Wonderful book! Really informative, about Japan in areas that I did not know. I did not understand the isolation of Japan during the time period until I read this book. I am immensely interested in the history of Globalization, and I can see how it started in Asia with these countries after having read this book.

I will be recommending this book to my husband, who studies markets and globalization (has two master's degrees in the Market Revolution). I know he would find this to be incredibly interesting and would derive more from it than I would.
