New apartment with a very, very hot roommate. Ghosts are real, and are very attracted to Osuke. What could possibly go wrong?

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me a copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
In My Noisy Roommate by Kaho Osaka, Osuke loses his home and moves into what seems like the perfect apartment. The only catch is that he has to share the space with the mysterious, mildly scary, and very hot Nijio. The story follows our two MLs, Osuke and Nijio as they go around chasing supernatural beings and figure out their bizarre living situation and how to cohabit.
This was such a fun read and I enjoyed every bit of it! The concept is unique, creative, and well-executed. The story stood out to me because it incorporates a lot of urban legends accompanied with background info at the back of the book, which I appreciated as a novice to Japanese lore. I also loved the side stories of some of the ghost friends we met in the story. Will admit, a few creeped me out, but I’m a certified wimp /.\
Our characters Osuke and Nijio work super well together and I just love the opposites-attract archetype. Osuke is cute and has a big heart, while Nijio is grumpy on the surface, but is actually the sweetest person who isn’t afraid of a little skinship (queue the giggles and kicking feet here EEP!) Although there’s not much romance in this first portion of the series, there’s definitely the build-up! The stones are set in place and I’m eager to see what’s in store for them in the next volume!

My Noisy Roommate: The Roof Over My Head Comes With Monsters and a Hottie perfectly blends comedy, fantasy, and romance. It’s such a heartwarming (and funny) experience witnessing our two ML’s warm up to each other. I highly recommend it to those looking for a light-hearted escape˗ˋˏ ♡ᩚ ˎˊ˗

My Noisy Roommate: The Roof Over My Head Comes With Monsters and a Hottie, Volume 1 by Kaho Ozaki is a Boy's Love manga that blends romance with the supernatural. The story revolves around Osuke, who has lost his home and needs a place to stay. He finds a new place, but there is a catch - an attractive blond guy named Nijio is already living there. Osuke and Nijio are about to become roommates whether they like it or not. But there's one more surprise - ghosts are real and Nijio is the Japanese equivalent of a ghostbuster!

Overall, My Noisy Roommate, Vol. 1 is a great Boy's Love manga that will appeal to fans of Supernatural or Fruits Basket. One highlight of this book is the art. The artwork is great and up to par with the best of romance mangas. Another highlight of this book is how the development of the relationship between the two main characters. The pair start off as strangers and perhaps even enemies but eventually become friends and perhaps more than friends. One final highlight is the plot. I couldn't stop reading this book! If you're intrigued by the synopsis, or if you're a fan of manga in general, I highly recommend that you check out this book, which is available in bookstores now!

I was pleasantly surprised by this new series.
It has super natural monsters, a potentially homeless mc and like the title suggest, a hottie.
The “ hottie” in question works for an agency that helps relocate these supernatural beings to a new residence. Unfortunately because of his strength he has a hard time completing some jobs because the spirits tend to stay away from him. Here is where out MC comes in, because he’s down on his luck, kicked out of his apartment, and eventually looses his job he’s a the perfect candidate for interacting with the spirits. The first volume of this series made me curious about where these characters journeys might end up. I can’t wait for the second volume of this series.

I was looking for a fun book to read in my spare time and this was perfect for it. It's fairly lighthearted and the concept is fun and easily expanded upon if the author plans a longer series. I liked the character designs and the personalities attached to them. Their interactions are charming, and the antics the jobs entail push the two mcs closer together and forge trust through the experience. I will be recommending this to my manga-loving friends!

I went into this manga blindly after seeing the title. It didn't disappoint. It balances comedy, lighthearted moments, and more emotionally charged moments very well. There's an underlying tension between Osuku and Nijio, but it's definitely a slow burn!
I would describe this story as a Japanese Ghost buster agency meets Yaoi.

I liked the art style, and the characters are loveable. As the story progresses, I'm hoping that Osuku will grow more confident in himself and that we get some deeper emotional development between Osuku and Nijo.

Fist, let me thank Netgalley, the Author and the Publisher for this ARC.

😱😱😱😍😍😍
I ravished it!
The art is amazing!
The plot is fascinating! (they work with ghosts/spirits) And the Zashiki-Warashi is super super cute!!!
The romance itself is quite light so far, but the set up is there, and it feels 🔥🔥🔥 and there are possessive/protective vibes. Which is also 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The story is very fluent and captivating and keeps you wondering and leaves you craving for more.
Now I need more!

I went into this book blind and I'm so glad I did! the story was interesting and the slow burn between the two leads is delectable. the supernatural elements of this book were well-written and kept my interest peaked throughout the manga. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

I enjoyed this silly and sweet supernatural romance BL! The supernatural plot complements the otherwise trope-y beats (forced proximity, relying on the love interest for financial security, ie.). I also liked how we got to learn about the love interest character alongside the MC as the story developed.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for giving me this eArc to review.

I didn't expect much going into this book but honestly it blew me away a little bit. The art is lovely, the characters are great to read and I'm looking forward to more of them and I like that so far each case has had different types of ghosts/creatures.

The two main characters have a great tension between them as the story progresses and I'm so excited to read more of them in future volumes and I'm looking forward to the cliffhanger being explored in volume 2! I feel like this would be a great anime as well.

Just like the title says the main character shares an apartment with another person and gets roped into their bussiness, a.k.a taking care of yokai. They help each other and we learn more about the yokai that they face against, therefore becoming friends.

The art is also very pretty and adapts well when showing scenes that lean towards more horror like the yokai ones.

Overall a nice start of a romance sotry with a thriller aspect thanks to the yokai

Oh my gawd I could not have loved this book more. I devoured it! The art is amazing! The plot is fascinating! I was just so in love with every part of this book. The romance itself is quite light so far, but the set up is there. There is hand holding (with a work twist - you'll get it once you read it of course!) and protective vibes. I am sooooo in love. So so in love. I need more!

4/5 Stars. I shouldn’t be surprised given the cover of this manga, but the story leaned more goofy than spooky. I enjoyed the story nevertheless! There are hints of romance, but I would’ve appreciated a little more, it is a BL book after all. I really liked the whole concept of a ghost real estate/relocation agency, very clever and unique! The art was really good too! Osuke was really lovable and I have suspicions Nijio will open up more. The ending was very promising of some great things to come. I look forward to reading more in the future. Thank you Kodansha Comics, Kaho Ozaki, and NetGalley for providing an eARC for review!

(ARC)

This book was genuinely a breath of fresh air. It is a very cute and funny slice-of-life read and although it is paranormal it is very light. I'm genuinely interested to see where this story goes and see all the adventures that these two get up to.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐( 4/5)

A charming and fun powerful manga with insights of potential sentiment between the main characters. A real estate agency offers ghost evacuation services for clients whose homes are plagued by ghosts. The main characters work together to drive out the ghosts. They move into these homes to drive out the ghosts or soul, and offered new homes to the ghosts

This was fun to readband made me laugh at some point. I loved how some of the ghost were hilarious. Also there's a hint of romance between the main characters. , I enjoyed reading this manga and look forward to future volumes.

Osuke was just about to move to his first apartment when it flooded and he was left without a home.

About to be on the street, a real estate agent conveniently offers him a room. The only condition is that he has to live with a roommate.

But there is something weird about his room. He has trouble sleeping, gets nightmares and the room gets freezing.

On the edge of his rope, he finally learns the truth, the agency that got him the room cheap specialized with ghost removals and he is the perfect conduit for ghosts.

He and his roommate work together to remove ghosts from the real states, moving from one place to another and getting into all kinds of adventures.

A paranormal manga, with ghosts and the start of a romance. It's only the first volume, and it's already so good! Can't wait to see what happens next!

There are some books that you fall in love with immediately and this was the one for me. Once I finished it, I immediately pre-ordered it and have read it more than ten times. I’m not sure I can put into words what exactly has made me love this manga so much.

This is a BL (boy’s love) story where the romance is a slow burn and currently not the main focus. Our main character, Osuke, has freshly graduated from high school but finds himself kicked out from his newly rented living quarters. He chanced upon a real estate agent who tricks him into working alongside Nijio to help relocate ghosts and other supernatural beings.

Each chapter has a sort of preface before dialing it back and telling the story. It’s not always focused on relocating the supernatural, and although they are all individual stories they are better read in sequence. Except for the first and bonus chapter, dealing with the supernatural is told mainly from Nijio’s perspective. It’s not unpleasant but Osuke, once possessed, seems to feel their emotions and it would have been nice if it was somehow incorporated into the story. There are a lot of unexplained questions within the first volume itself, but I’m guessing those will be answered later on in the series.

The romance isn’t explicitly shown. Honestly, one could argue it’s not even there right now. But this is a real slow burn and you can see the feelings growing over time. This story shows our characters getting closer naturally while performing their job and doing the little things. Both characters are two halves of a whole; the supernatural avoid Nijio but love Osuke and together they balance out when holding hands. I feel like this will be a “he fell first, but he fell harder” type story given both our characters personalities. The manga gives us a lot of unintentional moments between the two main characters, which I enjoyed.

With manga I find it’s hard to understand characters in the first volume itself and this applies to this series as well. Currently the story seems to be keeping it light hearted by showcasing the line of work and potential dangers, while creating an understanding or bond between Osuke and Nijio. There are hints to their pasts, with Nijio having somewhat of a tough and abusive upbringing, and Osuke having a very protective upbringing. I’m guessing in the future volumes their pasts will collide with their current work and we’ll get to learn more about them.

I find the artwork pretty and the character designs embody their personalities. The chibis, especially Osuke’s, are really adorable. Sometimes the artwork feels inconsistent such as Nijio’s earrings, but I have read this manga multiple times so I’m not sure if anyone will notice it in the first or second read. The panels are balanced between descriptive backgrounds and plain or iconographic ones to express different emotions throughout. Also, this manga focuses mainly on facial expressions so there aren’t many full body panels although I enjoyed the characters’ unique fashion.

Overall, I enjoyed this manga enough to wish I could read the second volume immediately and have an anime adaptation to watch. It’s my guilty pleasure or comfort read, if you will. I kept returning to read it over and over again. I loved it and I hope you’ll give it a chance too.

Hilarious! Though I don't read a lot of BLs (this was shounen-ai at most) I picked it up due to the description alone, and it was highly entertaining. While I understand the Ghostbusters comparison this feels slightly more slice-of-life. Reminded me a bit of something like Get Backers but with an urban fantasy-esque overlap of the spiritual and human realms. The official synopsis explains the setup and you'd expect this to be a cohabitation/roommates situation, but instead it's more episodic, with each episode following the two MCs and their coworker as they evict the next spirit either forcibly or by convincing them peacefully. The spirits themselves are adorable, my favorite so far being the group of Kappas.

Lovely art and character designs, and the artwork helped the comedy shine through.

Can't wait to read vol 2!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a chance to review this.
