Yellowface meets Booklovers!

That's how this book was pitched and what initially drew my attention as I Ioved both of those books. It sums the story up well, too. It has the insider look at the publishing industry--particularly the agenting side of it and the romance between two book loving people. I really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. It was a fast, fun read and I loved the publishing storyline. Claire was an interesting heroine and I enjoyed her journey and was rooting for her to figure things out, both professionally and personally. There are some funny and sweet moments as well as some frustrating ones before Claire realizes she needs to change her approach. I loved the side character of Bea, Claire's mother's best friend and Claire's longest term client. I'm not sure if Gull Island is a real place or not, but it sounds so charming, I want to go there! I would definitely recommend The Pitch Queen as one of the summer's best beach reads.

Took a chance on this one.
It had shoes and Books on the cover. 2 of my favourite things. I also wanted something totally different to the Crime and gangland thrillers I enjoy reading.
I'm thrilled to announce the chance I took was worth it. I flew through this book in no time and found myself a new author.
Set in and around the publishing industry it really is a book about books.

This book has a great storyline with humour and is thought provoking. It's a good escapism read.
