I loved this book. I felt that the book did a great job of debunking pseudoscience and of explaining how psychology, and indeed science, works. The book is well-paced and the writing fluid, with a conversational tone. All the science is explained very well and in plain language. The case studies helped immensely. Dr. Shea also shows a good sense of humour. The recaps at the end of the book are also helpful. I regard this book as a great self-help book in that it will help the reader know which interventions are scientifically supported and which aren’t. Overall this is a great read. Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Random House Canada for the advance reader copy.
