly relatable with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Super engaging and fun, it is a must-read for romance readers.
Text Publishing need to add a warning label: major book hangover alert.
'The Wedding Forecast' is about Anna discovering what she really wants in life and love, and, importantly, finding the strength to pursue her path, instead of compromising for what her partners want.
Nina Kenwood creates such compelling characters and I was so invested in Anna's journey. She was so relatable, feeling stuck and shocked by her ex-boyfriends revelation. Why is it what partners don't want suddenly become what they want after they leave you? I loved the banter between her and Mac as they dance around each other, drawn but knowing they see different futures for themselves.
I was so invested in this book. I laughed. Tears were shed. I also got very stressed towards the end unsure how everything was going to be resolved.
I loved it so much I went back after I finished and re-read all my favourite parts repeatedly. This is a book that will be a comfort re-read over the years to come.
Major thanks to Text Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Wedding Forecast and couldn’t put it down once I started. It’s a wonderful romantic comedy where it makes you feel warm and fuzzy and giddy with excitement.
Anna is our FMC and unfortunately for her she’s in the bridal party for her best friend’s wedding and so is her ex. It’s quite the event which had me giggling, upset and excited!
The romance, flirting and chemistry is on point and so much fun. An actor, a writer and a bookstore, what a perfect combination! I adored Mac so much, he was a delight! The mums made me laugh, the friendships were fabulous and the romance was gorgeous.
This book is also about life and what happens when things don’t go to plan. I loved how Anna dealt with this, and some of her changes in her life were mirroring mine so that was very relatable and encouraging!
All in all I loved this book, I wanted more at the end and could have read another 30 pages or so after the ending but it was still enough and I’m so happy!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Nina Kenwood has shown she can write adult novels just as easily as young adult. Not once did her writing come into question. It was enjoyable, and quite realistic; especially the situations Anna became stuck with her ex in.
I'm not a fan of love triangles, or the extended slow burn, so even though I didn't give this 5 stars, it's more of a plot issue for me and personal preference, not the book itself.
I blizted through this one in a couple of days! Nina Kenwood is so good at funny! The quips! The banter! The situations!! The romance is there too. A bit of a slow burn/on again - off again, but when it’s on it’s on. Loved!!!
This is a fun rom-com, with just enough engagement with serious issues to give the story needed ballast. The end result is a story that’s fun to read, maybe a touch predictable in places, and which feels a little more substantial than a “just for fun” romance.
Anna is bracing herself for a very bad weeked. Her best friend Hayley is marrying Luke, and Anna is determined to be a great best friend and maid of honor, and ensure it’s a fabulous wedding for them
There’s just one teeny little problem. Well, maybe two. For years Anna was seeing Luke’s friend, Josh. They were a happy little quartet. But shortly before the wedding, Josh breaks up with Anna. And now they have to share a house for the wedding weekend. And the other teeny little problem? Josh will be bringing his new girlfriend Bianca with him.
Anna also has to contend with meddling friends and family, who have decided that a psychic’s prediction means that Patrick, the wedding photographer, is her romantic destiny. Anna’s willing to consider it, but there’s a problem: the last housemate for the wedding. Luke’s childhood friend Mac, who’s flown in from America just for the wedding. Anna finds him… enticing.
There are some predictable moments and familiar beats here. No prizes for guessing, for example, that Bianca will turn out to be quite a nice person. And honestly, it’s near on impossible to write a rom com without including at least one familiar idea. However, there’s zip to the narration, genuine relationships, and adult problems, and that lends freshness and energy to the novel.
I enjoyed it, if I haven’t already made that clear. The characters were strong and empathetic. Anna’s various dilemmas were both very real and quite adult: although this is funny in places, it’s not slapstick by any means.
You’ll likely feel strongly for Anna and the seemingly impossible choices she’s faced with. Her decisions and actions are understandable, and more mature than some romantic heroines are. One particular choice is perhaps treated as if it’s a little more black and white than it needs to be, but overall the obstacles between her and her happy ever after feel quite realistic and substantial.
Will this change your life? Probably not. But it’ll give you a few hours of light hearted entertainment with just enough substance mixed in to make it feel satisfying. Recommended for those who want to engage both their heart and brain while enjoying a bit of fun.

WOW I mean WOW this book kept me hooked from the beginning to the end.
I have to admit I have never physically cried whilst reading a book, that was till now. The feelings this book made me feel, it was so real and I felt like I could fully relate to the FMC Anna, the detail that was put into her thoughts and feelings made her feel so relatable.
All of the characters had great details and I'm sure that every girl has a mum like Anna's or Bobbi! They kept making me giggle so hard
I can't talk about the book without talking about Mac... Oh. my. god. I couldn't deal with how much I adored him. He was so well written and I just fell for him from the beginning, the banter between him and Anna from the very beginning was hilarious.
I will be recommending this book to everyone that I know and Nina Kenwood you have me hooked!

I am obsessed with this book. I devoured it. And savoured it. And resented it when I had to put it down.
Nina Kenwood's debut adult novel follows Anna as she navigates her love life post-breakup of her 8-year long relationship. It is a chaotic, wholesome and heartwarming love story that starts with her ex's bombshell announcement at their best friends' wedding, and ends with (thankfully!) happily ever after. With plenty of spice in-between.
The author makes a seamless transition from YA to adult romcom and I honestly CANNOT wait for more.
Thank you for a lovely escape into the wonderful world of 'The Wedding Forecast'. I genuinely laughed out loud - Anna's inner dialogue is so on point.
Nina Kenwood's debut adult novel, "The Wedding Forecast," dives into Anna's chaotic journey as a bridesmaid at her best friend's wedding where her ex and his new partner are also in attendance. Despite the awkward setup of sharing a house with them, and facing the realities of turning thirty with a not-so-ideal life, Anna tries to keep it together—until Joel drops a bombshell. Enter Patrick, the wedding photographer who seems like the perfect distraction and potential match, until Mac, a charming actor from New York, shakes things up. Kenwood blends laugh-out-loud humour with palpable chemistry for a feel-good story that hits all the right notes.
