Fiona searches for the meaning of Christmas in A Very Fiona Christmas. Beautiful illustrations bring vibrancy to the reader with sleds, trees, ornaments, snow, stockings, lights and reindeer. Readers will delight in Fiona's giving heart when she meets a new friend at the zoo. Charming
Thanks to Zonderkidz, Richard Cowdrey and NetGalley for this ARC.
Fiona books are some of my kids favorite! We love reading all the holiday stories and my child likes revisiting them which is a huge win.
My son just LOVES Fiona! We enjoyed this cute Christmas story. Fiona learns that a big part of Christmas is being giving and showing love. The illustrations are just beautiful. I’m sure we will be purchasing a copy!
I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. I was not asked to leave a positive review. My opinions are my own.
A festive addition to any library board book collection, but an especially welcome addition for fans of Fiona! A constant favorite with young patrons and their care givers, the adventures of Fiona the Hippo have now expanded to include the winter holiday season. Although the focus is on Christmas, with shimmering lights, Santa's sled, and treat filled stockings, children who do not celebrate that holiday will still be able to engage with the delightful art and appreciate that the fun of the winter season comes from spending time with friends and sharing new experiences with others. Sure to be a favorite year round, this little book will fly off the shelf. Thank you to NetGalley for access to this fantastic little arc.
A Very Fiona Christmas follows Fiona as she experiences Christmas at the zoo. The illustrations are colorful and magical. The story is short but sweet. This is such a good addition to your Christmas book collection.
I received an ARC from Zonderkidz via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Super sweet short Christmas story that all little ones who love animal will enjoy. This story helps kids understand how new friendships are made as little Fiona meets new animals at the zoo. I loved the illustrations and the lovely little story that will put you and your child in the Christmas spirit.
The ear wiggles!!!! I can’t take how cute this was! Once again the illustrations are so detailed and immersive to the story. Another Fiona favorite to add to my collection upon release. Thanks NetGalley and Zonderkidz.
We love Fiona in our house! This Fiona story is no different. The way that Fiona learns the meaning of Christmas is such a sweet moment with her friends!
Another cute story of Fiona the Hippo at the zoo. Fiona hears that it's Christmas time and the other animals help her learn what that means. She also meets another new animal at the zoo, Chloe the Koala. I think some of the pages may have been missing here, but the story was cute and the illustrations are gorgeous!

I like that Fiona learns about giving after her friends teach her about several Christmas activities. She knows what to do when she meets a new friend and does something kind to cheer her up. I think this is a great message to give children.
I think the illustrations are adorable, especially the expressions on Fiona’s face!
💕Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing this ebook for me to read and review.
I was initially drawn into this book based on the art on the front cover and by the story of Fiona. My class followed the story of Fiona and we love her. Knowing that there is a connection to her made this book even better! The art for this book is amazing! I really enjoyed the story itself and the journey they go on throughout the book to understand Christmas. This could be an interesting and engaging lesson with my students to do in December to connect our understanding of what the holiday means to us and to those around us. Clearly, the lesson could center around the differences and the similarities between our experiences and expectations. Beautiful story and beautiful art!
Another sweet story, this one about Fiona learning and understanding the true meaning of Christmas. I read this with my 5 year old and she loved it, the illustrations were as always beautiful. This is a sweet holiday story for the whole family to enjoy, I would definitely recommend.
This was a heart warming Christmas tale. Reading how Fiona finds out the meaning of Christmas and what's it all about is joyous. The pictures that went along with the story were as always awesome. I cannot think of a child or parent that wouldn't love to read this at Christmas.
This is such a cute story of friendship and the meaning of sharing love with others. Our family has followed Fiona on social media and so this is a cute addition to our seasonal books!
How can anyone not love the Fiona books. This one is super short. Perfect for younger readers. As always, the artwork is stunning. My kiddo asked me to read it a couple times to them.
Thank you so much to Zanderkidz and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book.
I would like to thank NetGalley for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of this book, in exchange for my honest opinion.
The illustrations are nice and vibrant. The illustrations and the theme of the story lack cohesiveness. The overall theme is lacking in flow and is distracting. I would not purchase this book. (Note, my download only had 5 pages total.)
My son and I loved this book. We live in Dayton Ohio, so we frequent the Cincinnati Zoo, always with a stop to see Bibi, Tucker, Fiona & Fritz. It could have just been the download but I felt like the story was missing a few pages in the middle. Overall, it was a good read for a bedtime story.
Fiona, my favorite hippo, will help a lot of children to know the importance of friendship and maintain it. This is a perfect book for the little ones to be generous to other friends.
A Very Fiona Christmas by Richard Cowdrey. A Very Fiona Christmas is a great story about Fiona. Children love her stories. They will love this story about Fiona’s generous gift to her friend.
I love these Fiona books and if they were published by a non Christian publisher, this book would get 5 stars. But the whole point of this book is for Fiona to find out the meaning of Christmas and Jesus is NEVER mentioned. Big miss.
