Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous is a sex positive Sapphic Romance story. While it had some slight pacing issues for me, I'm glad I read it. I def had fun with the characters.Diverse. Dual POV. Second chance troupe.
Wilifred Greene and Katie Price were best friends during their school years. But Katie left for Hollywood at eighteen and the two haven’t seen each other in person for thirteen years. Katie is coming home for the year-end holidays. While they haven’t talked to each other in person, they have kept behind the scenes. Both have millions of followers. Katie as a famous actress, and Wil as a famous TikTok influencer with a goal of kissing two new people every week. Maybe now they are both home in Green Bay, Wisconsin they can actually talk about their feelings for each other.
The story was okay as a whole I personally didn’t like the dialogue though, the conversations they had didn’t make any sense to me and someone else was reading it … also I think the narrators are very slow when reading , I don’t think this book should have been 13+ hours long . Over all I don’t think I would listen to /read the book again .
I made it 70% through before the audiobook was archived, and am eagerly awaiting a copy from the library to see how this story ends.
Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous is a sweet and fun romance about unrequited love and second chances - the perfect read for a trip back to your hometown. It requires the ideal amount of suspension of disbelief and leaves you hoping for a happy ending for every character. I'll be recommending it to my friends in their 30s who are completing summer reading challenges.

Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous follows Katie Price (famous actor) and Wil Greene (famous on tik tok for making out with strangers lol) as they reconnect 10 years after high school summer. Now famous and suffering from writer’s block Katie returns home to work on a new project away from any distractions.
Things I liked
I love a good friend to lovers trope, Idk i like when the characters have a backstory cause it feels less abrupt. Gotta love those homoerotic high school friendships lol.
I liked the chemistry between the MCs, usually I don’t really get why the characters like each other but I could actually understand because of the history
The dual perspectives really worked for this book
Things I didn’t like
I kinda wanted a more satisfying end for the ex cause he was the worst and deserve every bad thing in the world
*I received this ARC from NetGally to read and review in exchange for an honest review.*
Thank you Net Galley and St. Martins press for a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review!!! This book is told in dual point of views which is my favorite style of writing lately. It’s a very slow burn, yet a light hearted second chance romance, that you must pay attention to and not skim any part. There were parts that was hard to keep my focus, but overall this was an enjoyable read. I usually don’t like second chance romances, but these characters actually communicated openly and honestly with each other and that’s not something that is normally done with this trope.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the ALC! Thank you to St.Martin’s Press for the eARC!
This was such a sweet, sultry, and satisfying sapphic romance! I absolutely loved the second chance/friends to lovers trope here, particularly that both characters were “famous” in their own right, without it being over the top.
The TikTok channel Wil created - brilliant! This added SO much to the story and her character. I loved both FMCs and their moms! This book was a slow burn with great payoff, emotional growth for the characters and so so Dorothea and ‘Tis The Damn Season coded. I couldn’t get enough! I hope there is more from this writing duo! 💚
I’m not dnfing just sitting on the shelf. Thought it was gonna be light cute and smutty. Is not. The narration is amazing. The story has promise. It’s just not for me right now.
I just finished Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous - A Novel- by Mae Marve Narrated by Mia Hutchinson-Shaw and here are my musings.
Katie Price is a household name. She’s that A-lister but when she does manage to make it home, shes just the girl next door. When she makes the decision to go home for christmas, she doesn’t anticipate it will lead her right back to Wil Greene.
A lot has changed for both of them but Wil is still the girl she remembers and she watches her channel twice a week, a channel where she kisses a new person every time. She is a celeb in her own right.
The more time they spend together, the more they grow closer together but can they make it with the whole world watching?
The narration was fine but I really didn’t connect with this book the way I wanted to. I don’t see how two people who felt that way about each other, just doesn’t talk for years. I didn’t feel normal or natural to me.
I loved the idea of this book. It sounded so great but the characters didn’t crack the one dimensional world for me.
The last hour of the book kinda made up for it but I needed more from this book.

Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous feels like a future classic queer novel! The story follows two ex-best friends as they reunite and come to terms with new and old revelations. The romance feels so true to life. It's the classic gay love story of realizing your friendship with someone was more than that a minute too late. Except these characters get their second chance, and make the most of it. Additionally, this novel balances a really endearing and tension-filled romance with bittersweet, grounded themes quite well. While this novel can be sad at times, the characters and themes are always growing in a very authentic and moving way. Overall, I'm so glad I picked this up. I've read a lot of rom-coms lately, and I think I needed something with a little more depth like this. I highly recommend this novel, especially to LGBTQ+ readers who will find inevitably find something in it to relate to. (And on a more lighthearted note, I loved the gay cat mom rep, lol)
Senior year it all changed, Katie and Wil's friendship started to evolve. But it was forgotten almost as quickly as it seemed to build. Katie went off to become a famous actor and well, Wil stayed home to care for her dad. Putting law school plans on hold to be with her father in his final years, Wil hasn't jumped back in.
Katie hasn't dated since her traumatic break up, and Wil has since become TikTok famous for kissing a new person twice a week for 60 seconds. Yet as Katie returns home it's as if no times has passed, and the whole world has changed all at once. Nuanced, strong females, remind readers of some important life lessons, as these friends rekindle and reignite.
This book was fine to me. I found a lot of the plot points to be forced. I could not understand how kissing strangers on TikTok was as big of a plot point as it was, I am not sure what it was doing for the book.
The couple’s moms were best friends and they were the same age but they hardly knew each other until their senior year of high school? I found that hard to believe. If their moms were as close as it seems like they were it would have been nearly impossible for them to not also have been close, even through association.
The attention between the characters seemed genuine, at least. And I enjoyed all of the content with the cats. But I felt like the book could have been flushed out better.
An insurance adjuster by day and TikTok star by night, Wil Green has the chance to realize unfulfilled dreams when her long-lost best friend, Hollywood star Katie Price, returns to their hometown of Green Bay for the holidays.
The premise for this book was really cute and Wil and Katie are a sweet pair. I appreciated the authors' aim to make all feel included within the pages. Great narration for the audiobook. I did feel like the story was way too long and could have ended in several places, and some scenes felt wholly unnecessary. Some of the dialogue did not feel very real world. I also could have used a bit more conflict as Wil and Katie sought their happily ever after.
2.5 stars.
I liked this book but didn’t love it. I appreciated the bisexual/pansexual representation, the good amount of spice, and the Midwestern references. I found the unique concept of Wil’s TikTok channel to be really interesting but I also thought some of the plot points tied to it were a bit of a stretch. I thought the pacing and overall plot were just okay. For a lot of the book, I was a bit bored and felt like the characters were not flushed out enough for me to feel invested in them and their stories. I could see some folks loving this book, but it was just a solid 2.75/3 stars for me. I did listen to the audiobook and thought the narration was great!
I overall enjoyed the experience of reading this book! It was a sweet friends to lovers story as a whole. However, there were just a few too many characters and it was a bit longer than I felt like it needed to be. Especially because the "conflict" didn't seem particularly too difficult to resolve. Did love the mom characters a lot, though, that was a fun addition!
I loved this book so much.
While there wasn’t a lot of spice the sexual tension was on every single page. I love a friends to lovers trope, this book had that mixed with a second chance romance in the form of a very common queer experience of falling in love with your best friend long before you saw those feelings for what they were. This book did some deep healing for my little bisexual heart, getting to see that kind of relationship healed was so wonderful.
The book also had some really fun side stories that gave the whole plot so much more dimension without taking away from the romance. As with most sapphic romances I’ve read it also spent a good amount of time really exploring the emotions behind each character, this simultaneously creates incredibly well rounded characters and gives the reader examples of healthy ways to express emotions and be vulnerable with people. That is one of the many reasons I love sapphic romances so much, the communication is always so much more realistic, there is nothing hotter than emotional intelligence.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Mia Hutchinson-Shaw and she did a wonderful job. Especially with the parents’ midwestern accents, they were adorable. I would absolutely recommend listening to the book, it translated to audio very well!
I’m not sure why but I went into this thinking it was a YA book, which it very much isn’t, so it took me a while to get into it. But it was a cute book, perfect to read by the pool or on vacation.
this was such a fun read. i loved katie & her cats so much!! oh and wil was also there. lol overall, this was a very enjoyable read. some of the chapters were a little too long and dragged a little, but i still really enjoyed this book. the narrator did a phenomenal job & was probably one of the only reasons i kept listening. overall, it was okay, but not my favorite.
This could have been a really good book but even with suspension of disbelief this was just to unrealistic. It felt very 90s to me in just how inhuman everyone was. It felt like now one was a real person. It was very odd. All of it just felt to odd.
I know this one has received quite a bit of praise, and I was looking forward to reading… but I struggled to get through! I couldn’t connect to the writing, the storyline or the characters. That is unusual for me! I can’t pinpoint exactly what it was, but I really struggled. This book isn’t bad, I just didn’t enjoy it. It felt pretty immature and you could really tell the author wasn’t very experienced (I’ve read many debut novels before with various degrees of talent, and this one is probably in the middle - Marvel’s not an untalented author, just needs more time … though is this a cowrite from experienced authors?). The emotional abuse that one character suffered in a previous relationship wasn’t really handled or explored very well.
I picked this title up because the premise sounded like it was unique and I generally do enjoy sapphic romance. As it took me two weeks to get through and I had to keep coming back to it (if it wasn’t an arc, I probably would have DNF by halfway because I was so uninterested, and uninvested). I did make it through, but never managed to find any interest in Katie, the actress, and her terrible past and conflict with her ex, Ben, who after a decade was still trying to control her life in Hollywood… or Wil (Willifred), and her super weird tiktok show about kissing strangers (totally creepy). The pair was besties in high school, their mom’s are besties, and yet Katie’s mom would never let Wil near her or speak to her after she left for Hollywood… also extremely weird. After they reconnect when Katie finally comes home for Christmas and they realize they were really always meant to be… yeah - It never got better.
I think the narrator, Mia Hutchinson-Shaw, was the only saving grace for me. She is an unfamiliar voice but definitely does save what was otherwise a difficult, slow-going, difficult story that I had high hopes for.
I received an advance read and listen copy from NetGalley, St. Martin's Press (St. Martin's Griffin) and Macmillan Audio, and this is my honest feedback.
It was cute. Was it the best book I’ve ever read? Probably not. But for a girl that doesn’t typically pick up a lot of romances, this one kept my attention and had endearing enough characters that I did find myself invested in their outcomes.
My biggest issue was that the “will they won’t they” part of the book resolved too quickly which left the second half of the book feeling a bit disconnected from the first half.
