I enjoyed this title, however I did see some flaws/issues.

I did not love that 'good' people were 'white' and 'bad' people were 'black'. I am not saying that was intentional but intentional or not it is unacceptable.

Half Bad was such an intense read, I could hardly put it down. I have seen many comparisons to Harry Potter, but I cannot entirely agree because I find that these comparisons would cheapen the world created by Sally Green. I really connected with Nathan and felt my heart wrench at the things happening to him. Though I do find this book to be somewhat hyped, I still recommend it highly, the series only gets better.
