This Beautiful Day
Do you crave your daily visit with Mr. Rogers from your childhood? This book gives you a few minutes each day with Mr. Rogers. Each day there is a very short quote that you can reflect on and apply to your day. I liked that there are no dates on each entry so that you can start your journey on any day of the year. I also like that each entry is on its on page which gives you an uncluttered view of the day’s thoughts which allows for focus on that thought alone. Get your copy December 3, 2024!

Thank you, Net Galley, Fred Rogers and Hachette Books, for the opportunity to preview this gem. The opinions shared are my own.

This little book contains 365 quotes by Mr. Rogers. They tend to be about one short paragraph, though there are occasional song lyrics and stories. They are gentle and affirming with a lot of talk about acknowledging your feelings and protecting children. He was a minister and there is a bit of religion, but mostly it’s just a few lines per day about giving yourself grace, doing good, and being honest with yourself. Most of it is not particularly profound but it is positive and encouraging.

I do wish there was context to the quotes, as it never says where any are from like interviews or books he wrote. Most seem spoken to adults, not the type of things he told his audience of children. I think I would have preferred more of those. Also, he is listed as the author but clearly someone else compiled this and someone else is profiting. I really wanted transparency and information there.

It’s a sweet book that would certainly be nice to open up each day.

I read an advance copy of this book for review.

All of the nostalgia feels! This was a fun, easy read which was refreshing in comparison to my current other reads. How could you not love this!? This book is a great choice if youre looking for a little vaca away from the fantasy/romance/horror books. Very cute!

Loved a good rainy day yesterday☔️☕️🎀 life lately has been BUSY with end of the year things for the kids, but it makes my heart happy to receive advance copies of books. Reviewing a book is so fun! Especially ones I wouldn’t pick out myself. So many books, so little time.

Rogers words are so gentle in reminding us to move from situation to situation with wonder. I loved the quote “You don’t have to be anything more than you are right now.” Such a beautifully spoken book. Highly recommend. @fredrogersproductions @hachettebooks

When Doing It All Is Undoing You by Alyssa Joy Beckhe (publishing date September 16) This. Book. Everyone. Needs. Wow!!! I feel like life is crazy, and you think it’ll settle and it doesn’t. Everyone seems wiped and worn out. Trying to do all the things, be all the things, and be happy?! What would happen if we stopped spinning our wheels, and instead we aim and lean into what Gods creating in us and we are becoming from it. Phenomenal book! @alyssajoybethke @worthypub

A Flower Garden For Pollinators by Rachel de Thame (publishing date June 10) I took a chance this year and planted some bee friendly flowers. I could never give Mister Rogers anything less than 5 stars. He was such an example to many of us growing up, and his quotes espousing love, kindness and compassion live on. Here you will find a quote or a song for every day of the year.

Mister Rogers was a special man, and I’m glad to see that his work continues to be shared with newer generations. This book is inspiring, just like the man himself.

Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Go for an eARC. All opinions are mine, and I have written this review voluntarily.
