I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I did not know that this book was connected to the Madison Kate series, but it is not required to read that series first. I enjoyed being back in Shadow Grove and loved Hades because she is a total badass. I really enjoyed this book and was dying with that cliffhanger! I cannot wait to read the next book.
I am a HUGE fan of Tate James and the original Madison Kate series "Hate." I knew that when this was republished by bloom, I would be going back into her world. The author has an unnatural ability to write a bad-*** female main character, with just enough annoyance to make me love her. 23-year-old Hades is a vicious and feared gang leader who masterminded a massacre years ago that killed most of the other gangsters in the area. Lucas, just happens to be at the wrong place and the wrong time and falls victim to her hmm, urges?? The relationship development is a little fast paced and too insta love for me. But, all and all I absolutely loved this book. It's well-written, perfectly paced, intriguing, and full of mystery and sexual tension.
Oh, 7th Circle! You took me on a fantastic voyage! This first volume in the Hades trilogy depicts a tough and shamelessly wicked heroine named Hayden (aka Hades), who rules her empire with an iron grip. Her strength and intricacy drew me in from the first page. The plot delves into the gritty world of gang politics, and it's nice to witness a female protagonist who not only owns her authority but also accepts her sexuality openly.
The relationships in this novel are very intriguing. Hades has relationships with various men, and I enjoyed how each interaction is unique. Lucas, the younger love interest, offers a delightful variation to the plot, and the conflict with the older rival gang leader keeps things interesting. Although several plot lines became a little confused, I was nevertheless captivated by Hades' trip and the intense twists at the finale.
Overall, Tate James has provided an engaging beginning to this series, and I can't wait to see where Hades goes next!
A badass female protagonist.
Hades is a strong, no-bullshit woman and I was so down for this.
And the male characters were interesting and each one of them had a different vibe.
It's age gap, reverse harem, badass fmc.
Holy sh**}t on a cracker!! Female mob boss/gang leader!?! Hayden/Hades/Dare is a baddass with all the confidence and know how! I loved this book and how she not only takes control but is also caring and loving in taking care of her bratty teenage sister.
The only thing I didn’t like: that cliffhanger ending! Please bring us the next book soon so we can find out who exactly Lucas is, and what the heck happened to her ex!
Thank you NetGalley for this arc in return for my honest review.
Pub date: 20 August 2024
When I originally requested this book after reading the blur I thought it was going to be another Hades and Persephone retelling but that's not what it was!
Having said that, I thoroughly loved the book from start to finish. It was fast paced, gritty with so many twists and turns that I didn't expect and the ending made my jaw drop! Was not expecting that!!!
I loved Hades - she is amazing. Strong, determined, confident, loyal and takes no crap from anyone!!
I have purchased a physical copy of this book as well as the next one from a bookstore and can't wait to see what happens next. I know it will be just as amazing at this one
I absolutely loved this book. It’s dark, it’s twisted. It has smut, and all the emotional pull in between. This author has quickly become a favorite.
I loved this one! I honestly could not put it down once I started! This book was fast paced with a bad ass female lead and multiple beautiful male main characters. I loved Hades background Story with her ex finance and the suspense behind everything happening with other rivals. I'm super excited to continue with the series!!
Tate James why chose romance books are one of my favourite dark romances as well and they go by so quickly and I love them and how easy they are to read and I will always buy her books and read them. This series is the second one I’ve read and I loved the start in the 7th circle
honestly.. this was so much better than i thought it would be! i assumed it would be straight spice, but the story actually had me wanting more! must get the next book now.
YES. YES. YES.
This was amazing. I could not put it down. I stayed up way too late and devoured this.
Tate james is an all time favorite author of mine and this continues to show why.
I thought I’d be into a motorcycle romance but alas, I was not. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This just simply wasn't for me. I don't think it's bad, but I don't think I'm the audience for it. I'm super grateful for the opportunity to try this one out early and see if it could be something I enjoy. I'm sure it will be very popular among the dark romance readers!
Started off really well but half way through it felt like I was missing something. Looked into some reviews and found that I should have read the other series first. Strong FMC. Will have to get back to the series.
4 stars
Hades is such an amazing strong main female character, and she really made this book. I loved her being the boss: in charge and making sure everyone knew it. There are a lot of moving pieces in this story, you don't know who to trust, there was never a slow or dull section. This is a new adult dark romance, it is a four stars book for me and 4 on the spicy scale, it was really heart racing from all the action, conflicts and romance happening. It was not a full five stars for me because one of the main male characters I am not sure about and he is really all over the place and I am not sure what's going on with him but I am hopeful that he will grow on me as well as a couple scene that I had an issue with but I will be picking up I can’t wait to find out what happens next. This book is thrilling, with so much tension and high stakes and I really had a good time.
I received an ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.
Hades is the boss of the Tri-state Timberwolves, a gang thought to have been extinct however this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Hades was the mastermind behind the massacre that took out the Timberwolves five years ago. Well the Timberwolves of the old guard, including her own father. Under Hades’ rein she has multiple thriving businesses and most of all respect. The only thing missing is someone she can love. Will she find what she needs from a newly hired male dancer, Lucus? Or will she find solace in someone that has been right in front of her since the beginning?
Overall rating 3/5
I felt many times throughout this book as if I missed a prequel or if this was truly book 1 in the series. The FMC would reference things from the past as if the reader should know what happened without much context. However, I did like that Hades was a strong female character who stood her own ground and did not succumb to the will of any man in her life.
*Thank you to Tate James, SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books | Bloom Books and Netgalley for the ARC copy. I am freely leaving my honest review.
OHMYGOD THIS WAS SO GOOD AND NOW I NEED TO READ THE ENTIRE SERIES.
This is my first book by Tate James and I think she’s going to become a favourite. The twists, turns and cliffhangers at the end of chapters that force you to keep reading? I ate that shit UP. I love a good why choose romance toooooo, the more book boyfriends the merrier!
This has made me want to read the Madison Kate series and then finish this one, better get started I guess?
I loved the Madison Kate series. Unfortunately this one this one fell a bit flat for me. Tate James is an awesome author, I think it was me this time. I was looking for something fresh, new. This one didn’t draw me in like that.
This story was not what I am used to reading but I was curious as I have always heard great things about the author. This was my first why choose romance and surprisingly I enjoyed the book.
