Sol Le Coeur is a night dweller, a person who lives during the night hours and those known as Rays, people who work during the day hours.
I’m not going to lie, I was a little bit confused with this one. It was hard to get into and hard to keep my attention. The plot for me was nonexistent. I ended up skimming through the last bit of the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR) for this review copy.
I was really excited to read this book, and not just because of the absolutely *gorgeous* cover. ;) The entire premise of the story was fantastical enough to capture my attention, yet believable enough that I could see this happening in the world today. I liked Sol so much; I wanted her to succeed, to give the people she loved all that she could, and at the same time my heart ached for her. The ending was a little abrupt for me, but also hopeful, which at that point was definitely needed. All in all, a great weekend read!
I won't be able to leave a review for this book; I requested it in a past lifetime of my NetGalley use (almost ten years ago) and it no longer fits with my reading interests. If I ever do end up reading it I'll come back and update this!
Could not connect with this one at all. Bland characters and a tediously lackluster plot. I tried many times but nothing ever happened to grab me and it showed no signs of improving.
