I love the messages of Mr. Rogers. Such a kind man that spread so much joy in the world! That said, this book left me wanting more. The daily quotes are short and sweet, but there is nothing more than a quote on the page for each day. I would have loved to see something more - something about how he embraced that principle in his every day life, or how by living that value he did something fantastic - a story or something to go along with the quote of the day.
Also, my biggest pet peeve is religious books that are simply categorized as self-help. In my opinion this book should be categorized as "religious, inspirational, and spiritual" as the daily quotes mention God multiple times.
Thank you to Hachette books and NetGalley for the ARC!
This heartwarming collection encapsulates the gentle guidance and profound insights of the beloved television icon, Mr. Rogers, through a series of daily reflections.
Each page offers a glimpse into his wisdom, highlighting the importance of kindness, compassion, and life's simple joys. Timeless and deeply resonant, his messages provide comfort and inspiration in our everyday lives.
This book is an excellent way to incorporate more mindfulness and positivity into our daily routine.
I love Mr Rogers. I was introduced to him as an adult since we didn't have "Mr Rogers Neighborhood" in Sweden, but now I love everything about him. He was a genuinely awesome person. This book was a great read and left me feeling good. :)
Fred Rogers will forever be one of my favorite people. This book is great if you want a little bit of daily motivation and/or words or wisdom. I also found it easy to sit down and read several dates in one sitting. This is a great book to read yourself, to give as a gift, and/or to go through with your kids.
So very, very wholesome and uplifting. It really is as heart warming as the television show used to be, reminiscent of childhood.
We could all learn so much from this little book of wisdom. Mr Roger's served as an example of kindness and acceptance in a crazy world, always leaving us in a much better place. THIS BEAUTIFUL DAY is a wonderful book to be read and shared, gifted and given to all.
I loved reading through the quotes in this book! There are over 300 quotes filled with wise and sage advice on many subjects. One of my favorite quotes was “ Feeling good about ourselves is essential in our being able to love others.” The introduction was written by LeVar Burton and is a beautiful tribute to Fred Rogers. This would be a great book to add to your bookshelf!
Thank you NetGalley and Hachette Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
When I was in college years ago, a small group of us went to see a taping of one of Fred Rogers’ shows, and so when I saw that there was a book by him, I knew I wanted to read it.
In 400 pages, which sounds like a lot, most of his wisdom is shared in brief moments, but even just reading it, I could hear his voice as I read his words. Some are brief, where others are more profound, and it brought back so many memories of that day, and how genuinely himself he was.
A sweet collection of his thoughts, of moments he shared, and a glimpse into how and why he was beloved by so many.

Many thanks for the ARC provided by Hachette Books / Hachette Go
It’s daily wisdom from Mr. Rogers! There’s not much more that needs to be said. My generation watched him and Sesame Street daily and maybe a book like this could inspire us to again work to see the best in others.
Thanks to Hachette Books and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
Wonderful book for anyone who grew up watching Mr. Rogers. This book is full of quotes to inspire, fill you with compassion, and bring you joy.
Who doesn't love Fred Rogers? This lovely book is perfect for gifting and features 365 daily quotes from Fred Rogers. His wisdom is timeless and good for all ages. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy!
This Beautiful Day: Daily Wisdom from Mister Rogers by Fred Rogers is a very highly recommended collection of daily inspirational quotes in the Day by Day Series. The introduction written by LeVar Burton is an tribute to the beloved television host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, author, producer, and Presbyterian minister.
The numbered 365 daily reflections include affirming daily quotes from Mr. Rogers, personal stories, songs he wrote, and inspirational quotes he likes from others. The quotes are mostly short quick selections that provide kind, nurturing advice and insight into living each day with meaning and intention.
An example of the day 61 quote: "You are a very special person. There is only one like you in the whole world. there's never been anyone exactly like you before, and there never will be again. Only you. And people can like you exactly as you are." An affirmation that everyone needs to reflect on from time to time.
Although you could read through all the daily missives at one time, this is better appreciated when used as a source of daily supportive messages, some of which may inspire further reflection. This would be a lovely gift! Thanks to Hachette Books for providing me with an advance reader's copy via . My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.
The review will be published on Edelweiss, Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
So many pearls of wisdom. We sure need Mr Rogers in our challenging world today! So many simple yet deep truths in this list of 365 quotes. If only all the adults in the world would take his advice to heart. A very inspiring, comforting read.
Mister Roger’s was my childhood, and this book didn’t disappoint. There is so much wisdom and nastolgia in this book. A must read for every millennial.
Who doesn't give Fred Rogers 5-stars? His wisdom and simple way of being a good person resonates with more than just a generation who grew up watching him on the screen. This book with daily tidbits provide thought to begin the day. I found each wisdom to allow my mind to wander, thinking how to be better. Beginning the day with this book really could have the power to stay positive, kind, and create sunshine for someones not so sunny day. Loved this book, it would make a great gift, keepsake.
Go buy this gem for sure!
Thank you NetGalley and Hachette books for the advanced reader copy.
I somehow didn’t realize before this that Mr Rogers was an ordained minister. It definitely tracks though. This book has a pretty heavy religious theme which might be alienating to a good chunk of people who might have otherwise sought out this collection of daily readings.
There were times when some days felt like almost exact replicas of previous days. Of course, almost no one will be reading this all the way through in a few days for the purpose of reviewing but I still felt kind of shortchanged. Mr Rogers had over 40 years of work to pull from.
In discovering the repetition, I began to wish that this was broken up into themes or sections somehow. There were certainly plenty of themes to pull from: solitude, child development, creativity, kindness, parent child relationship, friendship, setting/reaching goals, anecdotes about others, anecdotes about himself, love, inner beauty, disappointments, communication, songs
I love love love this man. There has never been a time where the world has needed Mr. Rogers more. RIP friend.

How could anyone not enjoy a little wisdom from our favorite neighbor each day? This book is structured so that you have a page to read every day for a year from different texts, speeches, songs, and other media written and created by Fred Rogers. It's affirmative and heartful with the same feelings of compassion that Fred Rogers emulated in his lifetime. The introduction by LeVar Burton is a testament to Rodger's lasting impact on the world.
My only "negative" if you can even call it that, is that I would have liked a bit of context with each daily excerpt. It would have been nice to have the origins of the writings on each page so that you could either seek out the full form or understand the audience this was written for.
Regardless, this book is written for adults and is as relevant now as decades ago. It is a must-read to become the best neighbor you can be each day.

In this time of the phenomenal Inside Out movies on feelings, we can never forget the true pioneer of talking about them and that is Mr Rogers. His wisdom is timeless and we need to regularly revisit them. Ex: “We can’t be expected to leave the unhappy and angry parts of ourselves at the door before coming in. We all need to feel that we can bring the whole of ourselves to the people who care about us.” Or, “The real issue in life is not how many blessings we have, but what we do with our blessings. Some people have many blessings and hoard them. Some have few and give everything away”. This title needs to be on your gifts to give! Pair it with Mr Rogers notecards and the talking figurine and whoever you gift this to will have a “Beautiful Day”! I know I’m ordering a copy right now!
