I read this book to my 5 year old and 3 year old grandchildren and they both loved it. The pages were colorful, clear, not confusing and the story held their interest. I also thought that for the intended audience it was a good little story.

Cute, set to the "Twelve Days of Christmas" but depicting different animals seen in the woods in summer. Look for the chipmunk observing all the other animals on every page ;-)

This book is great! I'm not a native English speaker, but with this book, I can introduce animals that are not common and can be found in tropical lands, to my child!

"Twelve Days of Summer" is a children's book adapted to the melody of "Twelve Days of Christmas." Sherri Maret's version features summer animals engaging in daily activities, replacing the familiar Christmas figures. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and strongly recommend it for young children and parents eager to sing along with their kids—perhaps even getting the catchy tune stuck in their heads for the day, as happened to me. The illustrations are delightful, and the font selection is ideal—bold and clear for young readers. I will use this book for my nieces, nephews, and elementary school students where it can help in learn the animals and numbers.

I like the way this is planned. Such books deserves to be in school curriculum as it helps Kindergarten children to learn the count. It tells via 12 days of summer visit to wildlife about the no. of animals with set of bunch or pair or more, even single to make young readers learn the count and know how tot do that with the wisdom of not to count animals wrongly.
Best part is author is summarizing the counts as well at once in the last to let children learn on what they have just counted and which animals.

I really like this book for the purpose it was made. Though for the count learning children, the types of animals would be tough. It should be as per their knowledge of animal they knew or can learn with an ease.
Illustrations on the other hand is also good and colorful.

This clever countdown of animals one might see on a summer camping trip would make for a fun read-aloud (or even a sing-along), but there were two things that annoyed me about the book. I really didn't care for the illustrations with the dark outlines, and the fact that all featured animals appear to be in their natural habitats except for the raccoons who are seen raiding a dumpster. Couldn't they have been shown in the woods, perhaps stealing food from a campsite, instead of the more urban setting? I know - it's just a small thing, but it would have been more in harmony with the rest of the book.

That said, I think this is just one of those books that kids will enjoy WAY more than I did.

Cute! All of the illustrations were very well-done, yet still simple, and accurate to the story. The colors were bright, perfectly matching the tone of the book, and the animals were adorable. As for the story, I thought that it was a fun summer book for super young readers. It was smart to make a summer parody of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" for kids, and I have no doubt that kids will have a fun time reading this book, any time of the year. Bravo!

This was a super cute and easy read that children will enjoy over and over again. I found the illustrations to be bright and engaging and a perfect way to get young readers actively participating in the story. A definite must have in any personal or classroom library.

A fun twist on the classic “Twelve Days of Christmas” with a summer twist. Children get to follow along with the animals as they enjoy the summer day with sun, flowers and nature. The illustrations are so bold and colorful as little ones get to see animals in nature doing what they do best. We can even sing along with the story as we add new animals with each new page. It is a perfect way to introduce animals and counting to little ones. Our favorites were the 8 basking turtles and the 4 shy bobcats. Enjoy this with your animal loving little ones and discover more.
We received this as an ebook ARC and were so excited, now we can’t wait to add it to our home library.

What a lovely book!

I found myself humming as I read along and admired the beautiful illustrations! I enjoyed the theme, the animals along with their perfect descriptions, and beautifully done illustrations.
I can see this book being enjoyed by many littles for a bedtime story or even just an afternoon quiet moment.

The Twelve Days of Christmas gets a summer update with Twelve Days of Summer. The book lists different animals that were seen following the 12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 procedure. Great book to practice counting through the illustrations.

The "Twelve Days of Summer" by Sherri Maret is such a fun summer edition of the song "Twelve Days of Christmas". My 9 year old daughter read this to me and enjoyed it! The illustrations were perfect and featured an assortment of different animals and scenes.

A cute take on the 12 Days of Christmas. This book is illustrated with North American wildlife that children would be familiar with. The illustrations are coupled together without words, which would allow for children to name them before they are revealed on the verse pages following.

An excellent interactive read aloud/shared reading experience for children - young readers to transitional readers would enjoy this. Curriculum connections could also be made for students learning about their natural surroundings, ecosystems, habitats, food chain, etc.

This was a lovely take on the ‘12 days of Christmas’ song. The illustrations are beautiful. I know my 4 and 6 year old will be really impressed with this book. A great addition to their library.

Absolutely adorable. This grandma knows a couple 4 year olds and a 2 year old who are going to love this. Illustrations are awesome too.
