The Quit List is a fun, lighthearted rom-com that feels like the perfect mix of witty banter and sweet romance. Holly is on a mission to find "The One," and Jax is the last person she expects to help her—mainly because he’s a self-proclaimed love cynic. The chemistry between them is undeniable, though, and you can't help but root for them as they navigate their opposites-attract dynamic.
The premise is charming: Holly’s list of qualities she’s looking for in a partner and her plan to use Jax to help her find him. Of course, things don't go according to plan, and that's where the fun really kicks in. Holly's internal struggle between sticking to her list and giving in to the undeniable connection with Jax makes for some laugh-out-loud moments and swoon-worthy scenes.
While the plot is predictable in the best way, and the characters' back-and-forth is entertaining, I did wish for a bit more depth to Holly and Jax’s individual backstories. Still, it’s a delightful read that’ll have you smiling by the end. If you’re looking for something quick, funny, and with just the right amount of romance, The Quit List is a perfect pick.

A Charming Rom-Com with Heartfelt Character Growth
"The Quit List" is a delightful and engaging romantic comedy that will leave you smiling. The dual-POV audiobook narration by Abigail Reno and David Bendena perfectly captures the distinct voices and personalities of the two protagonists.
Holly Greene, a self-proclaimed "dating app disaster," is on the verge of giving up on finding her soulmate. However, a chance encounter with Jax, the rugged bartender at her favorite date spot, unexpectedly shifts her perspective. Their unlikely friendship blossoms as Holly, the meticulous perfectionist, begins to learn from Jax's carefree and adventurous spirit.
The story beautifully explores themes of self-growth and the importance of embracing vulnerability. Both Holly and Jax undergo significant personal journeys, and their individual triumphs are as heartwarming as their eventual romantic connection.
"The Quit List" is a charming and heartwarming read that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance.

This was such a fun & sweet romance.
I loved the chemistry and banter between Holly & Jaxon.
This was a fun sweet strangers to friends to lovers, and watching their relationship progress & develop was so fun. I really love how Jaxon was always so supportive and uplifting, but still gave it to Holly straight. He didn’t pull his punches, he was always open, honest and respectful.
I love how Jaxon supported Holly and gave her little nudges to get her out of her comfort zone.
They were both absolutely adorable, they cared for each other and I really enjoyed how they bond formed slowly and naturally and they just fit so well together.
There was so much banter, and adventures.
This was sweet & Swoony.
This was my first Katie Bailey book, but absolutely won’t be my last.

The Quit List was SO fun to read! I absolutely loved the dual-POV audiobook narration done by Abigail Reno and David Bendena. This is one where there is so much character growth and you truly root for the two love interests both on an individual level and to see them ultimately get together. I devoured this entertaining and sweet, closed-door romance in no time.
Holly Greene is absolutely determined to find her soulmate. But when countless dating app dates continue to get her nowhere, she’s about to give up… until the rugged bartender at her favorite date spot steps in to save her from her worst date yet and an unexpected friendship forms between the perfectionist Holly and outdoorsy Jax.
Thank you to Katie Bailey, Dreamscape Media, & NetGalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Jax is an amazing MMC! I adored him! I loved how Jax and Holly meet and how he really stepped in to help her when she is was in desperate need. I was giggling and kicking my heels throughout this book. It was adorable and a fun rom com! I will be reading more books from Katie Bailey in the future because this was such a fun reading experience.

This was such a sweet and romantic read! I loved the dual POV between Jax and Holly, their banter, and how of course, they found their happily ever after. The audiobook narrators were PERFECT and added perfectly to the experience.

"The Quit List" by Katie Bailey offers a lighthearted exploration of love, disappointment, and personal aspirations. The story revolves around Holly, a woman who has faced a string of disappointing dates, and Jax, a bartender with dreams of living as a mountain man.
While the premise holds promise, I found the narrative to be somewhat slow and lacking the depth I was hoping for. Holly's journey through a series of unsatisfactory encounters sets the stage for her eventual connection with Jax, but I struggled with the portrayal of their relationship. The idea of "changing a man's mind"—especially regarding his life goals—didn't sit well with me. Jax starts off clear about his reluctance to commit to anything serious or to have kids, yet as the story unfolds, he seems to undergo a rapid transformation that feels unconvincing.
Overall, while "The Quit List" has its charming moments and relatable themes, the pacing and the dynamics of the central relationship left me wanting more. If you're a fan of sweet romances, it might still resonate with you, but for me, it missed the mark.

I LOVED this book!! I read it when it came out and was so excited to see it on audio! Jax Grainger is my favorite ever.
Jax and Holly were so fun to read and even more fun to listen to. I love how protective he is. How he helped her try new things - like hiking - which may be my favorite part of this whole book.
Kisses under waterfalls. Late night drives to see the other one. Maddie teasing Jax about his feelings. It's all so, so good. So while I can't fully explain my love for this book, do me a favor and just go read it.
This book is one I won't forget for a long, long time.

A dating coach trope, with a twist of opposites-attract and a slow burn romance. Holly Greene, is determined to have a "happily ever after" and jaded bartender, Jax Grainger, is there to "coach" her to success. I loved the contrast of their personalities and the witty humor had me entertained throughout.
Sincere thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced listener copy in exchange for an honest review.

this was so much fun!! the book is absolutely addicting, i would’ve finished it in one sitting if this pesky thing called *sleep* didn’t get in the way
jax is SO SWEET and i love a guy with good intuition & people reading skills and DEFENDS & LOOKS AFTER YOU ahhHHH what a cinnamon roll
hannah is a chaotic mess and i love her for it
and all the scenes were so much fun?? i love cute chill and completely random scenes so much??
this was also mostly plot & no spice which i always love, plus a good ol’ slowww burn

4⭐, 1🌶️
This was a pretty dang cute book if you ask me I'm not a major friends to lovers girly, but this was written in a fun way with Holly and Jax helping each other improve as people, which becomes a friendship and I thought it was very well done. For a clean romance, I felt like the romance was still written realistically and relatedly. Honestly my biggest qualm with the book is the cover just didnt represent the storyline as well. I wish it would more outdoorsy since Jax is a mountain man and they spend a lot of the book on a hiking adventure.

There's a character crossover from the authors other book, Season's Scheming, but you don't have to read it before reading this (I didn't, but I kind of wish I did).
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.
Adorable read, with interesting main characters with great chemistry. I enjoyed listening, and the narrators did great.

The writing just wasn't for me. If I had read the blurb before requesting I would have known that. That's my bad. This book is good for fans of Lauren Asher! Not for me thought, sadly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book has so many things that rom-com lovers will enjoy! Tropes + chemistry + build up + tension makes for a story that closed and open door readers will enjoy!
I only took off one star because it didn’t have that final *huzzah* to give it five stars. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think lots of readers will too!
I listened to this one on audio and really enjoyed the performance! I highly recommend this format. Thank you @netgalley for the review copy.
Perfect for you if you like:
Dual POV
Opposites
Dating coach
There’s only one tent
He takes care of her when she’s hurt
“Good girl”

Super cute friends to lovers with some wilderness thrown in! I'm really enjoying all these books recently that have this rugged lumberjack style MMC but also with a strong FMC who pushes herself past everyone's expectations. Even though this was a closed door romance, the sizzle was still felt between the main character's and it didn't take anything away by not having any spice.
This is perfect for someone looking for a closed door romance, with adventure, self growth, a hot guide, and a cute dog.

Not my favorite from Katie Bailey, but still fun! There were parts that gave me Happiness for Beginners vibes, which was really fun.
Overall, a fun, cheesy, closed door romance that was a great summer read!
The audiobook was really well done. I enjoyed the narrator ls for both Holly and Jax.

The Quit List by Katie Bailey
This was fun, sweet and romantic. I am always down for a closed-door romance. A hiking adventure with a hottie? Sign me up!
Holly Greene is on a quest to find her perfect Prince Charming, determined to avoid any distractions, especially from bad boys like Jax Grainger, a charming yet cynical bartender who has sworn off love. However, when Jax rescues her from a disastrous date, Holly sees a potential ally in him. She enlists Jax's help in finding her ideal man, despite him being the complete opposite of what she's looking for. As they spend time together, Holly struggles to stick to her plan and avoid falling for the very type of man she vowed to steer clear of.
"I spent all this time helping you tackle your quit list, but it turns out, I can't quit you, Holly. And what's more, I don't think I want to."
What you’ll find in The Quit List:
Dual Pov
City girl x country boy
Screw it moment
Opposites attract
Only one tent
Dating coaching
Slow Burn
Opposites Attract
Banter
No Third Act Breakup
“I miss you, too. It’s stupid, but I kind of wish you could be here right now. A crack of light suddenly illuminates the room, and I look up to see that my door is being pushed open. “Aubs?” I murmur in confusion. “It’s me.” That gravelly, deep, familiar voice fills the room”

FREAKING ADORABLE. This is what I want when I read romcom. THIS. Sizzly, funny, with characters that are easy to root for and easy to be invested in their story.

Find yourself a mountain man who pushes you out of your comfort zone in all of the best ways! Jax pushed Holly to explore the outdoors AND to find a man that was worthy of her. Every little scene was so stinking adorable! There was so much tension that I actually didn’t notice that there was no real spice! I completely recommend this one!
