Thank you NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for this audio ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This was another fun and entertaining scifi opera from this author. I had a good time seeing the characters from the previous book and seeing how they have changed since we last show them. I thought the plot was good but there were times my mind would wonder off sometimes which is why its getting a three star rating. I think the main reason for the lack of focus on the book was because of some of the long winded scenes.
Overall, it was fun and I will continue to check out this author's books.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

So I think overall this series is just not for me. I don't enjoy having spice in my books - I prefer fade to black scenes or if there is spice, for it to be minimal. That being said I know many will enjoy this series and it will likely bring more people into scifi - especially those who love romantasy, I think this style of scifi book will eventually become more popular though I know I just won't enjoy them as much - personally. I do think the story and world building was excellent and the author does a great job portraying the characters. I have a difficult time rating books like these as even though I did not enjoy it, it wasn't a bad book.

Cyn returns home in a mission to find her cousins kidnapper and killer with the help of the crew is the Calamity. There is only one down fall. Micah knows who she is from a previous job. Cyn has many jobs and they all require her to be someone else. But some how Micha knows who she is. And is on high alert. Thought everything they go though Cyn and Micah get close.
Amby, Cyns cousins turns out to be the kidnapper she is hinting. Hurt and broken Cyn is depend to now take down her killer cousins. But Amby has a trick up her sleeve. She turns in Micah to take the fall of someone else crime and he is sentence to death.
Even though Cyn denies it she loves Micha. And sacrifices herself to save him.

Cyn has a reputation as a tough bounty hunter that spaced a ship full of pirates but the real story isn’t quite as ruthless. She keeps to herself and has been looking for the man that kidnapped and killed her sister years ago. When she gets a job she cant’ refuse tracking down the notorious kidnapper she is eager to take it. But it puts her back in contact with a ship full of people that knew her under another name from a previous bounty she worked undercover. Back on her homeworld and with feelings growing stronger between her and one of the crew things get rougher dealing with her past and a second bounty job she can’t refuse, bring in one of the crew of the ship she is working with.
More shenanigans from the ruling families move parts of the plot but you don’t have to read the first book to get what is happening in this one. A fun romantic SF story.

For Fans of:
- Dune and Bridgerton even though those are super different.
Cynbelline is a mercenary. She has dedicated her entire life to chasing the serial killer who murdered her cousin. Shes's single minded and has given up any chance at a normal life in her pursuit of retribution. When she finally gets a hint at the killer's whereabouts, she is forced to reunite with the crew of the Calamity, and she finds that letting people get close to her may just be the best and worst thing ever.
This book includes:
- elusive mercenary/hitwoman
- misfit found family who crew a spaceship
- tense family dynamics
- Dune-esque intergalatic oligarchy
- brooding yet pure MMC
- revenge/decade long vendetta
- serial killer on the loose
Fiasco brings some of our favorite romantasy tropes and themes to space. It has a great cast of characters, each of them bringing their own baggage and intricate back stories. The pursuit of the serial killer was compelling and there were soooo many twists. The romance had me kicking my feet and giggling. All and all, I will be back for more.
I didn't realize this book was technically a sequel, however I think its more of an interconnected standalone sort of series. I never felt like I was out of my depth or was missing anything major from the world building. So if you want to start with Fiasco, I had a great exprience so I won't discourage you. That said, it was so good that I will be returning to read "Calamity" ASAP.
I received this audiobook as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, Constance Fay, and Macmillan Audio for the opportunity to review this book. This review is also available on my GoodReads - check out my profile https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/62314863

This was everything I wanted in a space drama. I could see the events as they unfolded and appreciated the twists that came along here and there. I've already recommended it and will be reading more by this author!

This is the second book in the series which could be read as a standalone. This book follows Cynbelline who is a bounty hunter on the hunt. I listened to the audiobook version which is something I rarely do but wanted to check it out for this book. I have to say that the narrator did a splendid job narrating this book because I was easily able to focus on the story. I loved the fast pacing of the book and the new conflicts that were in this story. I do have to say that I’m still confused on how this world works and wish there was more world building explanation. This book is told from Cyn’s pov.
Cyn is the FMC of this story and I really enjoyed her character. You don’t often see a woman bounty hunter and I loved how she had a fun side but also a badassery side to her. She developed throughout the book and fell in love with the last person she ever thought she would. There were many side characters in this book but the main was is the medic, Micah. He was a wonderful character who cared for cyn. The romance if forbidden love, forced proximity and slow burn which has some steamy scenes.
The ending was the best part of this book and I loved the way the book ended. It was so well written and the narrator did a fantastic job bringing this story. I recommend checking out this book but start with book 1 to get the full experience of the world.
*this arc was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*

This was awesome!!
I got the audiobook and the voice actor was perfection. Truly great casting or whatever it’s called when you hire a voice actor, but 10/10. The delivery fit the character so well, it was perfecttttt.
Ok now about the actual story. UGH these characters and their beautiful page-turning glorious messiness!! We stan a messy protagonist and geez was baby messy. And we love her for it.
And the whole crew of messy romantic interest and chip-crunching neighbors and kidnapped cousins (chefs kiss).
And the reluctant pet flying lizard!
Loved it.
I’d recommend.
10/10 sci fi with perfect splash of romance and a dash of spice.

This series is so fun! Like the first book, this one was just as fun and exciting an experience. It’s a light-hearted story that doesn’t take itself too seriously, with a humorous tone. I always end up relating and rooting for the characters. The banter and found-family aspects are so endearing. These books definitely deserve way more hype! I love that the romance is equally balanced with the plot and the world-building. The perfect escapist read, highly recommend!

A lively run through space bounty hunting and conspiracies, this sequel built off the first book really well. I liked having Cyn as the narrating voice and getting the story through her jaded but resilient world view. The action scenes were well written and I never lost track of who was doing what.

Cyn is a bounty hunter known for ruthlessness and a woman haunted by personal loss. Cyn is drawn into a new mission that intertwines her quest for justice with unexpected personal connections. She is hunting a kidnapper who killed her cousin and teams up with the crew of the Calamity. This mission is especially compelling because it offers Cyn a chance at personal vengeance and closure. While on the ship, she befriends the medic, Micah, who is also a bounty she doesn't want to bring in, but if she doesn't, her family will be in danger. She is determined to right her previous failures.
I enjoyed Cyn's character. She was relatable and had realistic dialogue. Her multiple identities provide a layered and complex protagonist. The relationship with Micah adds a romantic subplot that is touching and integral to Cyn's development. Cyn and Micah face challenges, and their bond deepens. Including an element, such as the metal-eating lizard, adds a unique, whimsical touch to the otherwise gritty narrative. The book combines action and humor, creating an engaging narrative. A few plot twists elevate the story to make it a thrilling read. If you are a fan of sci-fi with a touch of romance and fantasy, you will enjoy this story of redemption and new beginnings.
Thank you, Netgalley and MacMillan Audio, for the audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Fiasco is the second book in Constance Fay's Uncharted Hearts series. This book follows Cyn who was a part of the events in Calamity. She is a notorious bounty hunter. There is one case that has haunted her, a serial killer that kidnaps young people for ransom. Her cousin was one of the victims. She is given the opportunity to hunt down the killer but must reunite with the Calamity crew. I had a great time with this book. Cyn is strong and fun character. The relationship between Cyn and Michael was very entertaining and hot. I really enjoy the mix of sci fi adventure and romance in these books.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Publication date of book 2!! I did judge a book by its cover – I loved the art on it! I had a lot of fun listening to the audio version of Fiasco – the narrator (Paige Reisenfeld) did a great job. The story follows Cynbelline Khaw, the lone bounty hunter, on a new mission to recover Estella’s daughter. But Cyn is not alone on this mission; medic Micah rejoins the story and watches over her. I really enjoyed the storyline, the humour, the romance that developed, and following along with the crew from Calamity (book 1). The whole tale felt warm and homey, a fun to listen to sci-fi. The introduction of the pet lizard was a playful addition to Cyn’s life – a genetically engineered pet that eats metal, breathes fire, and puts bite marks into everything (it will be able to cause more ruckus when the wings come in).
Thanks to NetGalley and MacmillanAudio for the ARC audiobook for review. It was a lot of fun and a definite recommendation

I loved the first book in this series Calamity and am so happy to return to it in Fiasco!
Audiobook: Paige Reisenfeld did a wonderful job of bringing the characters and the story to life. The way she told the story had me feeling like I was right along with the crew of the Calamity on their mission! I would absolutely listen to other books narrated by her in the future.
Cyn is a bounty hunter and when she is hired to find a young girl who has been kidnapped by the same person who killed her cousin she is in no questions asked. She rendezvous with the crew of the Calamity who don't know they met her before when she was undercover, and together they are tracking down this insidious kidnapper before the same thing that happened to her cousin happens to this girl.
The crew of the Calamity feels like family and I am so happy to come back to this world and get to see some explosive chemistry between my favorite bounty hunter and favorite medic. We get plenty of action-packed moments, twists and turns that I did not see coming, and some beautifully emotional moments (along with smexy ones) between Cyn and Micah. So far both books in this series have provided a rollicking good time and I didn't want to put them down until I turned the last page. The banter was perfect, along with the dynamics between Cyn and Micah. He really sees her flaws and all, and I loved his nickname for her. It made me laugh every time he used it!
I hope we get many more adventures with the crew of the Calamity and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next!!

Fiasco follows bounty hunter Cyn Khaw, who also happens to be Generosity from Calamity, the first book in this series. I was so excited for her story, and it did not disappoint. I loved her character and learning that there's much more to this unsuspecting cultist. Cyn, who actually has a deadly reputation, takes on a bounty with the crew of the Calamity to search for a notorious kidnapper which added a bit of mystery to this sci fi thriller. There's also a bit of spice that picks up between Cyn and Micah, the medic on the Calamity, that we started to see in book 1. Everything was so well done here - from the mystery to the character growth to the romance.
I had a lot of fun reading Calamity, and I loved Fiasco even more. This is such a fun space opera with great characters and just the right level of sci fi. Fiasco is one of those fast-paced reads that are so much fun, I tend to devour them in a couple of days. I love the characters, the unique planets, and different space stations so much, this series has quickly become one of my favorite space operas.
I don't think reading Calamity is a requirement, as Fiasco works well as a standalone, but I would recommend it for more background information on The Families and the crew of the Calamity. Plus, it's just a good read.
4.5 stars, I am so excited for book 3.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for a copy of the audiobook ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Cyn (introduced in Calamity as Generosity) is back and gets roped into working with the scout crew of the Calamity, captained by Temper. The Escajeda Family nudge her to a job tracking down the Abyssal Abductor, a serial killer/kidnapper she's already been chasing for years. Before they arrive on-site for the job, another Family, Pierce, force her to take a job bringing in Micah, the crew's medic. Is Cyn going to be able to betray Micah to protect her family, especially if she's starting to fall for him?
This is more space adventure than romance, though there's plenty of sexual tension and increasing spice on the page (both Calamity and Fiasco end on a spicy chapter). Both have themes of family, but Fiasco focuses more on expectations from family, dealing with a family tragedy, and withholding secrets. I read this one faster than Calamity, in part because I enjoyed the narrator. I love a narrator that can do a cast of characters without feeling like they are stereotypes of voices.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for an ALC on NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Fiasco is a delightful blend of steamy interstellar romance and gripping sci-fi adventure. The plot kept me engaged throughout, with an unexpected twist that truly surprised me and added depth to the mystery. Cyn, is a multi-faceted protagonist whose journey from bounty hunter to partner in crime (and romance) with medic Micah Arora is thrilling.
Narrator Paige Reisenfeld does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. Her use of varied tones and inflections makes the listening experience immersive. She embodies Cyn perfectly, adding layers to her complex personality. The dynamic between Cyn and Micah, paired with the quirky crew of the Calamity and a flying lizard, creates an entertaining and unforgettable story.
Overall, Fiasco is a must-listen for fans of sci-fi romance, and offering a perfect mix of adventure.

This book was an absolute joy ride of a read. While it does take place as part of a connected universe, you absolutely do not need to have read book 1 to start this. In fact, I started with this book and am now very excited to go back and read the book that introduces Cyn!
I really enjoyed the pacing and balance of the series. The perfect will they won't they slow burn that left me hanging onto every word and every moment as if I could decipher something even deeper from it.
The world in the sci-fi is so fully formed I was able to picture myself in it. On the ships and planets with the crew searching for clues to save the kidnapped young rich kid before it was too late.
And let me tell you. I did NOT see that twist coming. I had some theories, absolutely, but I was so convinced it would be anyone else. I never even gave it more than a passing thought.
Also, team Micah forever. Those strong arms. Yum.
I would like to thank the Netgalley and Macmillan Audio teams for allowing me to listen to the advanced copy of the audiobook. All opinions stated are mine, freely given.

I had a lot of fun with the previous book in Fay’s sci-fi rom com series, Calamity, so I was excited for this one. I love having a story I get invested in aside from the romance aspects and I also had a lot of fun with this one. Much like Calamity, Fiasco is also mostly a sci-fi lite read. Don’t get me wrong, there are classic sci-fi components like space travel and shield suits etc. But all the components are easy to follow even if you aren’t familiar with the concepts. I also really enjoyed the plot with bounty hunting and hunting a serial kidnapper. The romance side was supportive and focused on building trust and healing and was sweet. Fiasco definitely had a bit of everything, adventure, mystery, family drama and love.
While I think Fiasco can be enjoyed as a standalone, I recommend reading Calamity as it has some world building along with some characters that return in Fiasco. I listened to most of the book on audio and enjoyed Paige Reisenfeld’s narration much as I did for the first book in the series. If you’re new to sci-fi and audiobooks, you might opt to read this as an eyeball read but I definitely recommend this series regardless.
