Katie Price and Wil Greene grew up together in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Their mother’s are best friends. They got close and became inseparable their senior year of high school. They don’t meet up again for over a decade.

They’ve each had their challenges. Wil’s beloved father passed away and she sort of gets stuck in place not continuing onto law school where she was accepted. She has a job she enjoys and has created a very popular social media channel that involves her kissing someone new weekly. Katie has fame, money and awards but is haunted by the famous actor that continually claims she owes her entire career to him even though she fled from him ten years ago. There is a lot of insecurity from her relationship with him. But she is on the cusp of wanting to start her own production company and wanting to direct films. It is a perfect time for these two friends to connect and recognize how strong their feelings once were for each other.

Both characters are very likable, smart and talented in their own ways. They are wonderfully talkative and honest with each other. And the attraction is there but Katie’s life is especially complicated by her fame. They put off kissing, building tension until they know they want a chance for more. There is a lot of light humor, especially in Katie’s runaway thoughts and comments when she is nervous. Side characters are there in the moms and Katie’s agent but the focus is on Katie and Wil. I enjoyed the chapters where the two were dealing with things on their own as well as their time together. It showed their progression and willingness to move forward towards their goals. The book does feel long but I just chose to enjoy the extra time with the pair. I’d consider this a second chance romance even though they never were really romantic the first time around.

I received an ARC of the book from St. Martin’s Press and a copy of the audio book from Macmillan Audio. I enjoyed alternating between both. The narration by Mia Hutchinson-Shaw was great and I found myself reading words like "Katie Kat'' in the same voice she used. I can recommend either depending on your preference. This is a book I can easily revisit and read again.

This book was sapphic and hot and everyone should be reading it this summer! My only hang up was that Diana and Katie’s dad are made out to be such wonderful parents … so where were they during the three years of Ben????? That really confused me. But otherwise really loved the book.

i've been swinging and missing within the romance genre lately, so this book was a pretty refreshing departure from low star ratings and the DNFs i've been experiencing.

here's the story of katie price, award-winning celebrity, actress, and filmmaker, but most importantly, childhood best friend of one very stuck wil price, grieving the loss of her father and not quite able to ignite her motivation to finish up law school. instead, she's reached her own level of fame - she's kissing strangers on the internet in sixty second clips she posts to tiktok in a project about connection and intimacy.

and connect is what katie and wil begin to do again. they've lost touch over the years for multiple reasons, some of them sabotage from katie's inner circle. via continued harassment via an older ex that's furiously clutching at katie's coattails to stay relevant in the media, katie's grown frustrated with her life, with the continued gossip circling around her and her private life, with her ex-boyfriend's lies threatening her chances at career growth.

i found this a pretty refreshing read. some parts of this book were a lil weird (did busy phillips consent to all that? lol) but one of my pet peeves with romance is when two people don't communicate and talk out their issues with adults. i can't really say that happened a lot here. sometimes i felt like katie should have spoken up, but a lot of her issues with communication lived with her trauma which i felt like the book did a good job of gently walking us through. even with sex - yes, i know - there was a scene where they asked each other if they were okay with penetration. especially with trauma in the mix, the existence of stone tops and touch-me-nots within the lesbian community, it was refreshing to see this written on page.

where i think this book struggled was with pace/length. this book was a lot longer than i think was strictly necessary, especially for a romance. i did zone out a little in places. also, maybe this is just me being single, but i'm not sure i understood the purpose of wil's kissing project other than to create chemistry between wil and katie. but even with that, i didn't mind. this was super cute and a recommendation from me.

Going to make this short (unlike this book - it was painfully too long).

🩷I loved the love and respect the 2 MCs had for each other

🤦🏼‍♀️I was bored by everything else. Not like dislike but zzzzz

I was pretty excited for this sapphic celebrity romance with former best friends that takes place in my homestate of Wisconsin (really like 30 minutes from where I live now)! And there were parts I liked - I did adore the Wisconsin references (the Bay Beach shout out made me laugh) and that there wasn't a third act breakup. The relationship itself was fine? I wasn't particularly compelled by it but I also didn't hate them together.

But...a lot of this just didn't work for me and I'm having a hard time describing exactly why. There are little things that I didn't love - the timeline jumps towards the end that we weren't told about, the teacher storyline. And there were parts that I just thought were a little odd - really this is primarily the cats and their augmented communication board...

So ultimately there wasn't some big overarching thing that made me not like this book, so I think it just wasn't for me!

I will say that if I had not had the audio, I'm pretty sure I would have DNF'd. But I liked the narration enough to keep going and listened to a bulk of it while painting a dresser and it wasn't a terrible way to spend that time.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the ALC. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Mae Marvel’s Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous is a captivating and heartfelt sapphic romance that effortlessly blends Hollywood glamor with the nostalgia of small-town life. This novel is a standout among 2024’s most anticipated LGBTQ+ reads, and it’s easy to see why.

Katie Price, a small-town girl turned A-list celebrity, and Wil Greene, a lawyer whose career hasn't quite taken off, are the heart of this poignant and steamy tale. Marvel masterfully explores the complexities of rekindling a romance with someone from your past, particularly when both characters have undergone significant changes since their last encounter.

Katie’s return to her hometown in Wisconsin sets the stage for a deeply emotional reunion with Wil. The author does an excellent job of capturing the essence of their shared history and the magnetic pull that still exists between them. Wil’s unconventional challenge—kissing a new person twice a week—adds an intriguing layer to her character, showcasing her struggle with grief and stagnation following her father’s death. This aspect of the story is both unique and relatable, making Wil’s journey of self-discovery and healing all the more compelling.

Marvel’s writing shines through in the vivid depiction of the protagonists’ reconnection. The chemistry between Katie and Wil is palpable, and their interactions are charged with a blend of tenderness, wit, and undeniable passion. The scenes where they navigate their renewed relationship are written with an authenticity that captures the essence of long-lost love reignited.

The novel also delves into the challenges of balancing personal desires with professional demands. Katie’s high-profile life contrasts sharply with Wil’s more grounded existence, creating a dynamic tension that keeps readers engaged. Their journey to find common ground and build a future together is both inspiring and heartwarming.

Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous is not just a romance; it’s a story about second chances, self-acceptance, and the courage to pursue what truly matters. Marvel’s ability to blend humor with emotional depth makes this book a joy to read. The dialogue is sharp and engaging, the pacing is perfect, and the characters are richly developed.

For fans of Alexandria Bellefleur and Casey McQuiston, this novel is a must-read. It offers all the elements of a great romance: compelling characters, a gripping storyline, and a satisfying conclusion. Marvel has crafted a narrative that is both sweetly tender and arrestingly sexy, leaving readers with a sense of hope and a smile on their faces.

In conclusion, Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous is a five-star read that will resonate with anyone who has ever wondered about the one that got away. Mae Marvel’s debut is a brilliant exploration of love, loss, and the magic of finding your way back to where you belong.

It’s a simple concept. Two friends grow apart and grow up into two very different types of fame. Katie became a famous actress who has now also directed an episode of television. Will became a tiktok star by making videos of herself kissing people who were basically strangers. Katie wants to write and direct feature films. So she’s goes back to Green Bay where she hasn’t seen Will in years. And then things collide. Their lives. Their lips. Their fame. And it’s a pleasant question of where does this take us? How far can you go when the collision is so instant? Turns out, pretty far. It’s a queer second chance that deserves its flowers. It’s a sweet kiss of a book that takes on important topics like hollywood age gap romances. The characters are likable and the the plot runs smooth. This book had me in my feels. It was touching with an appropriate amount of spice for the characters’ ages, not overwhelming like some books. It was a book that was adult exploring adult themes, but also a book that wouldn’t be out of place to give to an older teen.

Everyone I kissed since you got famous follows two different voices. I will say that I was not overly interested in either POV, one of them is and has been in love with her old friend for years. The other one is currently famous and she is returning to her hometown for a break after filming and directing multiple projects.

I think that I was just bored and the chapters were very long, which made it hard for me to get into the book fully. Both characters were kind of annoying me too.

Overall, I think that the book just wasn't for me.

First thing’s first: thank you Netgalley for the ALC of this book!
Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous is a sapphic love story of Katie and Wil, high school best friends who were in love with each other but never admitted it before their lives went separate ways. They reconnect 13 years after graduation, 13 years after Katie becomes an A list celebrity and Wil has a popular TikTok account where she kisses strangers.
This book was pretty cute but entirely too long. This story felt like it just sort of drug on and on and on. There wasn’t any big action or conflict, just a lot of story. Some people love that, but I was finding myself wishing they would just move on. I think this could have been edited better as much of the story wasn’t interesting and didn’t matter in the long run.

What would you even call this?? Second chance? Right person, wrong time? One of the cutest little celebrity romances in the entire world? IDK, but I loved it, and the authors did a fantastic job immersing you into their little world.

Katie Price and Wil Greene have been friends since their senior year of high school. Wil picked Katie up on a hard day, and their friendship continued. Although they both felt a special connection with each other when they were friends, they didn’t explore it any further. After graduation, Katie became a famous actress, and Wil’s TikTok account, which was dedicated to kissing strangers, took off.

After ten years, Katie is home for the holidays, and when they reconnect, it’s like nothing has changed with them. Except it has explored their relationship how they want to, which has implications for both.

Katie is in the process of a slight shift in her career and is under the watch of one of the people she is expected to work for in the future. With the type of attention that Wil gets from her TikTok of kissing people she doesn’t know, it’s hard to say how it would affect Katie’s work life.

This book beautifully captures two close friends who have had feelings for each other since the first time they had a real conversation. Adulthood and the revelation of finding and exploring their past identity allows them to dip their toes in the water and see how it goes.

It was such a cute little listen, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you so much to Mae Marvel, NetGalley, and Macmillan Audio for the advanced listener copy!

Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous by Mae Marvel is a witty , lighthearted book that kept me engaged from the first page to the last page. The characters are fun and the author gives us enough detail to make the reader feel like you know them.

Wil and Katie were best friends in high school and rekindle their friendship years later. But...is this more than a friendship? What will they do with the new feelings they are experiencing now that they are back in touch after all these years?  Will they take their friendship to the next level, or will they continue to be just friends as they have been in the past?

Thank you to NetGalley for the audio ARC of this fun book.

Thank you NetGalley for the Arc

I loved the characters in this book and while it's not a super unique plot I did enjoy it was a much more woman-empowering book without trying too hard to get that message across. The characters felt real and I couldn't wait to see how their story. If you're looking for a fast, fun sapphire read I would highly recommend picking up this book.

Katie and Wil are so stinking adorable! These two navigated their relationship amazingly, especially after not being near each other for years. Don’t we all wish that we could pick up where we left off with an old friend, and an old friend you were in love with?

This hit the spots for me to want to automatically pick it up. The cover, it’s sapphic, second chances and a small town.
Two things I loved about this book the mother-daughter relationships and the cats. Two things in this book that give me the ick: the men and Twizzlers.

At times Wil and Katie’s relationship felt more like high schoolers than 30 year old women, maybe because they’re trying to rekindle what they lost but it didn’t hit right for me. There were times it felt like it was dragging and I started losing interest but would get sucked back in a bit later.

Mia Hutchinson-Shaw did a great job narrating this romance. She does amazing at showing emotions and popping in and out of different characters.

Thank you Netgalley and St Martin’s Griffin for the advanced copy of this audiobook.

Katie Price is known in every living room in America. A small-town Wisconsin girl who became an A-list star, she rarely makes it home, but this year is different... Little does she know it will lead her straight into the piercing blue-eyed gaze of Wil Greene.

A lot has happened in the decade since those cold Wisconsin nights when Wil and Katie drove around in Wil’s Bronco senior year. Since then, Wil's law career hasn’t taken off. Her father passed away. And what started as a personal challenge―kissing a new person twice a week, every week―has made her a growing sensation, but her life is still stuck in phase one. Through the years, the two have never left each other's thoughts and desires, but now suddenly, they are back in each others' lives. Their reconnection is instantaneous and the passion is palpable... but can it stand the test of time?

5⭐ (audio) I listen to tons of audiobooks, and as long as the narrator doesn't take me out of the story, I'm happy enough. Mia Hutchinson-Shaw was stellar with this story, though. Definitely enjoyed her narration! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5⭐ (story) This book was brilliant. Two strong women supporting each other, communicating, and working to be bad@sses. Both Wil and Katie feel like real people. It was fun to watch them realize their love for each other and to watch their romance develop. I really don't get the TikTok thing (I'm old, okay? LOL), but it was a cute setup. This book was lots of fun with a wonderful message. This goes in my re-read pile for sure! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you Netgalley and St Martin’s Griffin for the advanced copy of this audiobook. The cover was so fun it intrigued me to try this book. A second chance at love for Wil and Katie friends since high school but lost touch reunited back in hometown of Green Bay. Actually the moms were the favorite characters for me. There was so much random dialogue, cursing and sexual context that the book was “Just fine” for me overall.

I started this audio with great expectations, but decided about 50% through that it just wasn't for me. The beginning started off well enough, and once the premise of the story was built I was anxious to see where it went from there. Yet it just seemed to plateau off and didn't really go anywhere.

Old friends, one still in their home town, and the other in Hollywood. One known for her TikTok account, the other famous for cinema/tv. As they reunite during one holiday season when they are together again, they begin exploring their feelings for each other that initially started many years ago.

This was a DNF for me, but others may find it more interesting/entertaining.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this advanced audio in exchange for my honest review.

This review is for the ALC I received from #netgalley and #macmillianaudio. Thank you!

First of all Mia Hutchinson-Shaw is an incredible narrator. She brought this story to life in a way that these two characters felt so visceral and tangible. Her performance was so good and the production well done. I felt like Katie and Wil were more interesting and fully formed than if I had just read it myself.

I really loved this story. Katie and Wil were best friends once, and they loved each other in a way that you love someone at 18. Then Katie got famous, and moved away, and Wil created a tiktok account where she kisses a new person every video and is well known in her own way.

Over a decade passes and Katie comes home for the holidays and reconnects with Wil. The tension between them so incredible you just wanted to chant kiss kiss kiss to them.

This is one of those stories that wont be for everyone. We have a lot of talking. A lot of actual communicating. Feelings and reasonings for past decisions are rehashed and dissected and I get how some people are going to feel like it's moving slowly. But to that I say listen to the audio, because the emotions come across so beautifully and you wont feel like it's slow at all. But unfurling in the most lovely way.

These two never really stopped loving each other, but trying to decide if and how to change their lives for each other is never an easy road. And they know that once they do kiss, everything changes.

It's spicy and progressive and inclusive and I really really enjoyed it.

This book was such a breath of fresh air! It was great to see two MC’s communicate directly with each other in a healthy way. The two leads faced obstacles but worked through them together openly, avoiding the typical pinch points often found in contemporary romance.

Both of the MC’s were highly likable and interesting in their own rights. The author created powerful back stories for both women that really helped drive their motivations and added real development to both characters. Both Katie and Wil were intelligent, talented, and determined to find their own voices, while still remaining grounded with each other.

My only issue was that the book felt long in some places. Some of the scenes and conversations dragged on and could’ve benefited from a bit more editing. However, I would still definitely recommend this book to my patrons.
