This book was so sweet! I loved the art style. The world of these characters felt so big, so I'm glad we got to see Pip explore it! This was a very simple and gentle story that I think most kids would enjoy.

What a charming read with whimsical illustrations and fanciful intrigue! Ashling Lindsay effortlessly builds anticipation and wonder as she leads the reader on a delightful adventure across a stream to an unknown side of the valley. With her protagonist, Pip, questioning where a mysterious leaf came from, Lindsay shows that stepping out of our comfort zone can actually be the most comforting thing of all especially when we make authentic connections with new friends.

My children and I really enjoyed this little take of Pip and Pod! I thought that the illustrations were adorable and whimsical and that the story line was simple and cute. The only complaint that I have is that I wish that it had been a little longer and we had seen more of these two friends.

Pip's Adventure is a beautifully illustrated story about breaking out of your comfort zone.

This would be well-paired with similar works, like Creature of Habit. I may turn it into a unit!

I am excited to add it to my library.

Thank you to Net Galley and Quarto Publishing Group- Francis Lincoln Children's Books for the eARC!

I am OBSESSED with this story! One of my favourite children's books I've read this year, easily. The illustrations were beautiful and colourful and my daughter loved them. The tone, theme, and message of the story was so beautiful, I loved it right away. It sends a great message to children about making friends, and exploring outside your comfort zone. As an introvert, this book spoke volumes to me- even as a 29 year old mother! Added this book to my cart immediately after reading it! Highly recommend.

What a beautiful and sweet little tale!

The illustration is magical, the story is gentle but also encourages bravery, and it feels representative of neurodivergence. Overcoming anxiety of the unknown and finding a friend to co-exist with.

Exquisite artwork, and a really sweet, simple yet easy to follow story. I could see this one being a very popular one for young kids, as well as a great read-aloud.

I also loved the unique font here - it gave it a sweet and quaint feel that really made it lovely.

I received an ARC of “Pip’s Adventure” from NetGalley, Quito Publishing Group, and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books in exchange for an honest review.

Written and illustrated by Ashling Lindsay, this picture book focuses on helping children to get out of their comfort zones. Many children, including my own, are a little hesitant to try new things. When my son was little, it was trying new foods. For others, it’s going new places or meeting new people. This book helps to guide young children through the process of accepting, and looking forward to, experiencing change in their lives. This is a cute book and perfect for those especially hesitant children who need to learn to embrace new experiences in their lives.

Beautiful illustrations. A cute story about Pip, who likes his side of the world. He enjoys the known and repetition in his life. Until, one day, a mysterious shimmering plant appears. He tries to ignore it but he sees more and more.

His curiosity leads him to explore and take an adventure into the unknown. He meets a new friend, Pod, and realizes the world isn't so strange after all. There are others like him.

Pip spends every day alone going through his routine, until one day an unrecognizable leaf blows across his path. A cute story of adventure and friendship.

This was a sweet read. Pip lives a solitary life and is happy with his day to day routine. When something appears that is new to him he is hesitant to question why. Putting on a brave face he decides to go outside his comfort zone and explore. 𝗣𝗜𝗣’𝗦 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 is a story that will encourage young readers to be strong and courageous. A definite must add to any classroom or school library.

Such a sweet story about loneliness and friendship. The illustrations reminded a little bit of The Little Prince, which gave me some nostalgia for that story.

The illustrations are perfection! Absolutely adorable. The writing could be improved. I thought it would have been really cute if they had built a bridge across the valley at the end.

An adorable short story with beautiful illustrations!

Pip lives alone on his side of the valley. He knows it well and likes what he knows. He likes the predictability of his life. Until he must venture to other side of the valley and discovers someone else living there.

Read this with my 3 year old, and we were both captured by the story. It was beautifully written, and the words flowed easily. There was just the right amount of repetition that is nice in children's books. And the story provided a nice lesson, that sometimes we need to leave our comfort zones to find something beautiful, make connections, and discover something new about ourselves. There is comfort in our routines and home, but there is also comfort in finding people who help us feel at home. It was a very calming story to read and one I think that would be enjoyed by both children and their parents.

A fun colorful book about finding someone in a lonely world. Quote from my six year old daughter “everyone needs. A friend even a hobbit”. Hobbit- gnome.
