This is the third book in the Hocus Pocus Hotel series by Michael Dahl. I didn't read the first two books in the series, but didn't have any difficulty following the story, so that wasn't a problem Ty and Charlie aren't exactly friends, but they do work together when needed to solve mysteries at the Abracadabra Hotel, "known to its residents as the Hocus Pocus Hotel, but officially named for its founder, Abracadabra." When Ty shows up at Charlie's school to tell him that Brack (as Abracadabra is known to his friends) is missing, Charlie rushes over to help. Ty and Charlie, with the help of their friends Annie and Cozette, are on the case.

I have to first note how much I loved the illustrations! I think they would help to keep a younger reader's attention, as well as the short chapters. The characters were quirky and likeable and the magic tricks were fun. The book was well written and the pacing was done well. I think this would be a good book for later elementary and middle grade readers, and I would definitely recommend it to them.

5/5 stars.

*** I would like to thank NetGalley, Capstone Young Readers, and Michael Dahl for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Another fun magic-filled mystery! I like the addition of Annie and Cozette to magic/mystery solving team of Ty and Charlie. Again, the artwork is an nice touch to the story for the young readers.
