One thing I love is a good fantasy I love a book that can make me forget what's going on in the world and go into an imaginative world where the impossible happens and you meet characters and creatures you would never meet for real and this book had ot all

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Hunted by Wolves and Shadow is a Red Riding Hood retelling with dark twists and spice.
Emi sets off to visit her grandmother through the mist that engulfs the forest for as long as she can remember. But this time, it's thick and ominous and obscures the path to the cottage. When Emi gets chased by a huge beast and finally reaches the cottage, she meets a hot male called Wolf, but her grandmother is nowhere to be seen. When she discovers that her grandmother was a witch (and an evil one, too) and then learns Wolf killed her, Emi wants to kill him, and the pair find themselves shut up together in the same place out of the mists reach.
I was drawn to this book for the Enemies to Lovers trope, and it didn't disappoint. Emis journey is filled with self-discovery and enlightenment, and the growth of her character from the start to the end of the book was beautiful. It's definitely a book to read if you love retellings, shifter-romance, and enemies to lovers like myself.

This was my first Jo Holloway book, and I'm obsessed. I will definitely be going back and reading their backlist of books.

This Red Riding Hood retelling with a twist is by far one of my favorite retellings I have read to date. The story is similar enough to the original to tell which story its from yet unique enough to be new fun and exciting to read.

The world building & character development is beautiful descriptive and immersive. The tension and build up to the intimacy of the main characters was paced out perfectly for a beautiful climax.

This ARC read from NETGALLEY was a delight to read. This is an honest review posted voluntarily.

This was an interesting retelling of Red Hiding Hood. It was close enough to the original story to make me nostalgic. However, had enough different that it was a new story and twist. I think the author did a fabulous job bringing this all together.

This novel is an exciting, action-packed fantasy that seamlessly blends danger, magic, and heart. Holloway’s world-building is captivating, with vivid landscapes and a gripping sense of mystery surrounding the wolves and shadows that lurk within. The characters are complex and compelling, particularly the strong, resilient protagonist whose journey is both thrilling and emotional. Fans of dark fantasy with rich lore and fast-paced adventure will find this book impossible to put down for sure.

This was an interesting and fresh retelling of Red hiding Hood, where she falls for the wolf, even if their people are kind of mortal enemies.
I loved all the scenes of the main couple together, they had so much chemistry!! Their sarcastic conversation and flirting while fighting was the best part of the book for me. I wish we could have seen more Worldbuilding.

Run by Blake Crouch is an intense, fast-paced thriller that grabs your attention from the start, but it ultimately needs to catch up to its full potential.

The book opens with a gripping premise: a strange phenomenon triggers a violent, apocalyptic scenario, turning ordinary people into dangerous predators. The tension is palpable as the Hayes family races to survive, and Crouch's writing keeps the stakes high.
However, while the action is relentless and the pace rarely lets up, the plot becomes repetitive, and the characters need more depth to create a real emotional connection. The apocalyptic event's central mystery is intriguing but underdeveloped, which may leave some readers craving more explanation.

For those who relish high-octane thrillers, Run is a rollercoaster ride of adrenaline. It's a book that's more about the thrilling journey than a profound impact. If you're a fan of survival stories, this book is a must-read, but it's not likely to revolutionize the genre.

Jo Holloway’s Hunted by Wolves and Shadow is an action-packed paranormal romance that plunges readers into a world of supernatural danger and intense emotions. The story centers around a heroine who is thrown into a dangerous situation involving werewolves, where survival, loyalty, and love are put to the test. The protagonist’s journey is one of both physical and emotional endurance as she navigates the threats posed by both enemies and potential allies.

Holloway does a great job balancing steamy romance with high-stakes action, building a tension-filled plot that keeps readers engaged. The dynamics between the characters are complex, with the lead often torn between trust and fear as she uncovers the secrets of the world she’s been thrust into. The pack politics and supernatural lore are well-crafted, adding depth to the romance and action.

With its fast pace, thrilling action, and steamy romance, Hunted by Wolves is perfect for fans of paranormal romance who enjoy a blend of danger and passion. The novel sets up a larger series, leaving readers eager for more twists, character development, and deeper exploration of the supernatural world.

This is a really fun take on "Little Red Riding Hood". It was a cute, fun, not so serious read. The magic was fairly interesting, and Wolf was a pretty fun character. Over-all, a great read if you want something fun!

honestly I can't really say that this book blew me away. It lack something. The plot however was perfect as well as the pacing, everything seemed to move and progress just right, there were plenty of twists and turns, and i wasn't really bored, it was just missing the background detail that would have made this a knock out book for me. I mean that there were a lot of times i couldn't really imagine what characters and places looked like because there wasn't too much of a description, just a general overview.Overall, i did enjoy this book, i just know that it could have been even better.

I love when books are a retelling but this book just didn’t do it for me. I feel as though certain eliminates could’ve been added in and that this felt a little bit rushed. Overall the book was okay but I wasn’t really wowed by it.

I really tried to push through this one but I just couldn’t. I dnf at 33%. It sounded like it was going to be a fun and interesting read if not a lil spicy but so far I’m just kind of underwhelmed and confused. Them being stuck together in the cabin where her grandmother lived and there being I don’t know this sexual tension but not between them but they also hate each other because of what she’s meant to be but doesn’t know she is but he won’t explain it to her and then her hatred for him cause of her grandmother but she still desires him while wanting to kill him. It’s all very confusing and as much as I try to connect with the story I just can’t. I feel the characters are very 2 dimensional and the plot is just odd. There’s so many different concepts that are trying to be shoved into it that it’s just hard to keep the dots connected. Not to mention her sad little attempts at killing him instead of fleeing and taking her chances in the woods with the beasts out there I mean does she really think she’ll succeed in killing him ? I mean really ? I try my best not to dnf books that often but I’ve been struggling so bad with this one that I just can’t continue to push myself through it.

I love fairytale retellings and this has such a good premise. Red riding hood is a classic and has been retold multiple times in different ways but this felt fresh.

I love enemies to lovers and a morally grey MMC. Had all the elements I like in a romantasy. Really enjoyed it.

I love a good retelling! In this, a monster and a witch must find their own paths while working together. If they can just get over what's holding them back and allow themselves to accept what the other is offering, all of their problems can be solved.

Loveddddd this! Fairytale retellings are a must for me! The way they spinned this story to have more of a dark twisty vibe to it was a perk to me. I enjoyed watching the growth of the characters too

Firstly trying to find good retelling books that are more for a mature audience is slim and few that actually have more story then steam. This one is a perfect mix of steamy yet still able to give you the immersive story. I loved the twist on this one, who you think you know can be all a ruse. I think it added to a bit of difference and helping with the actual Grimm Brother influence more so. Emi is absolutely naïve at the beginning but when you are young and wholeheartedly trustworthy of someone who you think you know, your mind can be faltered and not really see what lies in front of you, but she becomes so much more than a scared woman. I love the dynamics between her and the wolf. Each character unique, and while the spice being spicing the scenes are not too detailed, and if you do not like them (Which I have no idea why you would not if you read these books) but you can skip over them but you miss some epic dialog. Worth a read and check out in your like retellings that are more mature!
