A beautifully illustrated edition of my favorite story! It would be a great book to share with a young reader to introduce them to Anne of Green Gables! Delightful!

I knew after reading the first chapter of an advanced ebook copy of this book that I wanted--no, NEEDED--it on my shelves! I've been looking for a good abridged version of Anne of Green Gables to share with my daughters for years, and this one was a perfect read aloud for me and my seven-year-old daughter! The beautiful, whimsical illustrations perfectly capture the spirit of Anne, as does the prose. As a longtime fan of Anne, I was delighted to see that the prose matched the voice of the original book, while making the story accessible for younger readers with short attention spans (like my spirited daughter). While we usually read together at bedtime, she came to me more than once during the day and asked if we could read more. Of course I gladly said yes!

From one kindred spirit to another, I highly recommend preordering this book. You won't regret having a copy to grace your shelves!

I am a huge Anne of Green Gables fan, and I loved this book. This is a great way to get new readers interested in the series, especially considering the books are classics, and not short reads by any means. This book is fully of colourful photos, and retells the story in an annotated way, and I will be curious to see if they will continue with the other books, or leave this as standalone or starting point for the others.

This was just lovely. Geared towards younger readers, this version of Anne of Green Gables was so delightful. I read this to my daughter and she absolutely loved it. She enjoyed reading along with me, and looking at the stunning illustrations. The pictures were like little pieces of art, and the colors matched perfectly for this setting. The story stays close to the original themes and writing- only condensed for younger audiences. I would definitely recommend this version for younger readers to add to their library. It will be sure to start their love for all things Ann with an E.

I LOVE Anne of Green Gables. When I saw this on NetGallery, I knew I had to have it. The books about “Anne with an e” were favorites of mine when I was a little girl. Reading through this was a very pleasant walk down memory lane. I love the silly, dramatic things Anne says and I love sweet Matthew and charming Gilbert. Truly a beautiful, classic story.

Anne of green gables never fails to melt my heart. This sweet illustrated version was no exception.
I love that is a more easily accessible “abridged” version, if you will making it less daunting for today’s young readers while still keeping the core essence of Anne.

A beautiful adaptation of the beloved classic. The original series is an all time favorite of mine.

This one is perfect for children who are looking for simpler chapter book to ease into longer ones. I wish I had this one when I was that age. I wouldn’t have been so intimidated by its length!

I could not be more pleased with this new version of Anne! I remember wanting to read the Anne stories when I was too young - the length of the book was daunting to my young eyes, and there were no pictures, so I lost interest until I was older. This version - it is the perfect first Anne book - it has the whole story! Obviously it is much abridged, but all of the important parts are there and it's written so well. And the illustrations are to die for - so perfect! Beautiful book that I will end up purchasing for gifts over and over, I"m sure!

Katherine Woodfine has taken Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic, simplified the language, cut it to slightly less than one-third of its size and sprinkled it with charming illustrations by Isabelle Follath. So how was the result?

Wonderful! Woodfine captures the spirit and joy of Montgomery’s novel despite the limitations of gearing it to younger readers. I have to admit that I’ve never read the original, but I certainly am going to now! I hope it has the same effect on early chapter-book readers when they get a bit older.

This is an absolute stunning piece of artwork. I can't wait to purchase a copy to add to my own collection. I'm torn because these pages need to be framed and put on display but they also need to be placed in the hands of children and loved dearly for years and years.

Not only are the illustrations and art style beautiful but they adapt and show Anne's story so sensitively. The color palette the artist chose to work with is so whimsical and truly does Anne Shirley justice.

The main plot points from the original story are still present and the text is simplified for young readers. This makes it a perfect first edition to share with children of all ages.

I've loved Anne of Green Gables for a long time and I wish I had been lucky enough to grow up with this edition. Luckily, I still get the chance to treasure it as an adult.

An EXQUISITE abridged version for a beloved classic! The illustrations were perfect! The scenes kept in the book were perfect to mark the plot and flesh out the characters. Absolutely perfect for younger readers starting to learn classics!

Just when you think there’s no need for another version of a classic comes this endearing short book that stays true to the story without detracting from it. A new generation will delight in Anne and her timeless tale. Lovely, colorful illustrations provide just the right finishing touches. Perfect for middle to upper elementary children to read or be read to.

This a truly beautiful adaption of the classic novel Anne of Green Gables! It is the perfect mix of beautiful illustrations and the adapted text. All of the major scenes are included in the book, but the language is shortened and simplified for a younger crowd. I was really impressed with the transitions in Anne's age throughout the book and the flowery adornment on each of the title pages. It was a perfect translation of the atmosphere of Anne of Green Gables. Anne is one one of my favorite books, and this was everything you could ask for in an adapted version.

A beautiful perfect edition of Anne of Green Gables. The art is truly magnificent. The stories are short and sweet. I loved every second of this!

What a stunning version of this beloved tale! The illustrations are so lovely; they make you feel you are right beside Anne amidst a riot of summer flowers on Prince Edward Island. A must have for anyone who adores this classic story.
