Who doesn't give Fred Rogers 5-stars? His wisdom and simple way of being a good person resonates with more than just a generation who grew up watching him on the screen. This book with daily tidbits provide thought to begin the day. I found each wisdom to allow my mind to wander, thinking how to be better. Beginning the day with this book really could have the power to stay positive, kind, and create sunshine for someones not so sunny day. Loved this book, it would make a great gift, keepsake.
Go buy this gem for sure!
Thank you NetGalley and Hachette books for the advanced reader copy.

I somehow didn’t realize before this that Mr Rogers was an ordained minister. It definitely tracks though. This book has a pretty heavy religious theme which might be alienating to a good chunk of people who might have otherwise sought out this collection of daily readings.
There were times when some days felt like almost exact replicas of previous days. Of course, almost no one will be reading this all the way through in a few days for the purpose of reviewing but I still felt kind of shortchanged. Mr Rogers had over 40 years of work to pull from.
In discovering the repetition, I began to wish that this was broken up into themes or sections somehow. There were certainly plenty of themes to pull from: solitude, child development, creativity, kindness, parent child relationship, friendship, setting/reaching goals, anecdotes about others, anecdotes about himself, love, inner beauty, disappointments, communication, songs

I love love love this man. There has never been a time where the world has needed Mr. Rogers more. RIP friend.

How could anyone not enjoy a little wisdom from our favorite neighbor each day? This book is structured so that you have a page to read every day for a year from different texts, speeches, songs, and other media written and created by Fred Rogers. It's affirmative and heartful with the same feelings of compassion that Fred Rogers emulated in his lifetime. The introduction by LeVar Burton is a testament to Rodger's lasting impact on the world.
My only "negative" if you can even call it that, is that I would have liked a bit of context with each daily excerpt. It would have been nice to have the origins of the writings on each page so that you could either seek out the full form or understand the audience this was written for.
Regardless, this book is written for adults and is as relevant now as decades ago. It is a must-read to become the best neighbor you can be each day.

In this time of the phenomenal Inside Out movies on feelings, we can never forget the true pioneer of talking about them and that is Mr Rogers. His wisdom is timeless and we need to regularly revisit them. Ex: “We can’t be expected to leave the unhappy and angry parts of ourselves at the door before coming in. We all need to feel that we can bring the whole of ourselves to the people who care about us.” Or, “The real issue in life is not how many blessings we have, but what we do with our blessings. Some people have many blessings and hoard them. Some have few and give everything away”. This title needs to be on your gifts to give! Pair it with Mr Rogers notecards and the talking figurine and whoever you gift this to will have a “Beautiful Day”! I know I’m ordering a copy right now!

This is a great book to remind us to be kind to ourselves and to one another. Mr. Rogers is a shining example of that and his words of wisdom ring true in this compilation. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is a beautiful and easily digestible book that would be easy to read again and again, each time discovering a new nugget of wisdom. Mr. Rogers was a force for good in this world and this book reflects that with heart-warming mini-philosophies to guide our lives.

As an educator, parent, and long-time fan of Fred Rogers' work, I greatly enjoyed reading this compilation of his quotes and songs. I appreciated the format of the book: 365 quotes/songs, one for each day. I think this would translate beautifully into a daily calendar. I found that some of the quotes could get a bit repetitive, but that was to be expected given the sheer volume of quotes pulled. Mostly, I was impressed by how far ahead of his time Fred Rogers was when it came to making children feel seen, heard, and cared about.
Thank you to NetGalley for my advanced copy.

For those of us that grew up watching Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, this book is such a wholesome, nostalgic read. It is formatted to read one quote or life lesson from Fred Rogers each day. It will surely be a ray of sunshine in your day and inspire you to be a more kind, loving, servant-hearted person just like our dear Mr. Rogers.

Amazing wisdom from one of the world’s most respected and beloved tv personalities. So nice to have a daily reminder of love and empathy including for yourself.

This is a delightful read. It's the kind of book you want to give to a graduate, child, friend - anyone really. It's a lovely reminder of the importance of goodness and love, building community, and being neighborly. The introduction by LeVar Burton is so kind. Thanks to NetGalley for an early copy - reading this was good for my soul.

It's exactly what it says it is on the cover; formatted to be read one numbered passage at a time (or you can do like I did and read it all in one go and cry), Mr Rogers's words of encouragement, acceptance, understanding, and love fill every single page. The introduction by LeVar Burton was truly heartwarming and it felt so apparent that Mr. Burton really cared about Mr. Rogers. I was hooked from page one and read it one sitting late at night when I was feeling down. Mr. Rodgers's advice was soothing and helped me feel better.
I think this would be a nice gift for a friend or family member that likes daily devotionals or a nice little coffee table book. I recommended it to several of my own relatives.

This is a wonderful inspiring and heartwarming tribute to a childhood legend! A collection of 365 daily reflections, with words of wisdom that only Mr. Rogers could give. Highly recommend! I thank Netgalley and Hachette Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

The book is lovely. These amazing quotes and wisdom are very helpful and inspirational. I loved watching Mister Roger’s Neighborhood when I was little. Some of them reminded me of the show.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for giving me an opportunity to read this collection of wisdom and quotes and do a review.

I absolutely adored Mr Rogers. I watched his show on tv when I was a child, and now as adult I realize how truly wise and kind his seemingly simple words were. I loved reading through so many of his quotes and would be so encouraged seeing one each day!

Rogers bring me into day to day reflection of my whole year with a deep and understanding and many many wisdom inside it. I hope that I can live my moment every day with a freshness anticipate the upcoming stages of my life.

This is a great book full of classic quotes by Mister Rogers. Put into a one a day style book this is great for fans of his who would love his daily advice and insights.

Loved this book of daily reflections and wise words from Mr. Rogers -- I could see myself picking this up in the mornings to read the short passages and set an intention for the day. Also loved the foreword by LeVar Burton, another formative figure in my childhood learning! This would be great to give gift for someone needing some positivity and guidance along with a hint of nostalgia.
My only real critique is that I wish there were more variety in the illustrations; the shoes, sweater, and trolley did get a little repetitive--it seems like there would be so many more things from the Mr. Rogers world that could be illustrated (and spark nostalgia).

This is a bit of nostalgia of Mister Rogers. I enjoyed reading these. It would be a gift new years gift for someone looking for inspiration.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

This Beautiful Day
Do you crave your daily visit with Mr. Rogers from your childhood? This book gives you a few minutes each day with Mr. Rogers. Each day there is a very short quote that you can reflect on and apply to your day. I liked that there are no dates on each entry so that you can start your journey on any day of the year. I also like that each entry is on its on page which gives you an uncluttered view of the day’s thoughts which allows for focus on that thought alone. Get your copy December 3, 2024!
