"Shelve that Billionaire" by Mia Sands and Danika Bloom is a charming and witty romantic comedy that pits small-town charm against tech-driven disruption. The story follows a librarian who loses her job to a robot created by Bryan Brooks, a smexy tech billionaire. Despite her initial animosity, sparks fly as she gets to know the man behind the machine.
The protagonist’s journey from resentment to romance is engaging and relatable, with plenty of humor and heartfelt moments. Bryan’s combination of tech genius and literary passion adds depth to his character, making him more than just a billionaire heartthrob.
Sands and Bloom expertly weave together themes of love, technology, and personal growth. The tension between the protagonist and Bryan is well-developed, and their evolving relationship is both believable and delightful. The backdrop of the small-town library and Bryan's personal library, complete with floor-to-ceiling books and a rolling ladder, provides a charming setting for their story.
While the premise of a tech billionaire disrupting a small-town life might seem far-fetched, the authors manage to ground the story with authentic emotions and sharp dialogue. Some readers might find the resolution a bit predictable, but the journey there is enjoyable and filled with memorable moments.
Overall, "Shelve that Billionaire" is a fun and heartwarming read that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedies. Sands and Bloom’s ability to blend humor, romance, and literary references makes this novel a delightful escape.

This was a cute novella, with a little spice thrown in.
Jane loves her job as an assistant librarian. She also loves the shelving robot that she accidentally names Byron. She also just happens to have a huge crush on the billionaire Bryan who created Byron and donated him to her library. Her huge crush quickly turns to hate when she loses her job to the robot.
Bryan in a billionaire who loves to tinker, build robots, read, and watch Jane's videos with the robot Byron. When he sees her last video stating that it will be her last, he will do anything to keep her there.
This book is a very short novella, things happen really quickly. I would have loved for it to be a little longer so that their relationship could grow. It all seemed a little rushed to me. I did love the epilogue that gave us a look into the future.
There were some really cute book related romantic gestures from Bryan and Jane. I am looking forward to the next book.
Thank you Maple Laughs Romance and Netgalley for this book in exchange for my very honest review. This book was reviewed and posted on Goodreads on 5/29/2024.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of Shelve that Billionaire.
I actually liked this book a lot more than I thought I would. For such a short book it was a cute romance about a librarian and a billionaire. I understand which a short book the romance has to be faster paced and there was times when it did feel a little rushed but that is to be expected.
Bryan's library also sounds like a dream.

Let me begin by saying I am an instalove fan. This book however was not executed well. The second half of the book was better than the first. The beginning was disconnected and when they finally "got together" there was ZERO buildup. I am all for quick especially due to being a novella, but even a few sentences would have helped. The second half seemed to flow better, I am not sure if one half was written by one author and the other half a different one. As I said, I was expecting a fluffy, instalove, billionaire story and I was still disappointed. I will read the next one in hope of redemption.

❝..but there’s just something about this place. Seeing books with worn spines because they’ve been loved and read so many times. Helping people find what they’re looking for. ❞
my thoughts:
imagine reading a book about a librarian and her love towards reading and contributing to the book community? isn’t that the best thing already😭 but as if that’s not enough we have our robotics-software-nerd of a man who’s too good to be true (that’s why he’s fictional duh🤪) i wanted the man first but then we come across his library and my jaw dropped!🥵 keep the man just gimme the home library🫣 and we have all of this with a cute story under 100 pages!! best for new readers who want to start small in romance genre with fast paced stories! 💌 and that ending? super sweet HEA loved it! 🥹

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the arc of this book. Shelve that Billionaire is book one in the Bookish Billionaires of Maple Valley series. This is a fun billionaire romance between a library assistant and a tech billionaire. The main characters share a love of books. The female main character is smart and even mentions that they are a trope. This is a fun easy read. This book has some spice. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.

I like to find these short books in between more intense reads! And, as a previous librarian, what better series to pick to relax with than one that takes place in a library? Oh, and has billionaires to fantasize about.
This was a quick read about a woman who loses her job to a book shelving robot and the billionaire who has fallen in love with her via her videos with said robot. The insta-love was cute, there was a good amount of heat for a short book, and Jane and Bryan's start to their relationship was adorable. Would definitely read more in this series.
Thank you Danika Bloom, Mia Sands, NetGalley, and Maple Laughs Romance for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Jane and billionaire Bryan have had a secret crush on each other after following each other on social media. Jane works at the local library and does a mini vlog series titled ‘Book Talk with Byron’. Byron is a robot created by Bryan in order to help organise the library. The library board made a decision to get rid of Jane’s job as it is no longer needed now they have Bryan’s robot in place. Jane starts to despise Bryan and blames him for losing her job. After filming her final ‘Book Talk with Byron’, she receives a special visit from Bryan himself.
This novella was super cute and it was really relatable. I love that it was focused around the connection books can create between two people. It touches slightly on enemies to lovers with Jane feeling frustrated at Bryan for creating a robot that makes her lose her job. It was everything I look for in a romance book, funny, romantic and spicy. I was impressed that all of this was included in such a short novella.
The ‘Book Talk with Byron’ reminded me so much of the content I watch on YouTube and BookTok. I found Jane really relatable and easy to connect with as an FMC
The two years later epilogue was so heart warming and I was so happy to hear about their happily ever after.
Billionaire romance is one of my favourite tropes and this was done so well.

ARC REVIEW (Net Galley) I really really enjoyed this!! My biggest irk with novellas is I always feel like they are rushed or I want more content but I think this one is really well balanced!
Jane is an assistant librarian and she is due to be replaced by a robot. A robot designed by a reclusive billionaire who she has an online crush on. Little does she know billionaire Bryan has been obsessed with her since her first reading videos.
This story was really created for fellow book lovers! If you love love and reading it’s the perfect laugh out loud summer read. The little references to different books were great Easter eggs through the story.
One of my only complaints is I wish this was a full book! I think the pacing was really good but omg I would love to see some long form stories by this writing duo.

This is a fun story, with a sort of lightness to it
It's sweet, it's fun, a bit delulu as the story seems so unreal. But the characters are all lovely, the hero and the heroine have pretty hot encounters, there's literature talk, a big library, who could ask for anything more?!
At points the story felt a bit silly, but it's nevertheless a nice read to brighten up your day.
I got a copy of this in order to share my view on it.

Same feedback as the other book by this author: I'm not sure why it was marketed as a novel when it's so short. I also couldn't find this title on Goodreads either. The writing was very basic and cheesy, and I didn't really click with any of the characters. The plot was interesting though, I just wish it had been executed better.

Enjoyed the plot with one caveat🤔
3.5🌟
As this is a short novella, I did not expect complex character development and the characters are fine, especially Jane the librarian and her extreme devotion to books and inspiring others to find the joy of reading. The basic plot is good and I loved the idea of Jane's one-sided conversations with robot Byron. Billionaire Bryan's cluelessness about the consequence of his casual donation of a robot to the local library seemed all too realistic. Just one issue.
The steamy stuff comes way too soon! Yes, the characters have seen each other on social media, but not in person, when the passion explodes. It's just too much at that stage, unexpected and, for me, totally unrealistic, better reserved for closer to the end.
Thanks to Maple Laughs Romance and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest opinion. I have posted my review to Goodreads, Bookbub, and Barnes & Noble and will crosspost to kobo on May 27.

I requested both THIS book and the other one in the series "Check out that Billionaire" at the same time. Both books for me sort of weren't my cup of tea. The author is an amazing writer, that I can see in both works. But the relationships in both books were not fully developed and then all of a sudden you have very graphic spice in the story. I didn't feel a connection in either book. I think that perhaps it needs to be hashed out a bit more, and more time spent creating a connection between the main characters so you feel more invested in them. Also, a disclaimer on the spice level would be nice too. It wasn't nonstop, but sometimes random and unexpected, and honestly... I wasn't aware it would be there.

I’ve finally got my life on track, working at a cute little, small-town library in Maple Valley. I even put a down payment on a house, and then promptly got fired. Why, you ask? Because the new hire doesn’t need breaks and will work for free. How can I compete with that?
Smexy tech billionaire Bryan Brooks is the person to blame, and he doesn’t want my dream job for himself—that I might understand. No, he built a shelving robot named after my favorite poet and donated it to the library so that it can replace me. I hate how good he looks in his viral posts and the fact that he has time to talk about my favorite books but can’t be bothered to find a shirt. I’ll never forgive him. Not even when he shows me his personal library, complete with floor-to- ceiling books and a rolling ladder. And definitely not when he kisses me while whispering delicious literary quotes that set every inch of me on fire.
Cute short story! I really enjoyed the characters and their chemistry. I love books and libraries, so this was extra fun for me. Light, easy, quick read! Perfect for the beach or just sitting out on the deck for a couple hours! Highly recommend it!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!

I felt as though the book needed some more lead up to the characters meeting. The characters and their lives felt undeveloped with them both being rather plain.
The book was extremely short and unfortunately only contained some detail within the sex scenes which I found rather unrealistic.
Had the plot and backstory of the characters been more developed as well as less random jumps through time, it could have worked well. However, at the moment the book feels as though the author had a good idea but decided to rush the writing leaving it feeling unfinished.

I do enjoy short stories occasionally, but the timeline on this one was off. The main characters jump into bed on the first occasion they meet, and it feels rushed with their declarations, but then it’s a slower pace after that. Had the sex scene been downgraded to a romantic dinner it would’ve made more sense, and given the story more flow. I’m glad I read the 2nd book in the series first as this one would’ve put me off reading others in the series had I started with this one

A very short book which had a cute storyline. A bit unbelievable at times, they had sex pretty much straight away, then she hated him, then they got married all within about 8 chapters!
I would read more by this author as it's a nice palette cleanser!

Publishes June 3rd!
This was such a cute enemies to lovers novella, which happens to have angst, yearning and spice despite being just short of 100 pages!
The story begins right away with the FMC Jane happily working a shift at the library in adorable small town Maple Valley, until her job suddenly gets cut because swoon worthy genius and billionaire Bryan (the MMC) created a shelving robot that takes her place. Despite both of the characters secretly having crushes on each other from obsessing over each other's social media they definitely don't get off to a great start.
The narratives are relatable, especially because both are massive book lovers like many of us, and there's a lot of literary romantic gestures which I found so cute. There's only a small amount of spice in this book, and whilst it felt a little sudden it was well written and started off their relationship with a bang. Jane and Bryan's relationship does go through a miniature rollercoaster of highs and lows- with some drama too- but thankfully the making up was quick and reasonable.
The novella has a cute epilogue set two years later, with a nice HEA! Overall I found it to be a quick and simple feel good romantic read, nothing overly special but perfect for that little pick me up.
3/5 🌟

Jane is obsessed with billionaire Bryan Brooks. He is hot, he is smart, and most importantly, he has a love for books. Him being a bibliophile is a huge plus for Jane, with her being a librarian assistant and all. Her obsession with Bryan quickly fades when the robot he creates to help sort books at her library steals her job! Now Jane is unemployed, her crush is now her enemy, and she is stuck trying to figure it all out. It doesn't help when she meets Bryan in person. He is still hot, but she can't possibly like this man! His robot, Byron, stole her job!
This easy to read novella is both spicy and laugh-out-loud funny! I loved everything about Jane and Bryan! I was convinced they were each other's missing piece from their first interaction. Byron, the robot, just added to it all!
This short story is so cute and cozy, with the perfect ending. The pacing was absolutely perfect, which is something I greatly appreciate in a short story. There wasn't an area I felt went lacking, nor was there one that felt too drawn out. The laughs were there, the drama was there, the spice was there, and the romance was definitely there! 4 stars!
Thank you NetGalley, Author Collective 20, Danika Blooms, and Mia Sands for this delightful ARC!

“Shelve that Billionaire” is a short romantic comedy that follows the story of a librarian who finds herself jobless since the new robot assistant can easily do her job. Our story starts when she meets the creator of said robot and other feelings begin to develop.
