This is a cute grumpy/sunshine rom com with a heroine who loves love and believes in happily ever after and a romance averse prof who doesn't believe in love after his divorce. Talk about total opposites! I loved how Destiny lived for the moment and worked hard on her marriage/proposal business and Fletcher who thinks things through, takes his time making decisions and is on the more reserved side.

I recently dove into The Mr. Right Checklist by Melissa Foster, and I must say, it was a delightful read that kept me entertained from start to finish. The story revolves around Destiny, a quirky marriage-proposal planner, and a grumpy professor, Fletch, creating a dynamic that is both humorous and heartwarming.

What I loved most about this book was the chemistry between Destiny and Fletcher. Their contrasting personalities added a layer of tension that made their interactions so much fun to read. Destiny's vibrant spirit and her amusing checklist for finding "Mr. Right" brought a refreshing energy to the plot, while the professor's gruff exterior provided the perfect counterbalance. I found myself rooting for them as they navigated their feelings amid a series of comedic mishaps.

Foster's writing style really stood out to me. She has a knack for blending humor with emotional depth, making the characters relatable and their struggles feel genuine. Destiny’s checklist not only served as a clever plot device but also resonated with me on a personal level; it’s something many of us can relate to when thinking about love and relationships. The lighthearted approach to these themes made the book an enjoyable escape.

While some plot points felt a bit predictable, I didn’t mind because Foster’s engaging writing and well-developed characters kept me hooked. The pacing was just right—there was never a dull moment—and the steamy scenes were tastefully done, adding to the romance without overshadowing the story.

Overall, I would give The Mr. Right Checklist a solid 4 stars. It’s a charming contemporary romance that left me smiling long after I finished reading. If you’re looking for a book that combines humor, romance, and relatable characters, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

Destiny is a part time dog groomer and dreams of her marriage proposal business taking off. Through a series of mishaps her favorite client father is involved in her first business mishap. He agrees to help her organize her business and get if off the ground. In return she will walk his dog and help around his house. Through this arrangement they become fast friend and the chemistry grows. Ryan is divorced and won't do love again. Destiny has a Mr right checklist and he doesn't fit it. Can they remain just friends? This story was super cute and I even loved clementine the cat and molly the dog :)

Destiny is a dog groomer and marriage proposal specialist. Her proposal business goes up in flames as the first one fails. Ryan "Fletch" is a professor and previously married never going there again guy. Destiny grooms his dog for him. Fletch needs a fake girlfriend to keep his matchmaking family off his back so he makes the proposal to Destiny. A hilarious comedy of errors and romance make this story cute and unable to put down.

Destiny and Fletch have a rough first meeting when she set up what she thought was the perfect proposal. But it wasn't him proposing, it was actually his student and stalker wanting to propose to Fletch. That could have easily been the beginning and end of her new business venture. Instead, Fletch offers to help Destiny get her business set up the right way and off to a good start. As they spend more time together, the chemistry is undeniable and the banter between them is off the charts. Such a fun fast read! While I couldn't wait to see what happened next, I didn't want the book to be over as quick as it was! Another Melissa Foster winner! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract…whichever you want to call it, this is it. And it’s a lot of fun. It’s the exact book you would need right now to escape the real world & just immerse yourself in a rom-cam that tugs at your heart strings

💬 I absolutely adore the “pretend relationship” trope, and Destiny and Fletcher did not disappoint! Their banter, growth, and undeniable chemistry were so engaging and infectious. A definite must for rom-com lovers!

This was such a fun and refreshing read.

I absolutely loved this book. Our MCs and their banter brought the biggest smile to my face. Both our MCs are set in their ways. Destiny wants to make her new business idea a success and she's not going to let one big grump deteriorate her, no matter how good looking he is.

Fletcher doesn't want anything to do with love anymore. His divorce has left a bad taste and looking for love is not on his radar. But when the family gets involved and wants to see him happy, he needs Destiny's help even if that's the last thing he wants to do. Spending time with her makes him see that sometimes you have to make lemonade when life gives you lemons.

These two couldn't be any more different and yet somehow they were perfect for each other. I was smiling the whole time I was reading, well most of the time...there were a few tears too...and couldn't be happier when our MC found HEA in each other.

Dog groomer Destiny is a bundle of hopeful joy. She exudes positivity. Working in a dog groomers while trying to set up her new business – a proposal planning business destined to full every proposal with romance and perfection. When it comes to her own perfect match she has an extensive checklist of essential criteria that’s seemingly impossible to meet. A hopeless romantic and ever the optimist, Destiny’s attention to detail is, as her name suggests, destined to contribute to the proposals of her peers.
Ryan, or Fletch, is a divorced and done with love professor. The pair know of each other as Destiny grooms his dog, using excessive accessories which Ryan is not a fan of.
When Destiny is tasked with her first ever planned proposal, she pulls out all the stops so it’s a success – until she realises the intended proposed is none other than Ryan, who is being pursued by an overly obsessive student of his who is bordering on stalking. Destiny feels horrific over the blunder. The pair strike up an unexpected friendship with her promising care and walks for his dog and Ryan unexpectedly volunteers mentorship as Destiny kick starts her new business.
Their chemistry was scorching from the beginning but the foundation of a healthy friendship paved the way for an amazing romance. This was the epitome of the grumpy/sunshine trope. Ryan was absolutely done with any form of romance but here came Destiny, barreling into his life with smiles, laughter and positivity. I really loved this book. It just made you happy by reading it. The side characters were great, the plot kept you engaged and you can not help but root for Destiny’s success.
I am definitely going to look out for other work by Melissa Foster. This was a fantastic introduction to her work.

A spectacular lust filled love story that will have you falling in love with Fletch and Destiny!! Both have walls very high that protect their heart!! As their relationship progresses they both lower some of their defences and they have some smoking hot sexy times!! With both in denial that there is a expiration date, they both find it hard to admit the way they really feel. Many ups and downs in the story and the love of family that try to help!! Nice seeing old friends like Talia and Piper along the way!! Melissa is a rockstar when she is writing a book!! Love the characters, love the side characters and love the animals along the way!! Go grab anything that Melissa Foster writes but especially this book!! It will have you laughing, smiling, swooning and of course crying!! Perfect love story that will have you glued!!

The Mr. Right Checklist is a grumpy/sunshine romantic comedy. It's a well written entertaining story that had me laughing out loud, sighing and swooning. you get all the feels in this one. A very enjoyable read.

The Mr. Right Checklist is THE definition of a rom-com. I could definitely see this getting made into a movie. With some of the best romance tropes: grumpy x sunshine, opposites attract, fake dating, & forced proximity, Fletcher and Destiny (yes – even the FMC’s name is cheesy rom-com goodness) come together in the most awkward meet-cute. Full of laughs, swoon and characters you can’t help but fall in love with, this story is fun and flirty in the best ways possible.

This was a wonderful read! I quickly fell for the couple: the grumpy professor Ryan “Fletch” Fletcher and the dog groomer and aspiring marriage-proposal planner, Destiny Amor. The story kept me engaged from the very first chapter.

It's an entertaining tale that will have you sighing, swooning, and laughing as the characters move from being seemingly incompatible to finding common ground. A true gem that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Delightful! A definite must read! I needed a lightweight read and The Mr. Right Checklist was just what the doctor ordered. Sweet, quirky sunshiny Destiny working to thaw the heart of Grumpy Gus. I loved the way Fletch stepped for her despite the way she tried to engage him to his stalker. His love shined through with every move he made and yet it took him forever to realize it as love. Despite his fear of relationships he shows up in every single way for Destiny and gives her exactly what she needs, mentorship, friendship, family, and a place to belong. So beautiful! This book is absolutely perfect from the very beginning! The characters are deep and caring. I fell in love with Ryan and he took my heart hostage till the very end. He is supportive and sweet, and even though he frustrated me sometimes, I adored him nevertheless.
Kelsey is adorable and super cute. She made me laugh out loud many times. Her ideas are so original and romantic! I wanted to hire her LOL. They are just too perfecto together! I loved everything about this romance and their friendship.

In a wonderful Melissa's fashion, I had some of the best laugh-out-loud moments with this book. I felt very connected to these characters, and apart from all the laughs and swoon and giggles, this book had its own emotional parts, which honestly made me love this story even more.
