Chloe is a kindergarten teacher. They are adding another class, and when Chloe meets the teacher, she gets a bad impression. There was a lot of push and pull between them. Maybe a little too much? Overall, I really enjoyed this book.

Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for an audio ARC of this book for an honest review.

A pro athlete retires and takes a last minute teaching job as a kindergarten teacher. The other kindergarten teacher was born and raised in that town, has been the "teacher of the year" for two years in a row. Their personalities are very different and they simultaneously can't stand each other, and are attracted to each other. Which will win our?

5 Star Review of Wanting You (The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge #3) by Samantha Chase

Audio/eBook:
This is Chloe Donovan and ex skier Tanner Westyn’s story and it was a good addition to the series.

Chloe is a kindergarten teacher and when she meets her fellow teacher Tanner, the sparks fly and not necessarily how you expect.

To her Tanner is an ex professional athlete with a monstrous ego. Could there be more to him than meets the eye? I enjoyed the push and pull dynamic as their relationship moved from enemies to lovers. Although Chloe irritated me on a number of occasions.

Carly Robbins narrates Wanting You and did a good job. However, I would love it a man narrated the male characters. She brought the angst, romance, drama and passion to the characters and did justice to the story that Ms. Chase wove.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this audio.

What a great sweet book! I enjoyed this story so much. The love story is great and I felt like it flowed very well. I loved the teachers love story along with the secondary characters. I loved the backdrop of the school and the skiing town. Such a cute story and it was very well written.

When the icky jerk turns into one of the sweetest book bf's! >>>

Carly Robins was an amazing narrator (per usual).

Wanting You is my favorite in the The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series. I thought the development of their relationship was realistic and I really enjoyed their healthy conversations. There were some moments where i was like AH JUST TALK ALREADY but when they did, they communicated very well!

The tropes of this one are:
-enemies to lovers
-small town romance
-workplace romance
-quiet shy FMC
-cocky former pro skier MMC
-family drama

Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Samantha Chase for the ALC of this title!

co-workers, teachers, enemies to lovers in a competitive nature, small town, can be read like a standalone, definitely an adorable fade to black romance! The male main character was everything he needed to be for this FMC

This was my first Samantha Chase novel and I could tell that this was not her first novel by far. The story was intriguing and has so much potential but I felt the characters were so immature that I had no emotional attachment to them. The lack of slow burn was cringey and honestly had me confused (especially with an enemies-to-lovers plot) and they jumped into being into each other so quickly. It is extremely well written and the narrator was great; I just could not get into the characters. I didn’t read book one and two of this series but I’m not sure I’ll go back and do it after these characters. I did also love the closeness of this big family and how often they all hung out but there were so many of them that I lost track of who was annoyed with who and why. At some point, the FMC’s family calls her a whiney cry baby and while I was appalled that they’d be so harsh, they weren’t wrong. The MMC was so stubbornly competitive that he seemed like an airhead for prioritizing that relentlessly no matter who it hurt. Good story, mediocre characters.

I love a good small town romance with a big family but I don’t think I’ll invest any time into this one.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the arc!

This was the first book I have listened to by Samantha Chase and I'm in love!! I absolutely loved Carly Robins narrating this story. She kept me entertained from beginning until the end. This is the story of Chloe and Tanner. Chloe is insecure and anxious but when she teaches she has a heart of gold. So there are times she got a little annoying because she let things get to her instead of just seeing the other persons point of view. Tanner is an ex skier so he's always wanting to be an over achiever. So at times these two will butt heads but watching them come together is a beautiful. This book was sweet, fun, will make you laugh, swoon and just make you want to fall in love with the characters. I can't wait to read more books by Samantha Chase. I would HIGHLY recommend this audiobook.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to listen to this ARC for my honest opinion.

This is the third audiobook that I have had the opportunity to listen to by Samantha Chase via NetGalley. I was so excited to listen to this story and continue the Donovans series in Sweetbriar Ridge. This book was a fast listen, and I was glad I had a chance to listen to Chloe's story. I thought that her story would have been with the hot shot city lawyer, but was pleasantly surprised that it was her co-worker, Tanner. I typically like workplace romance / rivals to lovers, but I did not feel the chemistry in this story. I also did not really like Chloe's attitude. She was controlling and whiney, in my opinion. I wished there were more relationship building in her and Tanners story, to make their relationship more believable. #WantingYou #NetGalley.

This is book 4 in the Sweetbriar Ridge series (even though it says this is book 3 its really #4) and I do recommend reading them in order so you can meet the whole family and know what's being carried over book to book. I loved the story but I had issues with both main characters especially Tanner his mind set and how he acted from the get go rubbed me the wrong way and when he started being nice and it seemed fake it took me a LONG time in a short book to come around to him. Chloe freaked out about everything and thought everyone was out to get her. So when I put in my ratings for different things because I didn't like either of them it brought it down from a 4 star to a 3.5

We have the same narrator in all the books and again she is top notch really enjoy her!

On to the next one which I will be requesting as soon as its up on NetGalley!!

Thank you so much NetGalley for this audio-arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

I haven't read/listened to the previous books in this series, but after listening to Wanting You, I'm definitely keen to backtrack and read the others!
Sometimes when there's a single narrator, I can find it off putting when they narrate dialogue for characters of the opposite gender, but Carly Robbins did a fantastic job, and I feel like she captured both Chloe and Tanner's characters really well.
In terms of the plot, I feel like it was pretty standard for a small town romance. I will say there were parts of the book where I found the FMC overreacted in certain situations to the point where I got a bit of an ick.
Overall this was an easy and enjoyable listen, but it wasn't anything I hadn't seen before.

I really enjoyed this sweet, and entertaining, enemies to lovers romance. I loved the push/pull between Chloe and Tanner and their chemistry was palpable. Chloe is so comfortable in her smalltown life that any change is hard for her. When Tanner comes to town, he upends her whole world. Tanner is excited to start his new life as a school teacher, after a successful ski career. He is very competitive and used to doing things his own way. So after a few missteps he quickly finds his footing. But Chloe is not so easily won over. When they finally get to know each other, they can't help but fall for each other. But when Chloe becomes overwhelmed by family issues, and life changes, will Tanner be able to help her grow stronger and more resilient, or will their new love not be strong enough to endure? I really loved Chloe and Tanner together and watching them help each other grow and challenge each other. I also love the Donovan's and how they love to meddle as they love and support each other.
I love that Carly Robins continues to narrate this series. She does a terrific job capturing each characters personality, and I love the emotion, and passion she brings to her performance. She had me completely invested in these characters and their story. I really enjoyed listening to this sweet, witty, and steamy romance!

This is a sweet light addition to the Sweetbriar Ridge series. Chloe loves her job as a teacher. It is what makes her heart sing. She is excited for the start of a new school year and to working with the new/fellow kindergarten teacher. She is the quintessential small town adorable teacher that everyone loves. The first meeting with the new teacher, Tanner Westyn is exactly the opposite of positive. He’s a pompous egomaniac who is intent on taking down Chloe and her teacher of the year status. It’s an easy listen with some lots of push and pull until they find their inevitable happily ever after.

Self sabotaging people pleaser who is also a teacher?! Nah… couldn’t be. lol. This was cute. The two main characters realized a lot about themselves in this book and one fought a little harder than the other to overcome it, but the other one figured it out before it was too late. Still trying to picture a Kindergarten class covered in ski gear, seems like an odd choice, but all in all this was a fun read.

Wanting You is book 3 in The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series and it's Chloe's and Tanner's story. This small town romance follows the budding relationship between these two kindergarten teachers.

They got off to a rocky start at their first meeting as Tanner's attitude left much to be desired. However, he soon saw the error of his ways, and I enjoyed seeing their relationship blossom both professionally and personally as the story progressed. I will admit, to me, Chloe's came across as very immature at certain points in the story, and the third act breakup was extremely childish due to her insecurities.

We are given a great cast of secondary characters. I loved the family dynamics and even the snippets with the kindergarten kids. I would recommend this if you are looking for a fast-paced, small town romance.

🎧 I listened to the audiobook version of this novel, which was narrated by Carly Robins. She did a wonderful job giving each character their own voice and infusing the right amount of emotions. Her voice was clear and understandable, and it was a pleasure listening to her narrate this novel.

Now that Tanner’s career in skiing has come to an end it is time for him to begin the next phase as teacher. Even though the position in Sweetbriar Ridge wasn’t exactly what he was looking for it had the opportunity to become the one he wanted. He was used to being the best as everything, so he plans to bring those skills to the school however he doesn’t make the best first impression on Chloe, the other kindergarten teacher.

When it comes to her students Chloe only wants to give them everything they need, and she loves her job. She enjoys her hometown, thrives on the status quo and is close to her family. Tanner’s appearance in her school and her life has her experiencing new things which is not only exciting but scary as well.

Chloe was content with her life, but everything was uncertain when it came to her family, her career and Tanner as he shows her that sometimes change can be the best thing to happen. Even though it is single narrator she does a wonderful job with both characters and has you experiencing the same emotions that the characters do.

"Wanting You" by Samantha Chase is all about Chloe Donovan getting her moment in the spotlight, and it's such a cute ride. This one's set in Sweet Briar Ridge, where Chloe, who's always been the rock-steady kindergarten teacher, ends up butting heads with Tanner, this hot new teacher who used to be a pro skier. Can you believe it? He's totally stepping into her territory, and the sparks? They fly!

It’s got a bit of that enemies-to-lovers vibe because, of course, they start off on the wrong foot—classic workplace romance drama. They kind of clash over how to run things in the classroom, which is super relatable. But, girl, as they start to get each other, it gets so sweet. There’s a bit of predictability with some of the family drama and romance clichés, but it’s all in good fun. Definitely a pick-me-up kind of book with lots of family feels and a good dash of romance. Perfect for curling up after a long day!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for my advanced listener copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Samantha has done it again! Chloe and Tanner are adorable and their growth and tribulations throughout Wanting You make them both realize what it is they want in life, together. The business adventure they go on was so much fun and I definitely giggled more than once.

Thank you, Dreamscape Media

Wanting You is Chloe's book.
Chloe is a kindergarten teacher and has been named Teacher of the Year for the past two years. Tanner is a retired skier and is wanting to become a 5th grade teacher, but the only opening he can get is for a kindergarten class. I thought this would be a cute enemies to lovers teacher story, but it was... not that.
I really liked Chloe's character in the previous books, so it's no surprise that I liked her less in her own book. In the previous books, she is the calm and collected to Ash's chaos. But in this book, she came across as whiny and immature more often than not, especially when something didn't go her way. She continuously got upset with Tanner because he was doing things his own way instead of her way in the classroom. It made her seem childish. And then the 3rd act breakup was definitely childish. She couldn't even act like an adult during the talk. She played the victim instead of owning up to the fact she made the choices she did and ended up hurting herself. And she didn't listen to Tanner when he was doing everything he could to make sure she wouldn't feel like that again. It was her way or no way. I'm glad Ash was able to talk some sense in to her.
Tanner was a decent guy. His first few POV chapters were rough as he came across as egotistical and rude. But he became a better guy once he toned down on the lone wolf and competitive mindset. By the end I liked him well enough.
While I enjoy the close knit family aspect, I do feel like we got more family scenes than couple scenes in this book, which hindered the romance portions for me.

3.5/5 stars rounded up.
