A very sweet romance. All the small town good stuff is tucked inside. Enjoyed by everyone who reads it.

** spoiler alert ** This is a closed door romance. I was really intrigued by the story because I was assuming there would be more of a hospital focus but that was pretty lacking. I haven't read the first in the series so that may just be this one book of the series which isn't as doctor focused, and that might be a nice break. The main character (Georgi) is pretty back and forth. She has some rude moments to Elena, the 19ish year old girl (10 years younger than Georgi) which seems pretty immature (specifically the night of SUP Elena attends.) Theo (main male) is also SO FAST to lose his trust when Georgi says "tell him I love him and have a plan" LIKE BRO! And they have a conversation where he says he doesn't want Georgi to ever feel abandoned but also seems kind of smug that she felt that way. I also though it was petty after the trial when Georgi thinks that she "could've done it without Theo but was glad he was there" I think it would've been much sweeter for Theo to say that to her. The fact that Georgi is trying to be self sufficient and can do it all herself is way over brought up. These are just a few examples of times where the characters seem inconsistent, and pretty distrusting of each other/ the relationship seems weak. She also mentions things like that she has a friend who owns a BBQ at the end of the book, but we already KNOW the friend personally so it is phrased like it was added later - there are a few moments like this. And when Tispy wants to use her legal name, this was never alluded to and just kind of randomly thrown in while seeming disconnected - i was attached to her nickname. Overall there are quite a few inconsistencies that irked me but I love a cute romance - I just honestly don't think this was the one for me. I am going to give a shot to the others in the series though!

I like medical romances, so requesting to read this was a no-brainer! I really liked Theo's character. I have a soft spot for shy, caring, and introspective MMCs. There's also a lot of yearning/angst in this book, which I love seeing. And Georgi was a great FMC who was independent, loving, and supportive of those she cares about. Even though they both come from very different backgrounds, they still had lots of shared values that made them work well as a couple and they provided each other with the support system that they each deserved. They were both very likable and I was cheering for them to get together. It was a definite slow burn. Also side note, the side characters were great. I especially loved the character development of Theo's father. I recommend this book if you're looking for a quick romcom read with no third-act breakups and HEA.

Tropes:
Second Chance
slow burn
small town
billionaire romance

I loved this book!! I loved the way the author built each character and loved how the interactions changed frequently! I also love the enemies to lovers trope! I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series!
