Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for this advanced readers copy. I found this historical fiction story quite riveting and enlightening, as we journey through Yasotay’s experiences with the Mongolian nomads along the beginnings of the Mongol empire in the 12th century. Full of exciting drama, action, thr challenges of war, and romance, it’ll be exciting to see where this story leads in thr sequels.

This was an engrossing historical fiction about a period/culture I know little about so it was extra interesting for me. Yasotay is a great character. I love his thirst for knowledge and his loyalty (and his awesome donkey Tata). But the problem with getting an advance copy of a series book is that now I have to wait even longer for the next book in the series! I hope the next one comes out soon as I am would love to see the story unfold from here.

Thank you to Netgalley and Living Beach Publishing for an advance copy of this book for review.

This book was surprisingly fun and interesting. I knew nothing abut Genghis Khan so it was a fun history to explore. I really like Yasotay. He was an interesting and unique character who is very open minded and adventurous. I like that he always follows what he believes t be correct. It was an interesting story with fun characters i am curious to see what happens next. Yasotay and Tata are adorable as is his relationship with Tera but Yasotay does deserved better from Temjimin so i am glad with how things end but i am equally excited to see where it goes.

I thought that this was a really good book. There is a very seductive and tension filled balance between desire and doubt in this book that gives not only your heart but also your mind a workout as you read it. Once I got a taste of the steamy/sweetness that this couple generated I was addicted.
