Wanted to love this one but just couldn't get into it. Cliched and cheesy I just didn't enjoy. Disappointing.
This story had very sex and the city vibes, except all of the characters were married/in serious relationships. Overall, I did enjoy reading this but it did take me awhile to get into it. I had trouble keeping the characters straight at first since you are moving back and forth between each POV. I'd say about 60% of the way through was when I really figured this out and I was hooked at finding out where Abby was. The story was slightly predictable but there were some decent twists at the end.
I have tried a few times to get into this book but it’s not for me. If I’ve not finished a book or I have not enjoyed it I will not review on a public site.
Light and fun. A perfect beach read that doesn't make too many demands.
I like the challenge of reading new authors and, even more so, when the book is a stand alone (you know, too many series and trilogies out there).
The book brings the story of 5 longtime girlfriends who always met in the summer, in a bungalow, for a weekend of drinking, gossip and fun. No family and no responsibility.
Abby, Clare, Jane, Rachel and Tina.
But one of them doesn't appear. Abby.
In her place, a message: she ran away with the man of one of them.
Everything could be a prank, until each of them check on their husbands and none of them were available to be found.
Truths hidden beneath the rug about their lives begin to emerge.
Analyzes are done. Even a corpse appears in story!
I believe the author's goal was to bring a light and fun plot, but sometimes the subject becomes hard.
But it's worth reading the book and finding out for yourself: Was it a prank or a test?

Due to downloading difficulties, I was not able to read this book.
Not nearly as funny as I assumed this would be. I was looking for a light and airy beach read, and while this came highly recommended to be that - it just fell short for me. It was boring and contrived, and I the concept just didn't keep me interested. I thought that it would be cool, especially considering it was raved as SATC and PLL crossover inspired - but I didn't really feel like it filled either of those shoes.
