Pros: I am always looking for books about other cultures and religions to share with the children in my life. I also love when I learn something new from children's books, and the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe is something I did not know about. This is the first bilingual children's book I've read, and I would love to see more--especially as many of the children I know start taking Spanish classes in elementary school. (I also think books like this would be wonderful for high schoolers who are taking Spanish for the first time.) I thought the illustrations in this book were lovely, especially the visual representation of Our Lady.

Cons: None that I can think of!

Thank you to NetGalley and Loyola Press for the opportunity to read this book.

This is a lovely picture book in English and Spanish that teaches children the story of the Virgin of Guadalupe and the traditions practiced to celebrate the feast day. It includes lovely illustrations to accompany the story and is especially poignant at the part where the miracle occurs.

Αn beautifully illustrated story of our Lady performing a miracle, perfectly appropriate and understandable for a young audience while also capable of grasping the attention and interest of adults!

The beautiful, soft coloured pallet that was used for the illustrations combines so beautifully with the storytelling, I was simply in awe reading this. Absolutely recommend for any parent looking to get their little one closer to faith or for adults like me interested in our lady's story.

This is a lovely bilingual book introducing the history and meaning behind Las Mañanitas. Those who are interested in the history of Christianity in Mexico will appreciate it as well as families who celebrate the holiday.

The illustrations are colorful and attractive. A lovely book.

Las Mañanitas has one of the most beautiful art styles I've ever seen in a children's book. It's stunning, colorful, the character designs are adorable, I love everything. The art gives the story a cozy vibe, it makes us want to keep reading it.

As for the story: I enjoyed it very much. I didn't know the story of Juan Diego, so it was nice to know about it. What I also like is that Las Mañanitas is a bilingual book, so you can read it both in english and in spanish.

Las Mañanitas is a good book to talk about faith and family with the kids, and I really recommend it.

I loved this book! I didn't know much about Our Lady of Guadalupe and it was interesting reading about these traditions. I also really love bilingual books, and this one was fun and easy to read. The pictures were also really nice. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.
