I have a hard time with non-fiction books---I"m such a lover of story. The author did put a fair amount of stories within this book, which I always enjoy. She also had a lot of good ideas. Ideas about how to be confident, how to overcome fears and other things that hold you back. There was actually a lot. I think a book like this is better done as a sturdy where you can dig deep and talk with others. Just reading it myself I would have preferred a shortened version highlighting the main points so I could focus on the main points instead of reading so much. There felt like a lot of repetitiveness, which is something I usually struggle with when reading non-fiction books. I could have seen myself getting more out of this when I was younger, before kids also.

Ashley Henriott brings a refreshing, authentic voice to Confidence Is an Inside Job, sharing her own journey while encouraging readers to step into who God created them to be.

As a confidence coach, she doesn’t just talk the talk—she’s been through the struggles herself, and her methods come from real-life experience.

The book feels like a genuine pep talk from a friend who’s cheering you on and sharing tools for building inner confidence.

Ashley’s realness, both in her social media presence and throughout this book, makes her message that much more powerful.

A great read for anyone looking for a faith-based approach to self-confidence!

In a world craving approval, confidence coach Ashley Henriott reveals that true confidence comes from living as the person God created you to be. Through her personal story and biblical wisdom, she helps you overcome fear, comparison, and inaction, empowering you to step boldly into the life God designed for you—full of strength and purpose.

Immediately, Ashley has a distinct grit to her words, and you soon understand why—she’s been through e v e r y t h i n g. Seriously, everything. So, who better to absorb your resilience and tenacity from? She’s done the deep work of knowing and living in her true identity amidst a broken upbringing, and whether you think you’re a confident person or not, her story will move you to be more.

I loved this story for the memoir and liked it for the tips. She’s got substance, and an important one: identity (it’s literally why all fall I’m speaking on identity in my young adults ministry- we need to know who we are and why). Though I don’t think it paints a comprehensive view of where we should gain our confidence, I picked up just enough fortitude to shift how I think about contentment, and I’m sure you will too.

I listened to two chapters, and her tone was filled with an encouraging spirit. I primarily read the ebook but recommend both formats—whichever you prefer for a mix of memoir-based self-help books.

Perfect for you if you like:

As a Christian family with teen girls, I thought that this would be a great resource to have. We read this book together and it inspired many discussions that we might not have otherwise had. This needs to be on every family bookshelf.

This book is an awesome resource! It's a book written for women by a woman. Even as a male there are many aspects that are beneficial for men. We can be better advocates and cheerleaders to remind women they are built for great things. The raw and honest vulnerability is inspiring and we should all live more that way. Life can get messy and hard from decisions we make, as well as actions that were taken on us. This book allows women to stand up for themselves and acknowledge that they are not made to be people pleasers. The book enforces that confidence and walking in the truth are who you are made to be. It will give you powerful questions and tools along the way to empower you in your journey to being confident.

This book was so helpful in gaining my confidence back. It taught me how to be confident in myself as God's daughter and as who he created me to be. It doesn't matter what the world thinks of me as long as God is happy with me.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with their confidence. It is so helpful.

She looks better than me in that dress.

Why can't I ever do this right?

Are they talking about me? Am I even liked?

We ask ourselves these questions all the time in a search for meaning and recognition. In Confidence Is An Inside Job, Ashley Henriott helps readers overcome those feelings of less-than and find true confidence.

Overview

Genre: Self-Help

Publication Date: October 15th, 2024

Having confidence is more complicated than it sounds. From being compared to others to not having the things you think you should, your confidence takes all kinds of hits. But what if you didn't look for confidence in the things of this world?

What if Confidence Is An Inside Job, accomplished with God's help?

My Thoughts

I took so many notes while reading this book!

Henriott dives deep into what causes to not have confidence, starting from childhood. She breaks down how different life events, words, and even comparisons can cause us to lose confidence. She take this further by explaining that we will never find true confidence in anything of this world, but only in our Savior.

One of my favorite parts of this book are the tools and tips that she puts at the end of each chapter. Consisting of the foundation, (tips for becoming more confident), the tools to to helps you get there, and the build (verses and other insights as to how God works in your life), these are such an amazing part of the book.

Henriott gives actionable advice that can be implemented even if you don't have everything figured out. She talks about learning to fight for yourself and advocate for your peace of mind.

One of the most important points throughout the entire is God's love for us and how even in the times we fail, he is enough. He will always be enough.

Final Thoughts

I absolutely loved this book! I don't give out five stars easily, but I think this book is deserving of every single one.

Confidence In An Inside Job helped me realize so much about myself, things that I didn't even realize.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Confidence is an Inside Job by Ashley Henriott is such a beautifully written book reminding the reader to find their confidence in Jesus as the root of all things to fall in place. Our world right now is so bogged down with social media, that we forget that isn’t what is going to fill our cup. It’s actually depleting it. This book gives a chance for woman to remember our uniqueness and to not follow the trends. I adored these words and so enjoyed this read! Prayer Journal for Woman by Sincerely Shanene is one I’m adding to my list of gifts for other friends. I love the beautiful layout, the scriptures were incredible, and it was so sweetly laid out. I loved the honesty and realness of this book- reveling against the latest diets, having hormones, mean girls still, and wanting to rock out at a concert. Radiant Radiant Radiant by Tess Whitehurst laid the red carpet for entering “middle age” and what that means for beauty, health, fashion, mindset, and who you want to be. There is journals, advice, and activities in this one. I love a good self help book, and this is perfect for that “now what” phase of life. True radiance is realizing there is no one like you and to run with that! Publish date is June 3. @tess4444 @quarterpubb
