Writing a review a few weeks after finishing a book shouldn't be this difficult. I can't really recall much about this, other than when she went all Super Evil Biotch Mode and I had to put the book down for a week or so to calm down enough to read the rest of it. That's a me thing, I get very into what I read and if something happens that is stressful in the book, then it's going to go right to me and make me anxious and stressed out. That's a plus, as it means the book sucked me in enough to cause me to have such a strong reaction, BUT if I put something down for too long, then I tend to forget all but the most powerful memory from said book and that brings me to this point, where I can't give a decent review to save my life.

I still like the characters and still want to see them have their HEA, but I think I need to re-read this one before I read the next volume, just as a refresher.

3, it's me and not the book for this one and I want to continue with the series, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and VIZ Media LLC for an eARC of this book to read and review.

Karumi continues to deal with the aftermath of her stalker while Eiji tries to lend her his support. Karumi worries that she's reading too much into his actions and struggles to deal with his romantic history.

It's been interesting to see another side of Kurumi as the struggles to cope with her feelings - even the jealousy that makes her feel ugly inside. Eiji is also struggling with their relationship as he navigates his first close relationship with a girl. The final volume is coming, so I look forward to seeing where they end up.

I enjoyed this title as a fan of Kimi ni Todoke. I got to read Volume 1 through NetGalley as well. I would definitely recommend this title to patrons at my library who like shoujo or josei manga. I like that it is from Kurumi's point of view and Sawako is a side character. It's nice to see a different perspective.

4.5/5

Volume two of Kimi no Todoke: Soulmate continued Kurumi’s and Eiji’s love story.

Ahhh I’m so glad that this series will be three volumes. Kurumi is such a compelling and relatable character. As always, I love characters that don’t think they’re perfect nor do they act perfect. So refreshing to have these anti-heroine stories but the only person she’s really fighting against is herself.

I liked reading about the author’s decisions into making this small volume. I can’t believe that it might not have been Eiji but a random character as the MMC. This pair is perfect and I can see no other solution to their stories.

I really liked the back and forth between the two main characters. As well as seeing them secretly pine for each other with Sawako as the in between. Very cute.
Can’t wait to see how the story pans out in the next and final volume.

I'm not sure if I would read this if it weren't an ARC or borrowed from the library. I really want to see some sort of redemption for Kurumi but man, it's not easy. Eiji seemed interesting at first but every time we're reminded of Kazehaya and Ryu, he just seems sketchy. If whatever little scrap of Sawako and the old gang (outside of Kurumi) is worth it, then perhaps it's worth hanging in there for any eventual character growth for Kurumi.

This continues to be a really sweet continuation! A lot of this series will come down to whether or not you liked Kurumi in the original series. As someone who appreciated her growth from antagonist to friend, it's nice to see her examine her own personality and wants, relationship or otherwise, beyond high school. She still sees herself as a villain, even though she is clearly moving past that part of herself. This is good growth and I'm glad she gets to have it. It's nice to be back in this world.

Cute add-in and progression to Kurumis story. Can't help but feel like this series is for those that loved Kimi, and the author even introduces characters from another one of their earlier mangas. I really love Kurumi as a main character, she's not immediately likable at all (particularly in Kimi), but its beautiful to see a character develop in such a way.

Disclaimer: I received a digital ARC of this from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I was a fan of "Kimi ni Todoke" when it first came out and I really enjoyed the first volume of this spinoff. This second volume is also delightful!

Sawako’s cousin Eiji is now protecting Kurumi from the guy who was stalking her in the last volume. Their relationship slowly moves forward, despite Kurumi frequently "pumping the brakes." She's like a feral cat that Eiji has brought home and is trying to befriend.

I love getting to see Kurumi's progress with being more open with others and allowing them into her life. Eiji seems like a wonderful match for her and I'm eagerly awaiting the next volume to see where things take us, the readers!
