I knew of the rivalry between Kate Chase and Mary Todd Lincoln, but this book brought more insight and a wealth of information about the Civil War. As usual, Chiaverini writes a well-researched historical fiction. Seems like I first met Kate Chase in _The Dressmaker's Daughter_"

Jennifer is a master of detail when it comes to Historical Fiction and this book is another feather in her cap! Truly delightful and I didn't want it to end!
